I've reported a leaver in one of every 2 games i play. I'm really starting to think that the reporting system is just for show. There should be an algorithm that sees you havent left a 10m radius in the last 10 minutes while not being disconnected and permabans you. I dont know why i even have to report it.

5:56 No it's not Welcome to the internet, if you are promoting your game/community in social media you are interacting with millions of people at a time, some of them are bound to have had a horrible day or have a harshly negative veiw of that one aspect about your game but as long as the criticism at its core is real and correct, you should take it To give some perspective, if a unknowing youtuber were to take a sponsor from AS, a company known for demonizing autism and hurting autistic people day to day directly and indirectly due to their size, and someone gets fed up at that but expresses it in a "toxic" way, should the youtuber just ignore that criticism and keep promoting the brand?

After 8 years, thousands of hours, and probably hundreds of dollars, I finally quit Overwatch because of it's community. It didn't matter if I was playing ranked, casuals, or even the modes that are specifically made to be played for fun, there was almost always somebody complaining about somebody else. It made it impossible to play, because every time I made a mistake, I felt like I was about to get flamed for it. I feel like this is the state of all online games right now, and its ridiculous. Games used to just be for fun.

9:08 I'd like to argue that this is actually not really an excuse for behaviour. I think its moreso that some people just aren't build for competitive games. I sometimes compare it to one of those public parks where they have chess tables. Could you imagine if you played chess with someone but they just start smashing the table and throwing your pieces around, yelling at you and insulting you etc. No one would ever sit down and play with them again. Usually that then self regulates. Either that person doesn't show up to play anymore because no one agrees to play with them or they recognize they did something bad and grow as a person. The only way this person can play chess again is if they apologize and change. In online games however? They just queue up again and you are FORCED to play with this person. So its not naturally regulated. The problem is often ban systems are just too lenient really and this "Regulation" neither happens naturally, nor artificially. Alot of people who are super toxic are secretly miserable. They should take a break. And if they can't recognize that then they need to be forced to take one

You can see it many competitive online games. No one cares about other human beings anymore. They've just dehumanized any person on their team because they need something to get angry at. Its definetly having an unbalanced life/just not getting out enough. Youre stuck in this bubble of salt that just makes it worse and worse for you every single day until youre just a shriveled up ball of hate. But not all of these people can just be shut ins. I think this is much bigger than just "You play the game too much" Its EVERYTHING coming together. Bad parenting, not having developed empathy and this behaviour being normalized. What's the solution? Honestly no clue beyond making bans more sensitive. I feel like people get away with too much because the community has such a big toxic part to them that the devs are scared to legit ban a third of their playerbase. So its just tolerated

Moba games always have super toxic community, just deal with it. Also I like that rant format, maybe you can make video about Hi-rez in general, closing DKO and Realm Royale, firing people, reason why Smite 2 has low rating in steam and etc.

Mobas are naturally toxic. Smite encourages it because there is no punishment for trolls nor rewards for working as a team.

Hot take for this, banning DmBrandon was the beginning of the end for the smite community. Don't get me wrong dm was gabage but he was the garbage conduit that had all the lesser garbage orbit around him, smite game was better when all of the worst people were preoccupied jerking eachother off in his chat. Taking him out left all these people with hours of free time everyday and they have 2 goals win games and bitch and boy are they not winning games.

just got perma-banned on smite today 💀 but truly, i deserved it. while it is incredible frustrating to have people who aren’t much better than you, critiquing you and saying you’re bad when they literally aren’t any better. it just feels like punishment isn’t very equal and i definitely hope i can find peace outside of this game 👍

Im only 5 and half minutes in, but I've gotta say, I disagree with the whole "word your criticisms better." Sure, there are times where people go a bit overboard, but why do you care, and what is wrong with somebody, who bought the same product as you, pointing out lies and stupidity? If s company lies to you, and does stupid thing with their products, why would you at all be concerned with criticizing them "respectively"? If a company says they're fixing matchmaking, and they haven't fixed matchmaking years, what is wrong with calling that out? Even rudely? Why should we polite, when the company clearly is not? Should people be advocating for deaths? Absolutely not. But sugarcoating criticism and complaints entirely defeats the point.

In smite 1 I was in a conquest game with you and wraithyn and you both were bming our teammates and basically went afk not trying. I still remember it because I pulled up your streams while it was happening and you both were being so weird.

Just play deadlock boys, this game is on its last breath. The urge to cope is there and I understand it’s hard to let go of the good times, but smite killed itself, it wasn’t the player base. Name me a time the game wasn’t toxic. It’s a feature of the game. If it wasn’t it would have been fixed by now. Part of growing up is accepting when a thing is done and resisting the urge to blame everyone around you.

You know what toxicity USED to be called back in the day? Talking shit. I'm so TIRED of people bitching about toxicity, if Timmy is being a dick tell him his moms a whore and move on, who cares. Me and my friend (lets say his name is John) played SMITE 2 earlier, it was John's first game on casual conquest ever. It makes him jungle, he rotated to gank mid, got screamed at by Sol, John leaves, Sol gets ganked by enemy jungle and dies, screams at John and blames him. So John went solo lane, exact same thing happened to Bellona, so he went to help mid again, Sol screamed at him again, he ended up under levelled because he was just trying to rotate between lanes and help but was getting no real XP since he wasn't allowed to attack minion waves and Sol and Bellona were taking all the jungle camps so he was close to giving up as they spent the rest of the match just screaming at him. All this over casual conquest in an alpha.

Lol if smite dies because of its playground level of toxicity then man, I'll be a fucking monkeys uncle. You go play leauge. Just go do it for a bit. Shit is actually toxic. A few dudes dcing or spamming "you rock cancel that" is little more than a play ground spat compared to thr actual fucking slurs that get thrown around in leauge, Dota or even deadlock now. Smite is dying because the developers fucked up and released a shitty alpha for a sequel no one asked for. Smite is dying on tje merits of its owners. Get off yourself and stop blaming a few assholes for a systemic issue with the game: there's no reason to play when Smite 2 is around the corner.

What about being toxic towards literal trolls? If someone picks Anubis support and goes full damage and feeds, ruining my whole teams game, I’m calling that person a fucking idiot in chat and berating them. Yes it’s toxic, no I probably shouldn’t do it, but they just ruined my game and that’s typically 20-30 minutes of my life wasted. They absolutely deserve more than “the L they earned” because we all got an L too and we weren’t trolling. We all know they will never get banned for not playing assigned role, I don’t know why that report option even exists. Toxicity is the only consequence of that behavior. If you or anyone else have a problem with flaming literal trolls you are a snowflake.

I agree with this so much. I think videos like this are important because it's always important to get people online to self reflect. It's important to remember that, like you said, these are real people behind these avatars. Twitter is the only smite community on the internet I can use and it's because there's a LITTLE less anonymity there than places like reddit. But even then, it's getting worse because the car guy bought Twitter and now it emboldens people to just be nasty and hateful towards others. Nice vid, will def make me think about ways that I contribute to toxicity in the future.

If anyone is ruining the game it’s the community…. There’s already another comment explaining it all so I’m not reiterating. I’m so tired of people flaming the devs for Smite 2. I feel like most devs on most other games don’t show a fraction of love that the Smite 2 devs do. The Smite 2 community is fucking toxic, juvenile, and so goddamn annoying. And honestly, its content creators reflect that. As most of them are drama parasites, Twitch VOD channels, and just generally low effort videos that hardly help new players or people trying to learn in general.

Ive wanted to make a channel about this subject for awhile. "Smite sucks and you are the reason" i gave up on smite because of the community of players. So many times i loaded into the game for someone to immediately DC and never come back, too many times have people dodged because the god picks were slightly off meta, too many times where people were spamming toxic stuff 2 mins into the game, too many times where my team surrendered a winnable game, too many times someone roasted a player for being targeted but not helping them, there was just so much frustrating things that made the game miserable even when it resulted in a win. Every game suffers from bad Matchmaking and balances. But a toxic player base is almost impossible to fix.

I really hope smite doesnt die, i enjoy it so much

Just played with an anubis that went 1-13 with 12k damage in a 40 min conquest game while on the other hand his opponent (vulcan) went 19-5 with 56k damage😭. I need to hurry up and unlock rank i get sold almost every game its kinda crazy.
