It would be cool to know what street they lived on to see what the house looks like today, especially on the inside. I noticed on another video the house was number 55.

Cute kid, if she is still around it would awesome if she saw this. They seemed very well to do, the fur coat and video camera probably set them back 2 dollars back then.

People took pride in what they wore back then. They weren't wearing pajamas to Macys and such to do their shopping. Red lipstick was the thing for women. My mom never really wore any other makeup except for her red lipstick. I sent it with her when she was cremated ( they probably threw it away)

Notice how centered, calm, focused everyone seems without screens? The grandmother just sitting quiet and still, enjoying just the simple presence of her family.

To put things in perspective, 1938 was the worst year of the great Depression! So that family was doing very well!

Did you apply noise reduction filters to this? It appears that a digital artifact has been added. I posted a few of my own family’s 8mm film reels starting in the 50s. My great grandfather was a movie director from the golden age of movies and brought an 8mm rig with lighting to his home. They made some similar Christmas scenes. Thanks for sharing.
