We can't count on turnovers, penalties, & mistakes. We're a top 15 program. We need to act like it. Everybody steps up. Put up 35+pts, & just win the game. Otherwise we're a perennial 7 win team.

Nobody expected AUB to do anything. They haven't had a winning season in 6 yrs, 2nd yr head coach. This is Drinks 5th season, coming off an 11 win season. MIZ went out & spent a ton in the portal. #13 portal rankings. We put all our eggs in this basket to win it this year. Cook, Burden, Wease, Mookie Cooper, Nate Noel, Marcus Carroll are all gone after this season. That's the QB1, WR1-3, RB 1-2. 3 OL gone. On def NT, Joker, 2 LB, FS gone. And those are by far the best def on the team. Next year is a rebuild year. This is it for MIZ. This is a must win for us.

There are two problems with this team that are clear just from observation without stats. 1) The left side of the OLine is bad. Green is out of position & looks like he doesn't know the playbook. Cooks run into him twice on potential TD runs. He gets beat. Marcus Bryant just isn't good enough. I don't know the PFF grades, but they look awful. Cook doesn't have time to pass, & it's crowded in the pocket. 2) DBs are playing awful. There were at least 6 blown coverages against UMASS where their QB either overthrew, underthrew, or just didn't see the guy. If they connect on 4 of those throws we prob lose that game. There was no difference between A&M & UMASS as far as the defense. UMASS lacked the talent to execute, every team we play from here on out will. Solutions? OL: Cook Rolls out to negate the pass rush. Cook runs the ball. Cook throws on the run. Mitchell Walters plays more. DBs: Marcus Clarke is the only guy who stepped up last game. Sack, TFL, strip FF. Love the aggression. Pride needs to sit. He hasn't played a good game yet. Norwood, Wayne, & Deloach start? Travez, , Burks, Carnell, & Greco play saf/star? Norwood got burned several times @UMASS. It can't be speed b/c we were much faster than UMASS just out of position all the time.

When do we play a fun game this season?

The "lessor rosters" Tigers will win. And i will have exactly one more beer than normal to ensure maximum loudness out of Todd. Thanks Hugh.

Listening To HCDG talk, it seems like in the offense they will be filtering everything through Mark Mitchell in different spots throughout the year. Much similar to how a Kobe Brown worked in the offense the first year. I really like that we have multiple point of attack defenders and also Multiple Drive and Kick guys which will really help our shooters get some great open looks this season.

Well hopefully now that the powerhouse UMass at the legendary stadium of McGuirk is over, Drink can take his lesser team and go on to fight the Tigers of Auburn, a team, which Hugh Freeze has done less with more. *PS thank you Hugh Freeze for giving that bullitin board material for the players.

Good guys 40+ something to 3, this game is truly irrelevant in terms of big picture so just looking forward to getting out of this one hopefully healthy for the Auburn game.

Huge Mizzou fan here, but let's face it Mizzou isn't a team deserving of a Top 20 rating. They have the talent, they just need better coaching. Drinkwitz, Batoon and Moore were all pathetic last week and honestly have been terrible the entire year. With all the talent they have on this team, their is no excuse ( besides maybe that QB Cook is awful ) to be struggling like they are.

Well telling by how the Tigers have looked this year, this should be a very competitive game, that comes down to the wire 🤔😒😂🤣

Can we start talking about Eli's lack of a "killer instinct?" He seems perfectly fine winning close games. I mean, hate on Huepel all you want. At least he tries to have his team win convincingly every game. The margin of eaking out close games game in and out out and coming out with a winning record, is so small. I mean, you could play really well for 55 minutes of a game, but one play by the other team can swing the entire momentum of the game. Like we have a talented roster, why does every win have against P4 teams have to be a "phew we won that by the skin of our teeth" type of game.

Marvin Burks missed two open the field tackles that resulted in TD’s, definitely missing JC Carlies back there.

You say Drew Pyne isnt good, and that's fine...But Cook is horrible. Literally ANYONE is better than the option we have at quarterback right now.

What I think you guys are missing here on the refs (although I agree we still lose) is that those first 2 ref calls (the bad PI and then the amazingly astute TD callback) just sunk the morale of the team...and Burden was leading the charge on that one. Someone needs to get in that kids ear and tell him to grow up a little and stop throwing hissy fits when things don't work out. When your best player can't handle adversity, no one else will be able to either.

Idk how yall do it. Mizzou plays like that and I just wish I had one app that would go through all my other apps and mute all things Mizzou and cfb related. I don’t even want to know there is such a thing as cfb.

McGuirk Alumni Stadium is the loudest stadium in the country, absolutely just the biggest fan base ever. I also heard LB3 was gifted a snugie as seen on TV from 2010 by UMass athletics.

This games was all about the talent level and coaching. A&M has the better roster, and the better coach

Cook will never throw to the middle of the field so it’s very easy for the defense because they only need to defend the sides of the field.

I think it’s time to see what Pyne can do. I don’t see Cook taking us anywhere. He is a subpar to average quarterback at best.

Is it possible this Mizzou team would really benefit right now going on the road against a tough opponent like A&M? Maybe through the first four weeks, it wasn’t just a little sleepwalking through the competition but also being at home, all the distractions and shenanigans around campus before the game. When you’re on the road, there’s nothing really to distract you. You’re there for one reason, which is the game and hopefully they will up their level of focus?

A year or two ago the team explicitly stated that they changed their pass schemes to put the #1 and #2 in a vertical line up the field so that way Cook wouldn't have to check off his other receivers, just look up and down that one line then hit the 1 or 2. Now, maybe that was because the 2022 O-line couldn't protect him and they want him to just get rid of the ball ASAP, but I'm sure they noticed that he can't check down. I feel like he stares down the #1 the whole time. Much like movie Batman, he is unable to turn his neck. But that surely can't be true or he'd be getting picked left and right. Right?

In terms of the headsets, they showed Kirby Moore and an assistant (not even sitting next to Moore!) calling the plays into a walkie talkie. So whatever worst case scenario you're imagining with Moore, it's not happening because he doesn't communicate with Brady Cook.

It's not talked about how much Drinkwitz (an extremely conservative play caller) kicks field goals and how that was okay because he had Mevis to lean on. And what was his plan for this year? Exactly more of the same but without that kicker.

Cook had guys open he just can’t read the field. He has regressed and is playing like it’s his first start. You can’t play scared.

MAUK WAS DA MAN! Most winning QB in MIZ history. Had they not given him the boot at 4-0 to put lock in we wouldn't have been 4-8, been 10-2, & not screwed up our program & recruiting moving forward. Horrible take.

Right now we look like a team that digested way too much of our preseason hype and think we're better than what we actually are. I would say its obvious at this point that Drink is an unbelievable recruiter and possibly below average coach.. This game was a chess match and he was playing checkers.. Pride taunting the Vandy kicker for missing that FG was low class garbage behavior on a day where your kicker missed 3 of them and you won a game that you should have lost. Way too much chest beating for making standard plays while playing sloppy football in the process. The team that showed up yesterday will get ran off Kyle Field if they don't take a long hard look in the mirror over the next couple weeks and start playing to the standard they have set for themselves. Our offense needs to be going through Noel until we figure out how to consistently open things up in the passing game and the O-line develops better cohesion in protection.

Good take on the defenses the Tigers will see down the road....don't worry about the long ball.
