I like videos where fellow autistics unload their traits. Thank you for sharing as it helps me ground some of my knowledge in myself. My communication has symptoms of a type of aphasia. For example, I will refer to a red car as blue, or say "chair" when I mean to talk about a table. I sometimes fall over my words which others have made fun of before - that has hurt me a lot. I'm also a slow reader and will insert words into the sentence. I also have severe Tourettes, but I've defeated my depression and anxiety by dealing with the reasons why I had them. I work in IT but I've been getting into mechanic videos on TH-cam, having bought the car I've been fixated on it. I have no particular interest in getting hands on and most of the information is throwaway but it piques my interest nonetheless.

I have High Functioning Asperger's Syndrome, so; I know the pains' & positive things' about being born with Asperger's Syndrome.

Im not even in college yet and this describes me... is that bad?

I also have terrible handwriting writing. I hate when someone asks me to write something down for them since it’s so hard for them to read it most of the time TwT I also remember that when I played with toys most of the time I played with it the way other people wouldn’t expect. To me there’s no wrong way to play with a toy. But to others they probably wouldn’t expect me to grab only a toy sword from some power ranger lego type of set and only playing with that one toy sword for hours. Or to wanna play with an empty soda can or bottle in a pool instead of using actual pool toys

I’ve had Aspergers/autism all my life as well, but I wasn’t aware I had it until I was 15. Social interactions have never been my strong suit, and half the time when I want to respond to something, I keep overthinking what I’m going to say and all the possible outcomes that could stem from it, to the point where I end up blankly staring instead. I’ve also had a narrow range of interests too, mostly having to do with video games or Art of some form. I’ve always loved drawing ever since I was a kid and still do. I also had an interest in film-making for a while and attempted a few projects, but I’ve more-so shifted my focus over to music. I started messing around with music I grade 7 using GarageBand on a school iPad, then focused on drawing for a while before picking it up again at 16 and learning how to play the piano as well. Since then, I’ve made over 60 songs, which are just beats because finding lyrics is difficult, and released 4 albums on Spotify. My artist name is JFIL if you want to check it out. When I did find out that I had Asperger’s/Autism, it didn’t make me feel any different other than certain behaviours, like having a difficulty with social interaction and limited interests, made a lot more sense to me. I finally had a reason for why I was able to focus on certain details that others couldn’t, why I had such a hard time communicating with people, why I only wanted to talk about video games but couldn’t because it might make the other person I’m talking to lose interest in me. I’m comfortable enough with it now that I can literally say “I have autism” to a person and not feel awkward about it, because I think it’s cool. Watching this video was just so relatable that I could think that the person in the video could be another version of me. I still do feel a bit isolated from the whole communication thing, but it’s glad to see that I’m not the only person who was this. Holy crap how did I manage to get this all into words!?!?

What an excellent video! As a fellow aspie, i feel like you did a great job explaining everything ^_^ i remember tai g years, literal years (5 of them) in my early high school days to learn proper social interaction. Though it does feel weird to know that i have essentially a list of appropriate reactions and responses to cross check, when other people can just…. Interact with others lol

i only realized this february that when someone asks you what your name is, you ask it back. I am 15, socially inept and inable to pick up social cues. I’ve always been labeled as ‘shy’ and have always felt that something was off with me, but with my newfound interest in Asperger’s syndrome, I’m finally registering that the likelihood of me being an aspie is extremely high. i’m high functioning and do well in school, and can understand many aspects of the psychology of a mind. however, i legitimately can’t even understand what to say next in a conversation with the average person. this part of neurodivergent people understanding and getting along with other neurodivergent people hit me- i got along best with people who were neurodivergent and had the same type of weird humor. we just understood each other without any surface filter… i wanna work on being more outgoing- on understanding social cues more. I want to be charismatic, not for becoming that popular person, but just so I can network more to find people like me and to grapple opportunities. It’s statistically proven that the more social you are, the more successful you are to likely be. i just want friends and happiness. i want to have happy memories in high school- and i have big dreams. for now, i’m going to work on myself and ramp up confidence. i want to be better.

All I herd was burgers lol but I have adhd ocd and anxiety and also a lack of social skills I worry about my grades in school more than the average person and even worry about my friends grades more than they do I often find myself crying in class because I don’t understand something or can get my homework done in time I don’t think this healthy for my mental health but I can’t help it … edit ( I was diagnosed with asd this summer so I can add that to the list of things that effect my brain mentally so yippee luv that for me ) my interest are like on a wheel that always changes butt when I’m on an interest I’m on that interest it’s all I ever talk about for like weeks or even months my most recent and longest one in which is ongoing is history and mental disorders )

1 of my biggest pet peeves is when customers tell me that they can get a certain item in my store cheaper next door. And yet, here you are in my store wasting my time telling me about it when you should be buying it next door instead. And do not get me started on hagglers/barterers (customers who ask you to knock the price down on an item). Honestly, why do some people think it's okay to do stuff like that?! If you can't afford something then either put the item back where you got it from or ask a staff member to put it back for you, it isn't rocket science.

i was diagnosed with PDD too but it never changed to Asperger or autism although i have the same traits as you (+physical clumsiness) and even my parents know this, so i’m confused
