If you’re going out in the woods during hunting season you should be wearing blazer orange. Not that it’s going to stop some idiot from shooting at you. Happened to me that why I stopped hunting during gun season and only did bow hunting

You would be shocked at the lengths DNR will go to catch a poacher. Remember, they are federal, not state, and they got the recourses, and they will use them. As they should. You might be the reason those people do get caught.

I truely enjoyed going on adventure with you,I use to do that ,not much ground around here ,its all privatlly owned with no tresspassing signs,as far as Oyster mushrooms ,their all good no matter what they grow on,I live in Iowa,they mostly grow on dead elms here,don't stop what your doing,I will follow you thru the trees.

Too many people and not enough lakes

It's hard to believe there are that many people that are too lazy to take care of their trash!

Just a little additional info on situations such as this. The game wardens will attempt to locate the owners of the vehicles that they knew were in the area. If one of them is the poacher, they will figure it out. Beyond that they really don't have much of a chance to catch whoever was responsible. Unfortunate.

My dog that I hike with I found in the woods. I have no idea how he made it to his life when I found him. He was just a pup. He has a pack mentality. He will not move unless I do. He will not relieve himself unless he finds a spot where other animals have. They let the water down on my lake and I found a bunch of grave stones. This lake was made in 1953 by a dam. It is common knowledge that they made a entire town move away. They tore down the buildings but just flooded the graveyards.

It's good you showed the deer. That life. Life can be ugly and we need to be confronted with that so we know what to do or not to do. There is way to much censorship going on these day anyway.

There's also a mesh bag that onions come in and sometimes potatoes as well. I usually use those when I mushroom hunting.

Need to pick up glass because it can cause a fire, like a magnifying glass.

Nothing worse than a poacher, they aren't even hunters, they are unethical killers.

It's possible that deer had CWD or chronic wasting disease. It is very common for older and adult deer. It causes movement problems then death that deer probably had that issue.

I had a pet raccoon as a boy. He was about a 30 lb Coon and he had a pen that was multi-levels and in the bottom level is where he went to the bathroom. We'd let him in the house and he'd go to the back door and want out and he'd run all the way out to the barn. Go into his little shack, go to the bottom, go to the bathroom and come back and want back in the house. His name was trouble and he lived up to it.
