Some games offer different runtime environments through mods. It is rare I think but the older games often support these types of mods. Just look up DXVK on TH-cam with GTA IV. the fact davinchi resolve made me do 4k now for live is insane. Now all of the newest firmware rtk5x videos are 1440p tbc synch and upscaled to 4k. Edit as long as my drive space or amount of content allows me but special games do get 4k.

PC gaming changed so much that meeting people on the same server for years is impossible like old days with Wolfenstein, Medal of Honor and Red Orchestra; and people dont publicly show their retro gaming hobby on pc on average. On consoles which are online, so og Xbox, PS2, DC and PS3, people still play and meet up online and in the US even go to Lan parties just for console gaming. Back on track. On PC e.g. Steam, they are on the forum asking to play and finish the game alone because they are modern internet people who dont care about how they want to be treated and treat everyone as a one-use tissue paper. There is always a way to replay it with or without the console. OutRun 2 and Coast 2 Coast are more feature rich, but the PS3/360 versions have it's own charm, although the forced turns in maps and bumping into cars penalty got nerved.

Last active COD Zombies. WAW is empty. MW 1 is my favourite. MW2 too many grenade launcher players. MW3 dead for me, no one plays. WAW still has online. My fav PC multiplayer games are WAW, Enemy Territory Wolfenstein and Command And Conquer Renegade. WAW lost hardcore servers around 2018/9. Best FUN I ever had. Killing Floor 1 was good too. KF2 is just a consolized game with no community or due to the lost of SheepKF-RPG server, most people left since no other server had the old-school 'coming back to the home community server' feeling. Back in the day, joining the same few servers in Counter Strike and so on was the big good thing. No cheaters due to nice admins.

also do think about CFW, custom firmware. You can not loose anything if you know what you are doing including disabling system calls before going online and using a second account for online just to be save if you care about your PSN account

Zombies still work. From what I remember on Xbox and previous few years people who do these PS3/Xbox in 202x showed these games. I can only assume two things; one is the servers are dead or two, EU is dead. People always said for years these COD games have latency cap but then some of the CODs or many show this feature to be turned off. On PS2 and Xbox, xbox won of course due to the bigger lobbies, they often hard coded latency caps but then LAN over XlinkKai fixed this, although these games only happen in US time zone or like 3am British Standard time (5 hours ahead of NYC or 8 for LA)

Sorry for taking so long. The controller controls are way better (sadly). Simple point is with MKB you somehow can cancel out fire attacks with the damage buff. Dropped items are invisible (I mean the text highlight), so that choosing controller will automatically be in the realm of Diablo 1 and 3 with awesome aim. Secondly, the A button is the use and show button. This button will open up an item screen which allows you to earn money by selling any weapon level from white to legendary, after picking it up slowly, later on. So MKB is glitchy. Controller is little slower for looting but it shows everything. Inventory is divided in sections and a mouse might be faster if the player gets annoyed but not by much.

Not sure if the game has cheats but also ask around. The game should be abandonware, officially by the publisher. Multiplayer version might have to be matched if the latest version is subpar.
