You are correct, my friend. I've had a fascination with fear since I was very young. It is most likely too late for me now, I must continue to walk the path, FEAR can be used as a great tool, Courage is not the absence of FEAR Rather the ability to control and harness fear to overcome somthing far bigger than fear itself, everything you've ever wanted, is waiting for you on the other side of your comfort zone. @AndrewReilly-of3rx What do you mean by the right side of history if you don't mind me asking? And yes I totally agree, the state of the world in a time of such prosperity and opportunity is sad to think the potential path we are on. But I suppose we must all just make the most of what we can control, and hope for the best.

@@adventurebeasts basically we are told we fought the world wars (20 million and 70/85 million people dead respectively) then at least 2/3 trillions $ on the cold war - Vietnam alone cost the US around 190/195 billions - between 1945-1991 and now we are where we are the biosphere (the quantity of plants and animals) is less than 30% of what it was in 1970, by every metric life in the 1st world is declining just one example the birth rate has collapsed all over the world this only happens when a country loses a general or total war or -as it's global - when civilizations no longer believes in itself! This makes me think maybe we didn't do the right thing or even that our history is problematic so were/are we on the right side of history I no this feels counter intuitive but go with it do the what ifs as a thought experiment and see what you think because this sure as day doesn't feel like victory to me.

@AndrewReilly-of3rx Wow, you've really given me a lot to think about. I get where you're coming from when you look at the state of the world today, it's hard not to question whether the sacrifices of the past led us to a better future. The decline in biodiversity, collapsing birth rates, and the global challenges we're facing can definitely make it seem like something went wrong along the way. I think your "what ifs" thought experiment is an important one. Sometimes it's worth reflecting on history not just as it was told but as it actually unfolded. Maybe the lessons we were taught aren't as straightforward as they seem. Ultimately, I guess it brings us back to the importance of each of us trying to steer things in the right direction, however small that impact might be. Thanks again for sharing your thoughts, these kinds of discussions are what keep things interesting!
