For the fuse box puzzle, it's basically a process of elimination, with a little of the pidgeonhole principle. We can see on the left 3 numbers (25A/50A/30A). The fuses we have can be inserted into slots, each of which has a uniquely colored wire coming out of it. We see that the colored wires go up into 3 boxes at the top. Striped wires lead from the boxes at the top to the numbers on the left. The the basic premise is that the fuses are inserted and combined (according the wires) in the boxes at the top. So the top-leftmost box will contain the sum of the red, blue, and green wires (each of which represents one of the fuses we have). The middle box will contain the sum of the yellow and green wires. And the last box will have the sum of the green and red wires. We don't know which box on top leads to which number on the left. But, we can deduce it. Because the leftmost box has 3 wires going into it, we know one of the numbers on the left is the sum of three of the fuses we have. Only one number, 50A, can only be made from three of the fuses we hold (25, 10, 15). No other number (25A or 30A) is the sum of any other combination of 3 fuses, out of all the fuses we hold (10, 15, 20, 25). Thus we know that the topleft most box goes to the 50A, and that the green, red, and blue wires connect to the slots of the 25, 10 or 15 fuse (but we don't know which is which). Another key fact is that, since the blue wire only goes to the leftmost box box, one of the fuses (25, 10, 15) is only used for this sum (50A). The other two numbers, 25A and 30A, each must be the sum of two wires/fuses, since each of the remaining boxes has 2 wires going into it. But we cannot use our 25 fuse to make either of those. (25A would be complete with just the 25 fuse. And we don't have a 5 fuse, so we can't use the 25 fuse to make 30A.) Thus, since the blue one only goes to the box for 50A, and we know that the 25 fuse is only used in the sum for finding 50A, we know that the blue wire represents the 25 fuse. (This is the pigeonhole principle part.) Since blue is the 25 fuse, then red and green are either the 10 fuse or 15 fuse. We see that the rightmost box combines them, so that box must represent the 25A. But we still don't know which color is for which fuse. By elimination, the middle box must be for the 30A. The only way to make 30A from the fuses we have, is with 10 and 20. Since the middle box shares the 10 fuse with the rightmost box, and the only wire shared between them is the green wire, we know the green wire is the 10 fuse. Thus the red wire must be 15. Thus the yellow wire must be the last fuse, 20.
