I did a Google search and the ONLY thing that has worked on both a 2019 Equinox that I previously owned and now with my 2021 Equinox is this: 1) Unlock the hood BEFORE you start the car 2) After you start the car, close (latch) the hood *When you stop, the engine will stay running with no issues, but you have to repeat the process whenever the engine has been turned off, before you start the car again. Exactly I’m willing to pay to have it taken off completely. Worse feature never. No one wants it.

Shift to L and push the plus + sign until the dash says 6. You have to do that everytime you start the car. This disables the auto-stop.
