Rest in peace Corey Yuen Kwai Hong Kong legends never die
Talk about throwbacks!! Used to watch these all the time and have some of the vhs’s 😂😂 👏👏👏
An OG move is when you still keep them VHS tapes with you 😂🙌
the KING of Shaw Brothers martial arts movies.
I also remember watching Reincarnated, Demi God and Semi-Devils...and Young Heroes...all from around 78-81. oh, and of course, The Condor Heroes with Felix Wong playing the lead.
wait...how come Dynasty's got the exact same theme song as Princess Cheung Ping...? and both shows got quite a lot of the same cast members, too...including David Chiang, Michelle Yam and Max Mok. I also used to watch Tai-Chi Master and its sequel, The Wandering Fighter (?), starring Alex Man, Michelle Yam, Yeung Chak-lam and Eddy Ko.
Yeah you're so right about that aspect for some of these shows. Even the sound effects and background tracks they have in some moments in these shows are very similar, haha. Maybe they had a library or curated sounds and soundtracks in the mixing studio to keep as references perhaps!
@@dragonseekspath oh, for sure. ima look for Dynasty. Haven't seen it.

I was a fan of was The Shaolin Monk with Wu Jing .Let me know if there's an Asian version of scrubs.I'd be down with that.🤣🤣🤣

Really enjoyed the selection of movies here. Great editing and use of music!
Much appreciated, brother! The synth genre had to be there cause for me, it kinda gives off Corey Yuen vibes for his films and fight scenes.
Great tribute🙏🏻🙏🏻🐉🐉

RIP to a legend in action cinema
Indeed, a rare gem within the genre. 🐲🎥🎬
I love this collage so much. The scenes, transitions, timing and feels are all on point. Very meticulously done. Love it!!! Keep up the good work 👍
@peterwong2235 Thank you for the kind words. It is much appreciated! 😊🙏
Such a sick beat too... Did you make it?
It's a catchy one isn't it? Also, no haha. It's done by a music artist named Jaffa. 😊
Love it...good editing ...if only it could be of better picture quality it would be top🥰
That’s a strong shot of nostalgia there.
Indeed, hahah!

The kitchen fight scene with the karambit's between Cecep and Iko, still has to be one of the greatest fight sequences ive ever seen. 🙏
@@Budojourney Yup, indeed one of the greatest! 🙌
When i was a kid i saw one of bruce lees movies where he busts out 2 moves. One of them was dragon wips his tail and the other one was dragon seeks path. I bet that's where you got your channel name from. He had to defend a restaurant from some thugs and ended up fighting chuck norris in the same movie. It was and still is one of my favorite Bruce Lee movies
@optimumpcyt Haha, indeed that's right! That's one of my most favourite Bruce Lee moments from Way of the Dragon. To me, that scene showed how Bruce still honored & embraced the traditional Chinese martial arts in a sense.
ngl, i was really into the raid 1 and 2 mainly for the high paced action and how cool the characters are, it made me root for Rama even more cause he was given the literal challenge of fighting people who were like equal to him, EVEN THE SIDE CHARACTERS CAN THROW HAND AS GOOD AS HIM, added bonus is the exposure of the Silat martial art which is cool
Agreed! Thanks for sharing your viewing experience and I can definitely relate to that! 😁
Im going to show The Raid to a friend today and see how he reacts
Niceeee!!! Can't wait for the reaction hahaha!
❤️
I have a massive martial arts film collection, but I can't say that I've watched a lot of the behind the scenes content. Now, I'm interested in checking out some of my favorites to see if there's any cool special features. 🙏 I am, however, aware of many stunt performers and teams that I follow on social media. Cool video, Celine! 💯👊💥
I'm glad to hear that! Indeed, there are many martial arts and action films out there, so that's understandable lol. Thanks for stopping by! 😊🙏👊
Wow....amazing talk .Love it <3 Keep going you can make it 👍💖🎧🎼🎤
Much appreciated, thanks so much! 😊🙏❤️
Definitely the definitive list of Hong Kong action shootouts.... However I'd like to add one, the end shootout in Princess Madam starring Sharon Yueng Pan Pan and Moon Lee.... You gotta check that one out
Ayyy thanks man for that, and will check that one out! Appreciate it!
What’s your favourite Stephen Chow Sing Chi movie (no matter the genre)
@dumisatonyjohnson8145 Ahh, that's a hard one!! Though, I'll say my two most fave of his are "All for the Winner," and "Fight Back to School 1." All for the Winner cracks me up every time he tries to imitate Chow Yun-Fat's God of Gamblers character 😂😂
No violent and bloody Hong Kong movie is complete with out Sandra Ng making you laugh your ass off 😂 Awesome video 👏👏🔥🔥
@l_o_c_o_666 Ayyy thanks so much for that, and YES!!! Can't go wrong with having Sandra's humor adding more flavor with the action 😂🙌💯
💎
Awesome list. For me A Hero Never Dies trumps the Mission. Johnnie To needs to get back to directing some action films already. It's been too long. The Longest Nite is my fave of his films.
Thanks! Aww yeah A Hero Never Dies is a badass film indeed. Johnnie To rarely disappoints us when it comes to the triad genre, but yes, will be waiting to see more of his work!
@@dragonseekspath Election 3 hopefully gets made at some point. I'm also hoping Sons of the Neon Night (Juno Mak) gets leaked online or comes out. Movie looked so good but apparently had a lot of production problems.
Love Hong Kong movies from Russia
Same here, and welcome! 😊🙏
Hey you're really cool and have great takes on movies.
@@Cornermouse1 Much appreciated, and thank you! 😊🙏
Amazing list. Nothing cannot beat the mayhem, chaotic & well-timed style of Hong Kong shootout.
Ayyy 100% with you on that!
Heck yeah such a rad list and of course the killer has to be number one. It was my first John woo film and first introduction to gun fu, heroic bloodshed, and bullet ballet. I love also that the mission is referenced as it’s one of my top favorite films of all time! Also I just recently saw full contact and man Ringo lam goes crazy on those shootouts and I love his over the top camera work in it. Also she shoots straights is amazing and underrated, I saw that one this year for the first time as well.
Yeah, the Girls with Guns genre is another one to look into (hopefully in the near future)! HK cinema + gunfu just hits differently you know LOL!
Gosh you are smart and charming
Thanks for stopping by, and much appreciated 😄🙏
Wow...artworks 😅
So wonderful ❤ Thanks a lot for sharing🎉
Thanks for tuning in! 😊🙏
are u located in Los Angeles?
No, Canada 🇨🇦
what's the name of the song in the background please?
I put the link of the song in the description 😊
I’m curious to see it, but I’m tapering my expectations. I definitely like Bill Skarsgard as an actor. My one observation when I first saw the trailer was that I wondered if the look of the character in this version of the Crow is meant to be inspired by Lil Peep, with the face tattoo, short hair and tall thin build. As much as I was kind of disappointed that they didn’t go for a look similar to the OG movie and graphic novel, I imagine that the producers probably felt the original Eric Draven look became so associated with that era in the 90s and the whole goth scene at the time, that they were trying to go for inspiration from a more recent look that’s already struck a chord with a similar demographic. Wondering though if people will find that look dated as well by this point, being years after Lil Peep’s death and the whole downfall of the SoundCloud style of rappers since.
Thanks for sharing your remarks! I agree with your perceptions and am also curious to see how this film goes from a different perspective. I also think the overall viewing experience is certainly going to have many mixed reviews and reactions. I think it'll go well if we're looking at it from different angles, like fight choreography, stunts, or other film elements, but narrative wise and the overall character portrayal will be up to various viewing experiences perhaps.
A measured reaction. haven't seen the original yet but i agree with most of your observations. The tones of the 80s/90s cinema was always going to be difficult to reproduce.
Despite the original version being the hallmark of Brandon's legacy and a highlight of 90s cult cinema, perhaps it would make sense that they portrayed this as an extension to the original story with new characters as to not mislead original fans of the film. However, it's definitely something that will be perceived differently for many people, especially for folks who haven't even seen the original film. Remakes and reboots can be a topic of further discussion.
I’m so glad you brought up TVB! I have several TVB series on dvd! Return of the Condor Heroes, The Last Performance both starring Andy Lau Tak Wah (one of my favorites of Asia) and I also have The Ultimate Crime Fighter starring Yuen Biao! Not all Wuxia but I love TVB the same!
Glad to hear you're also a fellow TVB fan! Love those classics you've mentioned as well. Welcome to the club 😁👊
Hard Target is awesome and so is Van Damme! It’s my favorite Van Damme film next to Bloodsport and Kickboxer!
I love Once A Thief! It is more of an underrated film I’d say since many people mention it last or not at all. Rest Peacefully Keneth Tsang and Leslie Cheung🙏🏼 You both are deeply missed!
I think the movie will have great visual, but the dialogue is too on-your-face and the villains are less interesting than 1994 version. Just like the remake of Robocop and Total Recall, it will be decent or solid film but not as iconic as Brandon Lee's version. So Brandon Lee fans, don't worry.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts on this. For me, I think this version has the potential to do well "action cinema" wise if we're looking through that lens, but I feel there's a lot more to unpack and dive deeper into once the movie hits theatres in June.
Good video - not sure why it's flickering so much.
Nice 👍
Great intro video!
Much appreciated 🙏
WOW... How wonderful !!!
Thank you! Cheers!
