Andy The Munro Eater
United Kingdom
เข้าร่วมเมื่อ 22 มี.ค. 2012
Welcome to my channel which will primarily focus on walks in Scotland but will also feature walks in Wales as well.
I'm based in Essex and travel to Scotland throughout the year to complete munro's.
I started this journey properly in April 2022, before this I'd done Ben Nevis numerous times the last being 2018 and 2 munros in Nov 2021.
In the 5 visits that I've made to Scotland in 2022 I've completed 57 munros.
Doing the videos is a recent thing so I hope you enjoy them and future videos to come.
Thanks for watching and see you soon 👊🏻

I stop off on the way home from Knoydart to bag 2 Munros, to get me to 150
Having spent the weekend in Knoydart, I catch the Monday morning ferry back into Mallaig. Whilst driving back towards home, l decide to stop off in Glencoe to grab 2 more Munro's.

Day 2 in Knoydart and the 4 of us head off to bag Ladhar Bheinn. Just doing the one Munro, and a shorter route means we have a leisurely start, and a very relaxed day.
Sgurr Mor

Sorry, this isn't the best video. The rain was quite bad and l didn't film very much, so l've not got a lot video to use. Paul and l bag Sgurr Mor from Glendessary. Not the best day for this, heavy rain and strong wind, with a pathless ascent and descent to the munro.
The Glen Dessarry 3 - It looked like it was going to be a glorious day!!!

This trip sees me travel up from Essex to join Paul to bag the Glen Dessarry Munros, 3 on day 1, Sgurr na Ciche, Garbh Chioch Mhor and Sgurr nan Coireachan, and then Sgurr Mor on day 2. Join us as we start off with glorious conditions that deteriorate as the day goes on.
The Fisherfiedls-The hardest walk I've done!!!!!
มุมมอง 8713 หลายเดือนก่อน
Friday 3rd May. After tackling Ben Wyvis that morning, I make my way to Incheril car park to meet up with the others, ready to tackle the Fisherfields Saturday and Sunday. Cycling in to Loch Fada and making our way up from there. A very taxing walk on the Saturday, but a good night sleep and I felt refreshed on the Sunday.
Ben Wyvis, an easy Munro?

After tackling The Beinn Dearg circuit yesterday, today l take on Ben Wyvis. A single, shortish Munro and just a short drive from yesterdays walk. Nice sunny conditions again but a very strong wind higher up.
I drove 600 miles in a day to do the Beinn Dearg Munro's!!!!

1st day of a trip up in May which sees me drive 600 miles up from Essex to do a 30km walk the next day, the 4 Munro's of the Beinn Dearg circuit, Beinn Dearg, Cona Mheall, Meall nan Ceapraichean and Eididh nan Clach Geala. I hope you enjoy what turned out to be a stunning day.

After The Black Carls yesterday, today we tackle the 2 Munro's of Beinn Alligin. You don't need a guide for these Munro's but with the lack of snow we decided to get back on the Munro trail.
The Black Carls, Beinn Eighe
มุมมอง 1216 หลายเดือนก่อน
Today sees me tackle The Black Carls route in Beinn Eighe. A popular winter climbing route but the recent weather meant there wasn't as much snow on top as you'd normally expect. It was still a thoroughly enjoyable day not just because of the conditions but the company #hiking #munro #winter #scenery

So another trip back up to Scotland, the 2nd one this year. Having stopped off in a lay by to get some sleep, l wake the following morning to the sight of Geal Charn and decide to do this and A Mharconaich. Mixed conditions through the day but nothing too terrible and an enjoyable walk.

@DAoutdoors Thanks Dave. Yeah, i was beginning to wonder if it would be a viewless top trip 🤣. It's a special place. ATB Andy
Congratulations on reaching 150 🏔 Andy 👏 all the more remarkable considering the amount of travel involved 😮 im glad you managed to get views at last on these two 🏔🏔 and that you managed to grab a Guinness 🍺 a meal in a glass 😂 nice one mate atb Brian 👍
@thelifeofbrian282 thanks Brian. The views felt more special as I hadn't had any that trip. Luckily, the bar didn't shut the same time, but I did have supplies in the van 😁. ATB Andy
well done on 150!

Cracking video Andy mate. Well done ATVB Alan
@MyScottishAdventures Thanks Alan. Have you got any Munros planned? ATB Andy
@andythemunroeater9884 unfortunately nothing at the moment. Started a new job a month ago. It's now trying to fit time. But I have got a new bike which am having plenty fun on that. Was out with Donny the other day. Planning more outings with him.
@MyScottishAdventures yes I saw that. Be careful on those trails 🤣. That's good mate, the mountains aren't going anywhere. ATB Andy
Some of the finest country in the UK - you can put together a 2-3 day circuit through fabulous wild country. Back in 1975, we did a soaking wet summit camp on Loony Bin with our waterlogged canvas tent and huge brass stove. We saw a strange and exotic pair of eagles hunting over Loch Hourne. When we got home we identified them as Sea Eagles, which had been extinct in Scotland since WWI. So we rang the RSPB, and they told us that they had just re-introduced them to Rum, and could we kindly keep it to ourselves to help keep them safe...
@tullochgorum6323 wow, what an interesting story about the eagles. 1975, I can only imagine how different things were back then? No lightweight equipment? I would love to go back there and spend more time exploring the area, and preferably with better weather. Thanks for the interesting comment. ATB Andy
Brilliant Andy just what i needed some great memories as not been getting out much with this weather. we still managed to have a good time even with the weather not being great. looking forward to seeing you in a few weeks for the beluga concert mate. Atb Ally 👍👍👌👌
@Allysmountainwalks6462 thanks Ally. Yes, i did notice you haven't been out much lately. That was great trip. That's the thing with me being a bit slow to get my videos out, it brings back the memories. See you soon Ally 😁.. ATB Andy
What a wet wild week that was! 7 Munros, 100k and not a view to be had! 😂😂😂. Fantastic trip though and some great memories eh!! Who needs the weather in a bangers weekend 😎😎😎 Paulo!
@@PAADVENTURES1 exactly Paul, it's all about the company 😁 I did manage to get a view when i stopped off for a sneaky 2 on my way home, which will be the next video 😎. ATB Andy
Good wee video despite the crappy weather Andy, just nice experiencing another beautiful part of Scotland and another 3 Munros 🏔🏔🏔 in the bag 🎒 from the Knoydart trip, Brilliant mate atb Brian 👍
@thelifeofbrian282 thanks Brian. Yeah it's all part of the journey. ATB Andy
Nice one Andy, pity about the clag but at least it was dry. Looking forward to getting over there next year.👍 ATB Frank
@hikingwithfrank315 Thanks Frank. You can't beat a nice view from the top unless it's an amazing cloud inversion but not a lot you can do about the weather. You might have some company by the sounds of it? ATB Andy
Hi Andy, lovely walk as always, loved watching your Knoydart adventures. Such a shame the weather wasn’t the best but still there is no such thing as a bad day out in the mountains. All the best mate 😀⛰🥾
@DAoutdoors thanks Dave. I'm glad you enjoyed them. Your right, it's good to be out in the mountains whatever. Sharing it with good mates is good as well. ATB Andy

Hope there was nae farting going on in those small digs😂😂 Btw Kudos to the photographer for that smashing photo of yourself at the beginning 😜 ATB Franko
@hikingwithfrank315 yeah, you'll love it over there Frank. Hopefully, you get the views from the top. I don't think there was any farting. If there was, it was nothing to write home about. I love that photo. I thought I'd use that at the start of my videos. Thats if it's not copyrighted? ATB Andy
