This being the beginning of my trucking journey, I look forward to all the life lessons, connections, relationships and friendships I’ll make along the way. If anyone have any suggestions please feel free to voice them to me.
Hey I started with swift 25 years ago and since have been driving trucks ..my question is how much a trainer make at swift?😊
What are the things they red flag on the hair follicle test? I quit smoking weed a year ago, am I screwed?
Why you stop making videos
Good morning how is swift?
How many weeks is 200 hours?
At 6:01 that’s concerning.
When did you get orientation pay from class?
Can’t wait Monday and love my account I’m in 💪🏾💪🏾💪🏾💪🏾💪🏾
I’m going to orientation tomorrow! Yaaay!
How did that go?
Hey Erick thank you sharing and helping others with this valuable information. I’m new in the trucking industry and it’s hard to get an opportunity without experience but after that thanks to Swift company, more doors will open to achieve our goals. Take care!!
Eric, got a call from recruiter told me school for CDL start every Monday, I could come in for a one month class any Monday. She said I would he housing and cost was $9000 and a 1 year contract . I will go with a mentor for 200 hours which is a week?? Then I get my own truck and start driving interstate? I just turn 21 and some people are telling this sounds wrong because interstate is 23 year olds? Also hearing pay is bad after all cost are deducted? Do I get a truck after mentor time, Is CDL school paid training or am I not paid until I get a truck?
I'm bald and clean shaven.... guess where they're going to have to take hair from? ;)
What did you make first year
Hi Eric my name is Jeremiah from born and raised in Dallas Texas I'm living in North Richland hills hotel or for TruGreen I'm going to the transition in my life I'm hoping that Swift can help me out and I can change my career be a truck driver maybe you can reach back out to me and give me some advice what I'm going through right now and maybe see if it will take me
Hi. Did you have to do a pretrip, backing test, and written exam at orientation or just at the end of your driving training?
im starting to start with them upcoming month, im a firm believer in seeing things for myself. i was asked multiple questions about who i want to be my trainer, if i want a smoker or non smoker, male or female i said either or, im eager to start and get my training done to be on my own. said ill be appointed to the eastern region, but a lot of negative things are being said, such as pay, or how they got ripped off,i really dont care, ill experience that for myself, they did say itll be a day of orientation for me which would just be paperwork,i seen your last video about orientation, im also from florida. just curious if they told you the same thing about orientation being a day. i couldnt get into the flatbed side due to not enough work coming in to the state, i think i am doing dry. i will be packing like if im riding out same day just incase, they told me they there is a slight chance i might go out,if not itll be 3-5 days before i get one near a yard near me. not sure if youre still with swift but wish you all the best man.
How pay for orientation
Hi I am from Kissimmee, Florida If I don’t use my car . Swift provide transportation to orientation?
Got a question how is Swift with background checks because I have a felony conviction from 2000 and are they a 2nd chance company? I recently got my CDL
I start with Swift in a few weeks. Do they train you? I got my CDL but I've been out of school for 6 months.
What king test they take
With the vest and the shirts, do the drivers get flip flops?
No sir, unfortunately…
@@EricButler1 what do I have to take with me during orientation?

Thank you, for your video very informative!!
Also make sure you have that safety lock on the back of the doors because some one tail you on the highway and report you .
Hey bruh.. liked the video.. I'm a new Swift driver... you answered alot of questions.
thanks for the content.. are you OTR, regional or local ?? are you still with Swift ??
I don’t have a lot of hair small beard like it doesn’t grow lol how much hair do they need?
Did you stay with truck driving?
Did you have to share hotel rooms? The email with the itinerary looks like it makes you have roommates?
Damn so if you can't write well that's a problem.. man there's always something kicking me down...
How long did you wait to be out on with a trainer after your orientation?
Did you have to commit 26 months?
No, I got my CDL's from an outside school.
REPENT AND FOLLOW JESUS CHRIST BEFORE ITS TOO LATE 🔴،.
Thank you sir
All the best
Nice video, question, what about English test?
Its bad at all. You do need to understand, speak and write fairly well. if you fail they will allow you to take it as many times as you can.
Are they big on the background check? My driving record is clean no accidents no DUI. I have a felony tho
I also have a back ground. depends on what it is and how long. its not too strict though
Do ya really need the music for the whole video?
I’ve addressed this multiple times regarding this concern. Thanks for watching and I’ll be sure to keep that in mind for the future videos.
Hey Erik I have a question if I fail the test whit swift They don’t give me the job ?
You can re take it. they won't cut you just for that unless it was something serious. You'll be fine
Thank you for this information. I'm coming from West Virginia to the Columbus Ohio orientation this Monday. Catching a bus that way. 9/11/2023
Glad it was helpful! Good Luck...
What is involved in the skills test? I am going through Ocala. Thanks man!
The skills test is super easy. They just have you do a straight back, you drive around the block to make sure you know how to turn without hitting curbs. If you hit a curb you automatically fail but you can redo it again immediately. That’s what they did with us and I tested in Richmond, VA. They might have you do some other maneuvers but it’s all good man. Good luck to you.
@@EricButler1 is it done in a 28 foot pup or 48 foot longbox?
I heard they make you pay back the hotel cost for orientation. Is that true??
No sir, not true at all… they pay you $300 for orientation. They don’t charge for your hotel, That’s false information my guy.
How is swift now that you’ve been working for a while? Or if you left, why did you leave and where did you go? Also, Has your pay or mileage lowered since you made this video?
I worked for swift for 7 months before I parted ways with the company. They were great overall with some complaints but nothing too serious. I primarily left because of pay but that’s something everyone will deal with if you’re just starting out. I was gone too often away from the family and the compensation just didn’t justify me being gone the amount of time, which was 3 weeks to a month at a time just to make enough money for the weeks I was gone. If you go home every two weeks you’re cutting into your earnings potential because they have to get you home, instead of just racking up the miles for longer periods before you go home. Now if you’re single it will work fine if you’re ok with being out on the road. That’s what they don’t explain, the fact that, really the only way you’re going to make decent income is to stay out on the road longer. In the end it still wasn’t enough. I was able to find a local job which pays quite a bit more and I’m home everyday. I’m making close to 2k a week and I get to sleep in my bed every night, and I’m still considered a newbie so no complaints. This is what I was hoping for. However I still feel that Swift is a really good company to learn all the nuances of trucking and get that beginner experience. Some people actually stayed with Swift long enough to where they are actually making really good money now and there’s ways but it wouldn’t have worked for me so I had to do what was right on my behalf. Still a well run company.
@@EricButler1 Thanks
What's the money like
They money was not that great just starting out I was averaging around $1000 to $1200 after tax and I was generally gone for 3/4 weeks at a time. My lowest check was around $400 and the most wast around $1300. There’s ways to make more than that though. Just didn’t work for me. A lot to do with where you live and if you can run longer out on the road.
@@EricButler1 Thanks for the info bro!
Informative video, but the loud noise ✍️
Noted. I’ll keep that in mind. A few people mentioned the noise. Thanks for the feed back🙏🏾
Thank you Sr
You’re welcome. All the best…
Is there a physical agility test?
No
