11 Games That Died a Few Days After Launch
11 Games That Died a Few Days After Launch
From ambitious projects that couldn’t deliver to games that fell apart under the weight of their own hype, these titles barely lasted long enough for players to log in.
What went wrong? Were the bugs too much to handle? Did the gameplay miss the mark? Or was it something else entirely? We’ll unpack the stories behind these short-lived games and the hard lessons they left behind for developers and gamers alike.
If you’ve ever been disappointed by a game you were excited about, this one’s for you. Let’s talk about the launches that flopped, the promises that weren’t kept, and why some games just don’t make it.

That game achieved much better success than its predecessor, and it only seems to be better. How does this happen? Well, watch the video and you'll find out! LEMMiNO - Cipher th-...

Read some of Notch's more recent comments about Minecraft last month. He seems to be fine with the direction Jeb took the game in. Some speculate that the RPG elements might never have been added, keeping it as a pure sandbox builder, but that contradicts Notch's original vision. It's known that Notch wanted Minecraft to be a darker game with fantasy elements aimed at adults & that the young playerbase was a huge morale extinguisher. I do not believe he would have kept the game inventory & world simple & limited & would have in fact done the opposite at a faster pace than Mojang does now.
When studying the history of Minecraft, I got the impression that Notch is the kind of guy who gets bored of things very easily. If Mojang had remained independant & did anything else with Minecraft & Notch didn't leave, I believe he would have worked on new concepts & looking for inspiration for his next passion project. On Twitter I got the impression he did not want to be a two-trick-pony or only be known for one game or spend years & years on the same game. If his prior game WURM Online is any indication, Minecraft might have ended up as a subscription game with limited free features. Unless that was his co-creator's idea.
Microsoft didn't ruin it. They just haven't really done or added *anything* of significance since acquiring it.
Who actually cares with any game are dead or don't just enjoy what you like
i mean doom the dark ages is id's most ambitious game i bet its gonna to have alot bugs and crashes
Fallout 76 is still buzzing
6:19 imagine using tommyinnit as stock footage
I’m surprised battlefront 2 the remastered version wasn’t here
I miss Battleborn
1:33 hawkeye.?
Pc Minecraft 660.000k 😃🙏🏻
No, it wasn't too late, Fallout 76 is alive and well today.
Fallout 76 is not dead
0:18 ayo☠️💀
No mans sky is nowhere near dead
I'm only 2 games in but I think the title should be changed. Both fallout 76 and no man's sky have saved themselves years after release and are definitely not dead. Still a great video from what I've seen so far.
Fallout 76 has 11k players daily
Bull fallout 76 didn’t fail it’s great game now 2:16
Great? Don't give them too much credit, it's just good right now.
12:45 showing overwatch 2 when talking bout the first is CRIMINAL lol
Well, Overwatch 2 is a Fifa type sequel...so eh...looks the same
How the hell is Concord not on this list
Tf is conrcoed
@@Cheez_Doodlezzyou not knowing it seems normal but also seems like you've been living under a rock at the same time. Concord died like immediately, even having physical releases immediately pulled after it's 11 day lifespan. Impossible to buy the game anymore. This game was there for 8 years of development and sucked pure dookie. Now since the game completely failed and died immediately, it makes sense for you to not know it. But then how do I know it? Because it failed so hard that literally everyone clowned on it, which brought attention to the failure, so it seems kind of weird that you don't know what it is.
@Cheez_Doodlezz It was a PS5 exclusive hero shooter whose best player numbers were below 1000, and shut down completely a week later
Guardians of the Galaxy is one of the most underrated games this generation. And thats a really sad thing as its absolutely fantastic And its all because of the Avengers game that came prior.
Unpopular opinion: I liked Avengers and played it for years
The one thing that killed avengers was how they made spiderman exclusive to Sony and he wasn't just a skin but more quest's
Why does Sony think they actually have the right to do that? Legally they do, but they really don't. Spider man is the most popular superhero (behind batman and superman) of all time, it makes 0 sense to actually make him exclusive to anything. Sony should simply own the character but keep it open to everyone. Sony's games are mediocre and the movies are just shit, hand over the property at this point.
Why this guy sounds like Ai
i think he is , he is using Crucible , the game , and uses pvp gameplay from Destiny which is called Crucible. stupid ai wont take over the world...
0:16 ummm
Over-hyped games almost always disappoint. Fallout 76 was the biggest mistake of pre-purchasing I ever mad. Normally I wait until a game is out for 6 months before buying so the developers have had time to eliminate bugs and smooth out the game play. The only and last game I ever pre-ordered. Please forgive for being stupid.
I never pre order games, hell even shadow of erdtree, I could trust from soft, but there was no reason to. I almost broke it with shadow generations (which did end up amazing) but never pre order. Ever. Let the critics do that then see if they complain or if they praise it then buy it.
Never got to play marvel avengers. Got to the initial beginning cutscene and on every single attempt as soon as thor shows up and a slight bit of lightening happens ..... CTD
Its sad that a really good game like Guardians of the Galaxy tanked because of Avengers
I wouldn’t say it tanked just had a rlly bad release it’s actually highly coveted in the gaming community
@@Benjacksonnn tanked as in it sold poorly. its a goated game otherwise
@ then fax it deserved better 🥺
Fallout 76 is still kicking with a dedicated fanbase and new content
came here to leave this exact comment, although at launch the video is pretty accurate. Took too long for 76 to get back on its feet.
@solis_skye oh yeah definitely, games launch was atrocious
I still refuse to buy and play it lol I want a little more rpg and quests in my rpg games lol
I never played because I don't like playing with random pepole in RPG and I still play alot of fallout 4 and it still holds up after several years
@@creativemonkeyz12 You can play the full game solo, its just not as fun
I do wish more people would make D&D likes (Baldur's Gate, Pathfinder, and Rogue Trader being what I love) because there's just so much more you can do with the freedom to use your imagination and actually do what you imagined
the reason I can't get into games like buldurs gate is the pov and the gameplay despite the freedom of choice and cool tactical opportunity etc I prefer gameplay like souls-like or games like witcher and skyrim etc. where you yourself have to do the input to attack and move and all that and not the term based style either. I like running in with my sword swinging for their heads and jumping away from attacks and all that when it comes to my gameplay but I completely get why and how the fanbase for D&D like games is big and supported it really just isn't my thing and I don't think I could get into the playstyle ever sadly unless they somehow made 2 optional playstyles one being the classic pov D&D style and one for RPG gamers who want to go in as the player but I doubt that would work in anyway for a game or developers wouldn't wanna put in the work to create the completely differing playstyles to cater to all
@hxmpgxd2215 it might never happen, but that's also why we do get such a variety to choose from. I completely agree, I love hands on combat much more than turn based, but the freedom of choice is just that much more alluring to me. If I could build a D&D like character, get the story, the freedom of choice and the replayability but also get the combat of say... Dark Souls, or Dragons Dogma, or I'd even take something as unforgiving as Kingdom Come, I'd have something I'd never stop playing, and there are games similar but there's always some trade-off between visual quality, combat or story
@@sadboimiddy8586 I completly agree brother
I like how Deadlock came in and absolutely destroyed any chance of a defense for Battleborn, perfect combination of FPS/HeroShooter and MOBA
I remember hyperscape, I genuinely wanted that game to work out. It was a pretty good idea in my opinion. A lot of potential was there, and while they did what they thought would work, in the end they failed due to not double checking the basics. Like, fusing guns to make them better? cool idea, being able to create walls that you can use defensively and offensively, also cool. In the end though, the base loop / game itself pushed casual players away. Example: Fortnite while it has a vertical element it wasnt as extreme as hyper scape. Which I think is another reason it failed. Movement shooters are good, but I feel like Ubisoft was expecting that people would go from fortnite to HS but they are fundamentally different games despite sharing the genre. Fortnite has the basics down to a science. It wasn't complicated, it wasn't playing with multiple different axis. 90% of that game is flat ground or the height difference is not massive. So players from fortnite going from that game to HS where you could fly across rooftops at mach jesus was too much of a difference. On another note. Honestly surprised Spellbreak isn't on this list. Suffered the same fate as Hyper Scape for the exact same reasons.
really underrated video
It really is. This video deserves a lot more than just 355 views
never heard of that game
yeah
This video seems like the script was written with AI icl
This game got recommended to me when I was about to play it again!
I used to always play PVZ2 secretly on my tablet when i'm supposed to sleep, finished the game, now forgot about it since there was nothing new and it was all pay to win.
Soon 100k?

Nothing will compare to how deadzone was. Deadzone for me back in teh day was one of the most fun zombie shooters aside from apocalypse rising which was also a feat itself. I don't remember exactly what game I played but I think it was Deadzone Remade, the weapons you could get from fighting bosses, the pvp, the formula of deadzone was perfect to me.
I like the way the game went. Although it was a risky one. Removing boxes and now totally leaving the old trophy/rank system was very controversial, but it made the game way more chill again. :)
