How To Hang A Poster Without A Frame (DIY Poster Wall Hanging/ DIY Poster Frame)
มุมมอง 8K2 ปีที่แล้ว
#homedecorideas #vintagedecor #diydecor Here's a tutorial on how to hang a poster on your wall without a frame. This method has vintage wall hanging vibes and works especially well for decorative wrap posters (the ones that look like old textbook illustrations). To me, they look like poster tapestries (kinda). Depending on how you choose to style it, the finished wall hanging gives #cottagecore...

Decorating A Halloween Tree (A Spooky Christmas Tree DIY)
มุมมอง 3733 ปีที่แล้ว
#halloweentree #spookychristmastree In this video I share some ideas for decorating a Halloween Tree. It's like a Christmas tree, but for Halloween. I'm sorta going for an elegant, gothic tree theme but had no concrete design plan before starting. This is such an easy way to decorate for Halloween and can be done rather cheaply too! Styrofoam skull ornaments and candy corn sticks were only a co...

I love simple and cheap 😊
This short is a masterpiece 😂
Thanks
any thoughts on how to keep a 1962 lithograph safe/hung ? i was quoted $225 for a gold frame but am not sure the thing will survive going in and out of the poster tube. just ripped in 2 places today. boo. i thought linen backing but the museum framer i saw today rx against it b/c glue will be absorbed by the print eventually. no matter how well the glue is applied, it will come through and could impact colors.
Was the framing quote from someplace like Michael's? They usually have coupons and you bring the thing you want framed into the store. You wouldn't have to mail it out in a tube (I'm assuming that's what the tube was for?).
Omg your video style is adorable. P.s. I’m also from Texas!!!
Thank you so much, fellow Texan! I've actually moved to NY now for work. But Texas will always have a place in my heart.
Those are sooo cute!!
Thank you!!
Thank you so much! And btw just a reminder that i hope you are doing well and that Jesus Loves you.❤😊
was wondering if this exact thing was possible, love the results!! thanks you for the tutorial!!
You're a blast- watched the pompom one, with zero desire to make one, after watching my real question answered well and in such a fun way. I hope you have more likes than it looks like ! Keep going+ in my view you are worthy of great success (whatever that means to you). For now I have subscribed. Adding FUN is way good, Thanks
Thank you so much. This comment actually means a lot. I know the channel has been quiet but I have more ideas and I really want to get back into it this summer. I appreciate the encouragement! ❤️
Just found you because of Pinterest! So excited too. My cousin is doing a celestial themed wedding and of course she wants custom shoes!! Love your tutorial.
Thank you so much! That sounds like an amazing theme. Let me know how they turn out and tell her I said congrats!
Hi! I came across this video while searching Sailor Moon yarn crafts. I just want to say that this is the cutest pom pom i have ever seen! i will def be trying this out! <3
Thank you! Let me know how it turns out!
Super cool☺️
Thank you!
I also tried to use the hoes but my wife got angry. What to do now?
Pneumonal absolutely pneumonal love ❤ it 🏴
Awesome. Thanks
So cute! I don’t have this skill. Ahaha ❤
Thank you! You could always try on a scrap bit of fabric first!
Adorable 😊
Great video, thanks! Do you have a suggestion for me; I am trying to do this with my movie poster, which is kinda thicker. And it's also sitting in a roll for a long time, so I am afraid if I hang it in your way, it will not hang flat. What do you recommend I do to flatten it?
Good question! Try this first: Lay the poster flat on a table or the floor near a window that gets a lot of sun. Place something heavy like books on top to flatten it. Leave it in the sun for atleast a few hours. But leave the books on the poster until the sun goes down and the poster doesn't feel warm any more. This might make the poster paper's fibers, the inks and any coatings expand or relax. The weight of the book keeps it flat until things cool down. It's like training the poster to hold a different shape. The longer it can lay flat under the weight, the better. If that doesn't work or if there's still a bit of a curve left try this: Weigh the bottom piece of the "frame" down when hanging. You might be able to get those big, round fridge magnets and glue them along the bottom on the back. The 3/4" ones might be a good size/weight combo. Or if you're able to find a heavier "dowel" or wood strip for the back on the bottom. Home Depot/Lowes sometimes have ones labeled hardwood or oak that are heavier than the ones I used. Let me know how it turns out!~
How much yarn do you use on each one? I love all of them. Cool. I hate candy corn too
So sorry I didn't see this comment earlier! It depends on the size (and tbh a lot of it gets trimmed off). I just measured and for a pompom maybe 2-3 inches in diameter it's roughly 35 yards/32 meters. So you can definitely get quite a few pompoms out of one yarn skein!
Watching this back years later, I wish I used a different dye. RIT has *never* stayed for me. This shirt faded almost entirely 5 washes later. If you're tryingthis maybe check out Jaquard dyes (Joann's usually has them). I've heard they're more vibrant but I haven't tried it myself yet.
Very cute 💞
Thank you!
All the effort doesn’t look that much better than regular tie-dye
I did this so long ago, there's definitely a lot I'd do differently if I did this again.
I'm not sure what just happened, but it was cute and made me happy ❤
Love this!!!!!
Thank you!! (why is there no gingerbread cookie emoji? lol)
awesome, I'm definitely going to try this out? Any advice for if you make the ear part a bit too heavy or should I just make a new piece at that point?
if it's still wet, a new piece is likely easier But if it's dry you can try to carve or shave some off. Use a rough grade sandpaper to start, it'll go faster. You can use scissors to trim up any of the loose strands after. Or put a thin layer of plaster/plaster tape over the loose thread area when you're done.
I need a Christmas one ASAP 😮😍
So fun and awesome! Thanks for sharing!
Thank you! and no problem. 🎃👻👁️
Wow these are awesome thank you
No problem! Have fun!!
Yooo this actually lit ASF, gotta try it Thanks
Hell yeah! 😈
I hate candy corn too it’s my least favorite candy. Now that candy corn Pom Pom I would totally eat. Every year I want to decorate my room but I don’t have any money cause I’m only 13 but I’m starting to sell bracelets and mini canvas and have my own channel and plus I love making Poms poms ssoooo much so this is a perfect cheap way to decorate my room plus who don’t love pom poms there so fluffy and cute
Pom poms are friends, not food. Even though they are small and cheap like candy 🎃 Best way to decorate!
Lol
just saw this on Amazon listed too costly, but then suddenly found your vid
Sweet! Those tapestry poster kits are always so much more expensive than they ought to be. Glad to help!
@4:30- what are those gold colored wall stencils?!!just curious
Those are actually freehanded tigers! I used Glidden colors Mac n Cheese and Terracotta
So you're not going to neutralise the bleach? You're a fan of getting holes in your clothing then?
You definitely can use a neutralizer to be extra careful. But In my experience rinsing thoroughly and then washing the item by itself (twice) has been enough. I have not had any problems with holes forming from the bleach even a year+ later.
You've just opened up a whole world for me. I have some very cute little posters that I just haven't known what to do with....thank you!!! Yours look beautiful and this video shows just how easy it is!!! And your assistant is very cute💕🐱
Hooray! (also assistant baby says hi)
Super glad this came across a rarely-visited dash the moment I was looking at it - you just solved a massive problem of mine (literally, it's about 6' x 2.5')
Awesome! Glad this helped!
That looks more like melted ice cream on your face
lol. The worst flavor.
Can you do the Ken kaneki mask 🤔
Ooh, the zipper could be interesting to do.
I made 3!! Thank you for showing me how!! I love it!!💕
Yay! ❤️❤️❤️
This video is everything!!!❤
Every one is getting pom poms for Christmas this year. 🙃
I’m about to try this with a 64/34 cotton poly blend, with the synthetic dye more. Wish me luc. When I used it in my sneakers it came out great, and on the second go I found that the more dye I used the better(especially with light colors)
Good luck!
@@AdennFox it’s 2 am in Nj and I just finished washing my shirt out. ITS AMAZING! Thanks so much for your help!! The colors are dark and full. I hand washed it afterwards with soap and water, and all the colors held perfectly! I’m so excited, and I’m definitely thinking about opening up shop. Also because you said the colors came out light on second pass, I decided to ad a little more die and swirls before placing the bac down,?and the colors are slightly lighter but extremely full. You can barely tell the difference (while wet). I used all synthetic dye more, and a 64/36 cotton/Polly long sleeve. 😁😁😁😁😁🎉🎊🍾🥳🍻👏🏾
@@kalithechamp1412 That's awesome!! Good call on adding more dye for the second pass.
@@kalithechamp1412 just curious Kali you mentioned "opening up shop" did you mean make and sell crafts that you have made? The reason I asked you to clarify is that's my goal someday. I have a bedroom with TONS of materials I've been buying a little over 7-8 years. If you or anyone else could "guide" me with any advice on how to sell my crafts, easy to make and sell crafts, etc. would be appreciated. I've always wanted to make clothes and/or accessories for animals... especially dogs. For example..bling a dog collar, dress up food/water bowls, etc...sorry for babbling. Thank you for your time!!! 👍
Kinda look like a Dixie cup 🤣🤣. I love it tho. You def helped me out! I’m getting ready to marble dye some sneakers and so I too bought more dye thinking it would work with my shirt. Now I know otherwise 🤦🏾♂️, so thank you. I had no idea I needed the regular dye for cotton, I thought “dye more@ would be all inclusive, not exclude the original 😪. I have a question tho, if the shirt IS a blend do you think the synthetic dye would work on it?and after looking it up, if doesn’t work I don’t understand why rit says it dyes everything including blends and cottons 😪
YES it absolutely looks like a Dixie cup. I can't unseen that now. lol What are your sneakers made of? I've found RIT works great on fabric Converse type shoes, especially if you let the dye sit for a long time. If they're more like a synthetic leathery material, there are dyes specifically for leather. Though I've never tried to marble them so I can't say how well they work.
@@AdennFox I’m just seeing this, but the sneakers are Nike Air Force 1. They are either leather / synthetic leather.
The eyes are so cool! Thanks for the tutorial and for showing the cardboard tool!
No problem! I'm so glad it was helpful!
You did a great job! Now I wanna have a Halloween tree this year! 💀 🦇 🕸️ 🎃
Thank you! You definitely should! A friend of mine did a Beetlejuice theme on her tree once.
Bonjour c'est après combien de temps qu'il faut laver s'il vous plaît ?
laissez le colorant tremper sur la chemise pendant 30 minutes. (excuses pour la traduction approximative de google !)
let the dye soak into the shirt for 30 minutes. (apologies for the rough google translation!)
Thank you so much!!
Very cute!
I love your tree! Super cute
So nice
Thank you!
Great directions! Thank you...late for this Halloween, but I might just make some to keep around the house...or hide in grandkids' rooms...
