Yeah it's not moving. Guess I have to replace it.
What if I can’t even turn it with a wrench
Unplug for safety and take a look inside with a bright flashlight to look for a hard obstruction. If you can't see anything it might be time to call in a professional to see if they can help or if it needs replaced.
I’m going to try that. My landlord has not fixed it in months and I’d hate to pay out of pocket as it’s well over 5+ years old
Thanks to you and plumbers everywhere we have have the miracle of safe drinking water. Thanks for what you do! 🙏
Thank you so much for your thoughtful comment! We’re honored to play a part in providing safe drinking water-it’s something we never take for granted. Your appreciation means a lot to us and plumbers everywhere! 💧
Thank you man ! ❤
You're welcome! So glad it was helpful.
thank you so much!

Thank you 😊
You are very welcome!!
THANKS, Andy!
You are welcome!! Thank you for watching.
Thank you!! I stumbled across this and had no idea I have to service mine. I will get on that!
OMG I owe you bigtime, you saved me $125!!! Thank you so much!!
Wow, that’s awesome to hear! We're so glad we could help you save some cash! Thank you for sharing!
saved me a service call and it took me longer to dig up the wrench than😄 it did to fix it!
That's awesome! We're glad you could fix it so quickly-great job!
I broke a plate and a few pieces fell in, my husband turned it with alan wrench while I with flash light looked for pieces and pulled them out with gloved hand.. and thin wooden tong.. got all the pieces out🎉.. working fine now. 🎉🎉
Great teamwork! So glad you got it all sorted out!
Mine jammed, but I felt inside and there was bent metal thin measuring spoon stuck in the blades- I turned off disposal and pulled it out with needle nose pliers. I have used the allen wrench fix in the past though.
Nice job getting that out! It's great to hear you've had success with the Allen wrench fix too. It sounds like you are pretty handy!!
@@AndysPipeDreamPlumbing Thanks! :)
Thank you!! I thought I would have to totally disassemble mine but this quick fix worked a dream!
You're very welcome! I'm so glad the quick fix helped you out!
This was EXACTLY what I needed! My disposal was still humming and it took less than 30 seconds to fix once I had the right tool!
We're so glad to hear that you were able to fix your disposal quickly with the right tool. If you need any more assistance in the future, feel free to reach out. We're here to help!
Ok I'm confused. Counterclockwise is not right to left and you said. That would be clockwise. Left to right is counterclockwise. That's how it worked on my faucet.
Righty tighty, lefty loosey. After 30+ years as a plumber, I know a thing or two about clockwise and counterclockwise. The video is correct, but thank you for your comment.
@@AndysPipeDreamPlumbing I am not doubting your knowledge about plumbing. I apologize if I offended you. But the hands of the clock go from right to left. Not left to right.
@@Oontaka no offense taken. It depends on which way you are looking at the faucet. From the top you would be correct, but from the sink looking up you would be turning the aerator clockwise to tighten and counterclockwise to loosen. Hopefully that explains it better!
Thanks Andy for sharing that quick fix...and not wasting a bunch of time leading up to the solution!
My thoughts exactly.
Thanks for the advice. Worked like a charm.
Awesome! Happy to help.
Thank you, Andy's Pipe Dream!
Glad we could help!
Best video ever had a piece of plastic stuck in mine
Thank you! I'm glad our video helped you out!
Wrench won’t turn when I stick it in … I why would this be the cause ?
That could be for a couple of reasons. It could be that the disposal has had a mechanical failure preventing it from being able to turn freely. It could also be that something was dropped in the disposal that is extremely solid. A piece of metal like silverware, or if a coin dropped in the disposer that can really jam them up. It might be best to unplug it, and then use a flashlight to look in the side around the edges to see if you can see any foreign objects.
Thank u sooo much!! I’m shifting contents of 2 food pantries around and have dishes and tons of food items on all counter tops and have been using my disposal to dispose of small amounts of food not being used going forward when lo and behold the disposer stopped working! I Had forgotten how to reset the unit but googled and your video came up so literally 5 minutes later I was back in business organizing and moving food goods around: thank u so much,,
You are so welcome!
Awesome. Thanks and I love your humour! Be well.
Thanks, you too!
What happens if the wrench won’t turn once in?
I apologize for the delayed response! While I may be a bit late to assist you, I’ll answer your question in case it helps someone else in the future. To be safe, first unplug the unit. Then, use a bright flashlight to check inside for any foreign objects and look for anything that seems out of place. If it’s jammed, it’s usually something hard. If you don’t find anything, it might be time to consider replacing your garbage disposal.
lovely lamp “It's indescribably beautiful! It reminds me of the Fourth of July!”
Short, concise, and accurate. Nice job. If I lived in Kansas I would give you a call.
Wow, thanks!
Thanks for the tutorial, my parents never taught me this stuff so this was super helpful!
No problem!
It worked!!!!! Thank you so much
Glad it helped!
I think that bio nonsense is just a gimmick, but. the disposal is top notch.
Actually, the bio treatments/active enzymes work very well. They are not a quick fix, but they introduce a friendly bacteria into the system. Once in the system, the bacteria grows and eats anything that is biodegradable. This is very helpful and keeping old drains open and flowing that would normally need to be cleared every year or so.
So, this relay could be used for anything 110v... on... off...
This guy is amazing. Brief, true, and perfect
Thank you!
Thank you! The wrench turn did the trick!!!
Awesome! Glad it helped.
Thank you, it worked.
Glad this video helped you! Thank you for the feedback.
I have this disposal at our new house. It's never worked as far as dispensing the liquid. Plumber never opened the bottle when he installed it *face palm* and he'd also not full installed it. So when I took it out and opened it I put it back in the same way he had and it was leaking out under the sink. Even tho it was clicked in place and holding itself up I finally got pissed and put one hand on top of the disposal and another under the liquid bottle and pushed hard. It finally popped all the way up, no gap at all. And it works. lol
The installation steps are incorrectly repeated. He says 1st plug your garbage disposal into the under sink outlet. Then he says 2nd plug your garbage disposal into the insinkerator outlet. That’s not right.

Very informative video, I appreciate all the knowledge you shared with me today. Just a couple of minor details that I feel could have made the video a little better/more understandable. 1. Music: Personally, I would have left it out altogether, as it doesnt add anything to what the people are here for (information), it is a distraction, and, for me anyways, I have to resist the urge to immediately disbelieve anything you say because it makes it sound like a commercial, and I despise most marketing. 2. "Technology": Granted, this one's a bit pedantic, so you can ignore if you like, but not everything is "technology". Most of what you described as technology really didn't need that word...its just a marketing fluff word to make something seem more valuable or soecialized than it really is. Again, I had to actively ignore your words to get at the acual differemces between the models. Just my two cents. Thanks again.
Thank you!!!
Glad we could help!!!
1st, thank you! From A girl that tries to solve/fix myself first (and with strength of hubby). Ours did not trip, but hums. Unplugged, looked inside, clear. However, One of the two lugs/propellers completely jammed. Tried all simple test first at bottom. Do not have unjam tool to try from *inside at top of sinkerator, so carefully used end of short broom stick to un-lodge a lug jam. The fly wheel (guess what called?) turns like silk so makes jammed lug difficult to turn/unjam. While holding base in place from bottom with Hex wrench at same time turning lug, thought had it! Both lugs, spin freely. Plugged in, pressed red reset, only to still hum. Darn!! So thought solved it! Think pass my knowledge now,. guess bearing next? Anything else I can do before calling plumbers? Or Is it history? InSinkerator Ess-1. Ps: not long ago, when Sinkerator working, turned switch on and hand got zapped slightly. My hand was still very slight damp from a dish! Does this mean a short that could have caused this hum? Not done zap again thank goodness. Thanks! D
Glad we could help!
@@AndysPipeDreamPlumbingI don't think that answered her question ⁉️ 😂😂
I apologize for the delayed reply! I hope this helps someone else. It seems you've done all you can-tried to unjam it and checked for obstructions. It might be time to consider replacing the unit.
BIG BIG Question... I have the insinkerator evolution cover control plus. No switch, You have to turn the cover to turn on the unit. Now after 2 years, I wish I got one with the switch. Will the air switch work on my unit ?? or can the cover control be removed.
Andy - I need help! The battery in the video is the battery I have. My plumber told me which plumbing warehouse to buy it from. I gave the owner my plumber’s name, he gave me the discount, and since I have had the EXPENSIVE battery installed….nothing but beeps. We have had it reset 3x, unplugged, a fuse changed, and the battery JUST KEEPS BEEPING. I am in Chicago area. Do you have any suggestions before I call the plumber who installed the pump for the 7th time??!!
Great video, and it worked using the Allen ranch, with reset button. Thank you.
Glad it worked! Happy this helped.
Great information, Is there any way to mute the music or turn it down?
My Badger 5 just went out at the 10 Year Mark. I am very happy with its performance & longevity! I will be buying one of the 3 that you showed here. 🤠👍🇺🇸😉🤔. B9USA Sr.
Where can I buy a tankless water heater water filter interior replacement like in your servicing video??
Great video, but did he really say “If you don’t know where it’s at, grab it and put it in a drawer” at 1:14. I can’t find mine and I’m not sure how that works lol. *Heads to Home Depot
I have a woodford model 25 and everytime I used the water hose, I get a leak from within the basement. I've changed the insides and bought a new vacuum breaker. It only leaks when i used the hose. Back pressure?
You figure the cause? I am unsure why this would since backflow wouldn’t create pressure above water supply pressure, ie should theoretically leak all the time. Did you call Woodford customer service? They are extremely helpful
@@mateogrow4454 Dude! You would not Believe it! the tail end was never soldered on. It was press fitted. I almost killed someone! LOL. Crazy!!!
@@ELDecano1971 nice man, glad u got it figured out! Thx for response
