Sorry about your experience. Do you know where the leak is coming from? I’ve had mine for about 10 months in GA where we have had a ton of rain lately. After some heavy all day pours I did find a few drops near the tailgate, but I just opened the back over night in the garage and it dried out in no time. I’ve taken it through several car washes and not even a drop.
The rubber hinges have started separating/cracking apart on mine, Bakflip sais they dont sell replacement hinge strips & i need to buy a new $1200 cover RIP OFF!! do you still have yours? Do they slid apart easily?
Interesting. I originally was getting water in around the tailgate, but after adjusting the cover, I only seem to get a few drips at the edges of one of the joints. Even through carwashes and heavy rains. When putting it together, I did look at the rubber seals at the joints and fiddled around a little bit to see that they fit and sealed nicely. When it arrived, a couple of the rubber caps at the end had come out, which I reinserted. Nothing about that in the instructions, just looked off and confirmed from other places that it should have been inserted. Sorry to hear yours a leaking so bad. I don't know anyone personally that has had that issue, part of the reason I bought it.
Where did u buy it ?
Were you using the drains that come with it? Mine gets water in the bed as well. However mine is hail damaged now and looks horrible anymore so. Don't know if I should even care at this point
Yep, the drains work fine. The cover just won't seal properly.
I’m on my second one, just installed this AM. I had one on my last truck for 10 years. I personally think they are great covers. Never had a problem with leaking but I guess I’ll see with this new one. What I did notice is the panels seem to be a bit thinner from ten years ago,my last cover the panels were downright heavy and this new one not so much. Also the mounting clamps are half as beefy as my last one.
I wish I had seen this before I purchase one. My leaks bad. I want my money back but I don't guess that is going to happen.
Considering that the weight wasn't "evenly distributed", that tap dancing test was pretty impressive.
That's what I was going to say. That was 200lbs in about a square foot area. (or 2 rectangular feet... 😂)
I couldn’t comment on your video on the LG washer (how to drain the water) I want to thank you Sooooo much for that video. It was short and to the point but it helped a lot! Since I have LG washer that wouldn’t drain and it’s working! Thank you soooo much!
