I love the versatility of zip loc bags! I use them to organize my clothes by type, to pack a full spare outfit in my personal item in case the airline says I have to check my carry on, or as a small hand washing bag. They are also useful to store a 1st aid kit.

I’ll be taking a 13 day Princess cruise of New Zealand and Australia next year. Luckily Princess has laundry facilities for passengers. Now to figure out what I can fit into my carryon suitcase and stay within the airline weight limit of 7 kg.

I was able to pack carryon bag for a 7 day Mediterranean Cruise last year. I packed travel pants that are good for day or night light weight enough to wash and wear again.

You and your ilk should stick to Carnival. For a 7 day cruise I take a different sport coat/dinner jacket for each night and TIES. Classy is as classy does. FYI, today's luggage comes on wheels so you can tow it. I miss the pre-Casual Friday attitude. Cruising can be fun AND luxurious.

I always overpack, I don't understand it. I don't know why I think that the one dress I haven't seen in 2 years is something I'm going to need on a cruise? 😮

I pack in one bag, that fits under the seat on mainstream airlines, but might need to go above on smaller planes (28L). Even for cruises! I pack for three to five days no matter the length of the cruise and days before. Plan on laundry, plan on rewearing all the clothes. I use one basic color palette (olive and brown or olive and black) with the occasional added color (such as a skirt with print, a scarf, or shirt, and I tend to rust, peacock blue or purple). Two pairs of shoes. I use sandals for chic night (who is looking?), a sport sandal for trekking, flights, heavy walking. (The sandals will do fine in towns, too) I bring a wool long sleeve T on every trip because evenings with wind can be chilly, compared to the day (and the ship AC is frigid to me). Sun hat, toiletries (including my skincare and chic night makeup), tech (tablet, not laptop). A zip lock for washing and quartered laundry detergent sheets (or a 100ml bottle of Dr Bronners peppermint soap). I use the towels to roll and wring the clothes. I even have room for watercolor supplies.
