The Why Files channel is One of the Best Channels on TH-cam. Ive been with them for years. Highly suggest checking them out. U will not be disappointed. I promise that!!
I thought it was great 👍🏽
Thx xxoo Dr. Midge
I've been saying this for a while. All Netflix does is make bad movies with expensive cameras.
Unfortunately that is becoming more and more true.
i personally loved the show
I could totally understand how someone could love it. It definitely has well written humor.
Sadly no where near as great as Ridley Scotts version of Gladiator , and lacking Hans Zimmermans music, and the great acting of Russell Crowe
A great idea for the filmmakers to tell some of the story from Numa Turcatti’s pov (he did not survive; I won’t say why so as not to spoil it for those who haven’t seen the film)
Missed opportunity: Meh the Force....
Agreed. That would've been a fun way to go.
More like pre-Skywalker Saga content.
Yes my wording isn't great. Meant to convey content produced since Rise of Skywalker.
@allthingsentertaining328 including Mando S1??? Andor? Well, then, you are lost!
@@allthingsentertaining328 wait, did you mean that RoS was good?? And that everything after it sucks??
I appreciate the kind words!
You are most welcome. I love the show.
I'm just gonna leave this video here. We deserve a lot better than this, and this show getting this much good press is actually sad. th-cam.com/video/06GI06NCC60/w-d-xo.html
Opinion is subjective. I can understand if you don't like it. But getting good press because people like it isn't sad. Its a mirror of what the audience wants and likes.
5:14 it made me so happy to see who plays Amanda (Will’s boss) bc it feels like Kima from The Wire moved up the ranks 😊
Right. Great casting choice.
good video!
Thanks!
Prime check how many times same people are watching this show over and over.. get us to season 2 and 3 of Deadloch.
Agreed
Love love love Deadloch.. they need to fund season 2 and 3. I am watching season 1 on rewind.
Okay, but it's only gonna be a one season show l o l
Meaning the quality will be good for the entire series so good
La película es española, que relata un suceso a uruguayos.
I am still a huge Frasier fan, for me at least the humor wasnt dry, but this revival of the show... is a miss, the humor is mostly not there, it feels too dumb, or forced I dont know how to describe it, the funniest character there is Alan, Frasier friend, rather than Frasier of any of the other characters, and Frasier son... is sooo anoying as a character, and not in a funny way.
Agreed. There just was something missing in this revival of the series. I think it really needs Niles' character.
Great Review, very fair points. Not to mention you took your time in researching the movie production and even the book author. Very proffesional and yes, Alive was too much a Hollywood movie, it shows too much, they even added drama because they though it wasnt enough aparentely, not to mention unnecesary gore. Also, a small "correction" I can make you regarding the information is they didnt shoot per se, on the crash site, it was too remote and dangerous for the actors and crew to actually shoot there, but the director took a small crew and filmed scenery at the real crash site, then the actual filming with the actors was made in Spain, in the real snow mostly, and those exterior shots were combined with the shots the director took on the real site. And regarding the frostbite question, they had extra clothes, and used layers as well as the seat fillings to stuff their clothes, not to mention that when it was too windy and cold they would get inside the wreck and cover the hole, to shield from the wind and that also woudl preserve a bit of their body heat inside the wreck, other detail we see in the movie is how when they are inside they usually spended their time talkin about food or anything, and also massagin each other toes and foot, that would prevent forstbite, the friction of the massage generates a bit of heat in the area but also it helps the blood flow wich also helps to keep the area warm with good blood circulation and oxygenation to the cells. And may I add, the accident happened just finishing winter, so it was becomming warmer, slowly, thats why despite the cold they had the issue that almost everyhting was wet or damp.
Thank you for the response and education. I've learned a lot more about the experience of the survivors thru comments like these.
We appreciate your insights. I agree, maybe there's some certain aspects to Society of the Snow that did feel like it needs to more elaborate, detail-wise.
Thank you. Yes I feel there were some things missed but overall a great movie.
I’ve watched this movie over 10 times and don’t get tired of it. I focus on the message it delivers. Teamwork, Faith in God, love for their families, friendship, resiliency, and love, love, love. Excellent review!
Thank you. You're better than me. Its so difficult to go back to movies like this for me. The amount of hardships and scenes that people have to go thru, especially when we know its all true, its just a lot to take it. But big props for you watching this excellent movie multiple times. Its a great movie.
Thanks for your review.....I am going to watch it!
Thank you and please do. The filmmakers and production crew deserve to have their work seen.
If Society of Snow deserves a B+, Alvies deserves a Z- because it was really bad 😂😂😂 By the way it wasn’t cannibalism it was NECROPHAGIA! Which means to eat flesh in decay, corpses or carrion. Cannibalism is what Jeffrey Dahmer did and went to jail for. Cannibalism is such a derogatory term under these circumstances. About the lighters, i assume many of them had their own. It was pretty common even for young people in Uruguay to smoke then. Besides, Methol, one of the survivors was carrying a suitcase of cigarettes, his family owned a tobacco industry. And also remember that they checked every corpse, and put to use everything they thought it could be useful for their survival. There were 45 passengers and only 16 survived.
😄 Overall its better than a B+ movie. The storytelling was just my perception of dialogue and pacing. This is definitely a top tier movie. Thank you for the other info. I knew others had more info than me and I was correct.
They had lighters but there was not much they can use for fuel. The environment had rocks and snow and nothing else. The plane was made of metal. The survivors did burn some books, cash, and a few soda crates, but these were few and didn't last, especially with the low oxygen level at that altitude. They also had some clothes, seat covers that they used as blankets, and seat cushions but those were obviously more useful to cover yourself up than to burn. As for frostbite, the survivors used to massage each other's limbs to keep the blood flowing and avoid frostbite. No one taught them to do that. They just started doing it instinctively and it turned out to work. When Numa and the other two got caught outside at night, they returned to the plane half dead with their skin dark purple and the other survivors took turns massaging their arms and legs for over 5 hours so their bloodflow returned and no one got frostbite. They did get some minor forms of frostbite on their faces (which is shown in the makeup) but they were always good about covering up and taking care of each other so no one lost a nose or ear or anything.
👆That. What they burn they loose. And they were on a position that they could not loose anything.
Canasta, dijo que era imposible hacer fuego. Estaba todo húmedo. No hicieron fuego
@@bruckycv1335 they did, but very briefly. There were at least 3 occasions in which they made fire and cooked the meat at the fuselage before they ran out of burnable material and then they found some more soda crates in the tail and they used those to make fires a few more times. One specific time was when they were trying to fix the radio with Roy Harley. This is mentioned in both Alive and Society of the Snow books as well as Canessa and Parrado's books about the subject. Yes, the wetness was one of the factors that made it difficult to light fires, as well as the lack of oxygen, but the main reason was the lack of things to burn
This is a great summary of the questions I had. Thank you. I felt that so many people know the full story that I'd find answers out there. This is much appreciated.
great review, my suggestion, watch it in Spanish with English subs.
Please don't belittle people who can't read subtitles or for whatever reason choose not to. The point of this story is to connect us all on a human level not to gate-keep on whether they watch the dubbed version or the subtitled version.
@@DianaWoods-n7rit was a suggestion and it is well intentioned. Truth is that in the movie the actors are speaking with the Uruguayan (rioplatense) accent, the production took care of every detail, even the words they were using, making sure no modern words were incorporated into the script of by any of young actors. It is more authentic and the emotion is more palpable. I understand that someone who doesn’t read prefer to watch it in English or any other language, but if you can, watch it in Spanish.
I go back and forth with watching films in their original language with English subtitles. Its really up to if I feel up to it on a particular day or not. I will say it makes a difference in how I perceive the acting and emotions. It is so much better listening to a movie in the original language. I felt this film wouldn't need me to use subtitles to convey its depth. I was right. But your suggestion is a good one.
There was even an earlier movie from Mexico in 1976 called "Survive!" A young Christopher Reeve dubbed one of the voices for the American cut.
Really? I'll have to check that out.
I knew the movie existed but I didn't know that bit about Christopher Reeve! I'm definitely going to seek out this movie and watch it. Thank you for that tidbit!
@@DianaWoods-n7rYeah. This was per an article that appeared in Fangoria that was covering the exploitation films of Rene Cardona Jr.
This is my favorite of all time now but I can’t watch it again
Exactly. This a movie that you can have in your collection but never watch again.
Thanks for the Beautiful review ❤
Thank you for watching.
In the movie Alive the script didn’t even say that they are Uruguayan. They mention that they are a South American team🤡
Sounds like they toned down some of the actual elements of the players.
Very methodical review. Congrats.. "Alive" is a good movie. But "Society..." is on another level.
Thank you. I kind of felt that but I wasn't sure. Validation! 😀
I've seen Alive and it was good and your review has convinced me to watch this movie.👍🏾
I'm glad. I think this movie is excellent. Let me know what you think and how it compares to Alive.
@@allthingsentertaining328 OK I watched Society of the Snow and it was more detailed and in depth than Alive, which still was a good movie that I watched along time ago. Society was excellent and is deserving of the Oscar nomination.
This title says it all. My biggest complaint is how they are rushing through the story by mashing up episodes instead of just having more episodes. They did a lot better than i thought was coming but it could have had 30 episodes a season and been the best live action show ever just like the cartoon is the best ever.
I agree. Its like Netflix neuters series by limiting to 8-10 episodes a season. That may work for some series, Stranger Things for example. But adaptations my need a bit longer to incorporate good original character development or fan favorite scenes. I think this season if it was gonna be an adaption of book 1, should've been 13 episodes. I think that would've given the makers enough time to incorporate more of the OG series that makes sense live action and still limit studio costs.
there are lots of scp like scp 008 scp 174 scp 098 or it might be 09
Absolutely. It is an awesome concept.
real
The President in the BOOK, you know, the Book that the movie was based on, was from Texas. So was not random. Also do not think they would change the whole story for you. Other people have had some problems with the accent too. Because they saw the Actress. Not the character. It is best to "see" the characters in shows. Is less confusing. Also, it 's the best way to get into the story. Not the casts past work. I saw a Female President from Texas. Not Uma Thurmon playing a President from Texas. Try it next time. Makes a big difference .
Congratulations. You actually made me go back and watch my video again. Because I was sure I made myself pretty clear on that one character. And I did. Firstly, I admitted why they HAD to make her from Texas, more ambiguously I said why they made her Southern. The story necessitated that location and I conceded that. However when an actor or actress accepts a role, it their job to convince the viewer of their character as being genuine. You're supposed to see the character, not the actress. That's the whole job. If you do your job well, we don't notice who's playing the character. As an actor, you're there to service the story, not the other way around. So to that end, Uma Thurman did do a great job pulling off a Southern or Texas accent. That doesn't speak to her character's commitment to her family or job. That was done pretty well. Accent not so much. I appreciate you had a different experience than me and that's cool. Movies are subjective. But please refrain from telling people how THEY should watch or enjoy the film. I saw Uma Thurman attempting to play a female president from Texas. You had the opposite opinion. Neither of us is right or wrong. We shouldn't structure our opinion as fact or to downplay someone else's opinion. But I do thank you for watching and offering your thoughts.
@@allthingsentertaining328 When you refrain from being critical. I will also think about about doing the same. A person giving an opinion has to be "convincing" in order to be genuine. Otherwise it comes across as just bitching. I will consider your suggestion. I think it only fair that you also practice what you preach. Seems the fair thing to do. It always makes me smile when I am told to refrain from giving my opinion, in order to protect someones right to have their opinion. Seems a bit hypocritical. I was not saying you can not say what you say. I was reacting to your comment. Same as you were reacting to the movie. But somehow I get the impression I am not allowed the same rights.
Nothing went wrong!!! I want more... 'LetsGo'! Givens Cn go anywhere...
The character is fun.
Unsolicited advice This is a really good title that got me to click on this video, and I really liked your visuals, but your audio definitely needs some work to be cleaned up. I also recommend trying to tighten up your dialogue to make it more fast paced. Over all you are doing pretty good, solid video
Thank you for the honest feedback. Yes audio continues to be a sticking point for me. I promise to keep working on it. Come on back from time to time and keep me honest.
Truly a nice surprise. 8w8 Thank you!
You're most welcome. Everything about your channel from production and vibe is awesome. Happy to shout you out.
Well this was a surprise
You might want to check the sound levels on this video. I think I hear speaking, but it's not audible.
Yes it does appear the audio wasn't good on there for the first few mins. My apologies.
This show sounds good to watch for spooky season👻
I can attest it is definitely for this season.
Definitely checking this one out, glad I saw this on my feed.
Thanks for the comments. Let me know if you liked the movie as much as I did.
Mate! You’ve got to be kidding me with the comments made on this Awesome show. What do ya mean by not liking the characters 😮 Mate! There’s NO bloody Accent so I really don’t know what you’re talking about. Stone the Flamin Crows Mate, you’re obviously not an Aussie, so please don’t pick on us. Luvya Lea 😂❤😂❤😂❤
we all give it a goo with Mike I had to check you were doing right by him.Thank you for shouting out a lot if people's fave true crime guy.👍
Absolutely. Mike's the man.
I love his Netflix series based on his novels... So far, the stranger was my favorite and imo the best one I've seen imo... Okay, but where to watch this one, it's on Netflix as well? If u said so I didn't catch that part.
I'm not aware of a Netflix adaption of his work. But if its anything like this one, its worth a look.
Hey I like your content and this is a great review All Things Interesting. I think your production is nice and your story telling is great. My biggest issue is your audio quality for your microphone is horrible. You're voice is smooth and your annunciation is solid, but the quality is a little lacking in that department. Should be an easy fix and I'm stayin subbed either way!
I appreciate it. Yes I've noticed that in some of my playbacks. I'll be attempting to upgrade equipment. Thank you so much for the support.
I hope they continue the series. I was getting into it😊
It's a very addictive series.
I love finding small channels that are interested in things I am. Thought this concept was interesting, and saw your review on Erin Carter (which I'm currently fixated on, so definitely will be back). Wishing you all the growth fam🙌🏽
Thank you! The hope is to keep exposing people to content they'd otherwise miss out on.
The insurance dance omg love it love him lol
Who can't love the insurance dance? 🙂
Andor already did it
I watched the first 2 episodes and was bored with it. I've heard it ended up being very good. At some point I'll go back and finish the season.
You havnt completely/truly lived until you've witnessed the glory that is Mikes Life Insurance dance lol
Indeed. We only get the music nowadays. He needs to bring back the dance on a regular.
