When setting up your network settings choose manual for DNS and set the primary to 45.7.228.197 and secondary to 0.0.0.0. Then just play online like usual. I haven't run into too many players randomly though. You'll probably need to ask around discord, reddit, and other places to see if you can get people on.

I bounce around between a ton of games but everytime I've played this there have been multiple games up and the games seem to fill up fairly quick for an older game. We've only played this on Saturday nights so not sure how it is other days.

@SonicusZ did you experience any black screen issues? No splitter necessary?.

@@Herozonex200 I will sometimes get a brief black screen but it's rare. My whole setup is I use component cables from my PS3 into a component switcher since I stream from other consoles as well. From that I run it through a retrotink 5x to upscale it and output through HDMI and then that goes into my capture card.

When you go into your network settings after selecting custom for the first question It should ask you to select a connection method which you'll choose wireless instead of wired. Next for the WLAN settings I usually just pick scan and that should display your wifi network. Select it and then the next part will have you enter the password for it. After that it should be the same as setting it up for wired. I think there is one model of PS3s that doesn't have wifi so hopefully that's not the case for you.

The Socom game that used the move controller was SOCOM 4, which killed off this series and the studio. It was a horrible game. They tried making it more like COD but it just turned into run and gun, spawn killing, grenade spamming hell! I did have some fun with the single player at least. I don't know how this SOCOM was back in the day, but playing it now I find it very similar to the old PS2 games and I actually like it. Although I suck at it lol.

Tony Hawk had online play starting with THPS3! Most of these games have been brought back online now too! I just wish more people were online.

Sad to hear that. I've never really had a bad experience with them other than they can sometimes be much better than me haha.

For some reason I never bothered with the multiplayer for this back in the day. I just played through the campaign with a friend and didn't touch the game again until recently. Wish I did though. Seems like this would be really fun with a large group.

What are you playing on? What region? Had no problem with NTSC with unmodded hardware. These games can be iffy though. The fan servers sometimes don't work right and we've had some connection issues with games here and there resulting in us resetting the game multiple times until we could connect.

@SonicusZ me and my buddy couldn't even get NTSC to get online, PAL gets online. We can see eachothers games but we can join eachother

I used to use a similar program called XBC back in the day. I actually liked playing on that more than xbox live. So many awesome custom games!

@@SonicusZ Xbox Connect was so awesome. I remember using it to play Halo:CE online with friends before Halo 2 ever came out. we all had terrible internet tho so the ping was so bad. I remember having to lead sniper shots like 4 inches in front of the player when shooting across the map on sidewinder. But even on blood gulch most shots had to be led an inch or so

While I haven't tried the game out on PS5 yet, My guess is it won't work. I've played JakX on PS5 and that version doesn't let you use any network features.

Well almost! Never played the ones with the stupid skateboard controller. There might be a random side game I missed too but otherwise I've been playing Tony Hawk since the first game!

Man the days of server browsers and randomly making friends with people who liked the same servers as you. Not having to worry about your K/D or any stats at all. Not having to worry about unlocking the latest thing or keeping up with the meta. And not having an update completely change the game! Just hop on and have fun!

I actually love getting recommendations so thanks! I currently use an unmodded 60GB PS3 to play all these PS2 and PS3 games online, so I'm unable to play most of the games you mentioned at the moment. Urban Chaos looks like it'll work though however it's kinda expensive. I will keep a lookout for it though. Probably a good game to add to my collection as well!

Thanks I look forward to you joining us! I would love to do some 360 games. Problem is that you still need a subscription to play them online which none of us have anymore. They even made it nearly impossible to use programs like xlink kai, which we use to play OG xbox games online. So sadly we probably won't be playing 360 games anytime soon.

People got a new server up. You just need to go into your network settings and change your primary dns to 185.194.142.4 and your secondary to 1.1.1.1

If you're on discord join the PSONE group. Someone there should be able to help you.

We play 4 the most but this is becoming more popular since 4 has some issues keeping track of players.

Yeah we are. These games are soo much fun!

We've done a small amount of co-op so far. Might get the video up soon. Also we will be playing Haze co-op August 30th. I look forward to killing Halo!

TDM seems to be quite active still and yeah I haven't noticed any modders.
