I have a quick question… i have an Apollo interface, how to set up the software console to record properly? Like the uad plugins n shit???
thank you sm for making this 🫶
Crazy expensive? Any other recommendation like worm audio or not worth it? Just save up
@@keithwillems9786 thankfully there’s plenty of good recording gear on the market now a days. However, I think if you are serious about recording music and are surrounded with multiple professional artists or you want to reach for that same level of quality, there’s nothing that beats the top of the line equipment. These are pieces of gear that are hand built to last decades and the quality you get with them definitely backs up the price.
Don’t even bother with warm audio. It’s extremely cheap. Stam Audio makes amazing gear. And so does Audioscape.
🔥
Another great video!

Mix breakdown🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽?????
Is the tone more on the vintage or modern sound? Thinking about getting the plugin but I record a lot of modern rap and rnb.
@@8BKV honestly it’s versatile for pretty much anything. I used the plug-in on one of my latest videos to get the vocals to sit brighter.
How would you say it compares tone wise to a 1073 or ssl pre. Thanks for answering my questions.
@@8BKV the 1073 definitely has an exaggerated top end that can be too much sometimes. The vlc has more of a smooth and musical top end when the high boost is turned up. I'm not too familiar with the ssl pre but all of these are great options. However, I find more flexibility with the vlc and I can typically pull out whatever tone I want with the built in eq.
Good content bro
You are wrong about having to allow the engineer to do whatever he wants on OUR song… its our song for a reason. What if he wants to do lo fi on the beat for the last hook but the artist likes the beat how it naturally already was? What if the artist doesnt want to be drowned out with reverb. You are wrong, the engineer should ask if you want it instead if just doing it
@@SorryBoutThatBuddy if the artist doesn’t like an effect there is always an opportunity to undo. I’m not saying the engineer should take over full creative control on a song but rather try out opportunities and if the artist doesn’t like it we can always go back to how things were. You’ll never know if someone doesn’t like something if it was never done in the first place. At the end of the day, it is a team effort.
Did you record at 48khz or 44khz sample rate?
@@zachpitt9249 I typically record at a higher format 48khz and convert it for other formats if I need to. This doesn’t make a huge difference but play around to hear what conversion sounds better.
Different, good vid bro!
Dynamic control 🔥
So fye
Right ✅️
❤🇯🇲
howd you get vocal aux on the input
It’s an open bus input that I renamed to vocal aux. you can make new bus’s in the i/o setup
Hey man do you have idea how mixing engineer make vocals modern sounding airy is it in mixing or hardware equipment in recording? Cause when im watching mixing tutorials from pro they add minimal plugins only eq, compression and they don't saturate vocal but how vocals comout sounds so modern polish.?
@@zachpitt9249 it’s a mixture of a good vocal performance with a good recording technique. Hardware does help a lot when used correctly to enhance a performance. However, in the mix, eq and compression is mainly for dynamic control and tonal shaping, so when engineers use barely any plugins, it usually means during the recording process the source already sounds 90% finished. You can try boosting 10-16k for air but if there isn’t much frequency content up there to begin with, then boosting up there isn’t going to help you much. I’ll make a video soon about this to help explain the topic better.
@@jakintoh thanks man it's going to be very interesting content! 😊
Good video. I’m thinking of buying the vlc.
I love mine. Use it constantly.
do yk how much help ur giving to people fr🥲
Thank you
Why my vocals sound thin?
@@zachpitt9249 there’s several things you might be doing. You could be recording too far from the mic, cutting too many lows, or boosting too many highs.
