Great video! The weight bolt cavity on the butt end does not go past the current balance point. So as it stands, I cannot change to a more forward balance. Should I bring it to a shop and have them drill and tap it far enough so I can add more forward weight? Or?

I just purchased the CNC lathe machine. I have a few questions? What speed are you using for the headstock? Is that a six-wing cutter on the router? Is that a sixty-degree live center on the tailstock? You used notepad will word documents transfer as well?Can I purchase from you additional Gode files for this CNC lather? Where did you purchase the dust collection shoe and how did you install it? This video gave me the confidence to go CNC lathe. Thank You

Great vid Ed! 🙏🏻🙏🏻 5:50xxx another reason to take the wobble out before making a pass down the entire butt is for *radial balance*. Once the handle is attached, and IF you use a tenon and/or metal pin for connection/linear balance, merely shimming the points and cutting the wobble out to even the points on the outside- there is the danger of moving the internal tenon and bolt to one side creating an abnormal wall thickness to one side and your cue can “bust out” because if this. In other words, just because v-groove points can be seen as even on the exterior, this does not necessarily mean the cue is radially balanced/constructed on the inside 😉 PS. There are times one will want to switch to a left handed tool and face both ends of the part between centers 🙃

Sometimes I put attention to the people around me, they with say I am good player, but in reality I am a good player which I need to learn more. They say all around me I am good I don’t know why, maybe they are no good or they trick me because I know I am not a top player just a good average. Opinions?

I learn to play with house cue prefer 19oz I bought a cue low deflection and good brand but weight was in front and when I make the cue 17oz feels like I played with 19oz house cue.

I feel the cue no straight with pro taper

That was some good information for a player and maker shaft. I find the pro taper shaft vs conical taper shaft. When I play with pro taper I feel the cue is not straight but I check it is dead straight, but when I play with conical I feel the cue perfect.

That attempt at a 2 - 9 combo in the first rack, I recognize that it's a challenging shot, Strickland misses it. I don't think he would have 20 years ago. Gorst took the same combo in the final 64 and made it look easy. The nine ball went right down the center of the corner pocket.

I do agree softer tips normally can go lower and more off centre but some hard tips are very grippy and can go as far off as softs and hold chalk really well. Medium and hard tips definitely give you better draw with morr speed as you mentioned especially if cue ball is on one end of the table and ob on the other side and you need a full table or even more distant draw

Back in the day Earl would get away with moving the cue ball unnecessarily way way too much. Yes, when he was hitting on all cylinders it looked amazing but when it didn’t workout he would get himself into jams. If you look at Asis game it’s simple and uncomplicated, he only uses english when it’s absolutely necessary. Boring but effective. It would drive Earl crazy if he had to play this robotic kind of pool.

Waiting for pool to catch up to golf. Players can hit multiple clubs and get feedback from a monitor. This should be possible for pool breaks. One shaft with interchangeable weights and tips Come on Trackman©️ make this happen

I’ve never seen either one of these guys shoot this bad. It’s the way things go sometimes though, I’ve seen it happen more than once where two really good players both have off moments at the same time.

i feel like a pro of carbon fiber shafts is that start out as a hollow tube. this means that the cue maker has more control with how they want to weight the shaft. you can manipulate the balance and fillings of a carbon fiber much easier than wood.

i remember them saying the carbon fiber shafts dont scratch easily and is more durable. when i got my first predator carbon fiber shaft, i got drunk and wacked the shaft on the side of the pool table. The shock caused the shaft to shatter. carbon fiber is really hard, but its also more brittle than wood. If i did that too wood, it most likely would have dented but flexed and not have broken.

About the more english with a hard tip question versus a soft tip, my experience is a hard gives more english, but i will say that IF you have a really good stroke, you can put alot of english on, with any tip,,,, Bob Meucci has a video out explaining why a hard tip spins the ball more, his points were, a hard tip releases the cueball faster, and because the tip is hard it will spin it more, as far as the soft tip, it will absorb the cue ball, spending more time on the ball ,And get this, cause more deflection, because of the whipping of the shaft at contact, therefore throwing the cue ball more, because the tip absorbing more, seemed to make sense,,,, your info on layered tips has got me thinking now,lol, i use a hard kamui, triangle here i come!👍🎱
