    Thank you - a very useful video. These are superb models, and if fitted with working Ellis Clark drophead buckeye couplings they can be attached to locomotives or to other coaches equipped with three-link couplings (provided that the coupling heights are compatible). The circlips can be carefully removed using a small pair of pliers with the bogies in situ, but it is quite a tricky operation getting the central pins of the circlips back into position through the small holes (as they are difficult to see) in the replacement couplings. A pair of forceps will be needed to hold the springs and washers in place when relocating them. I was wondering if it would be possible to fit drop-down couplings with hooks, either as standard, or as an option for future releases.

    Have you done a video on fitting these to the Heljan Mk2 coaches? I just received one and I’d like to replace Heljan’s dropheads with yours - but could ise some guidance. Thanks in advance!

    A very helpful video, however you made an error when putting in the circlip for the buffers. You have to push the spring backwards and then put in the circlip. Then you get a buffer that is sprung, i.e. a buffer that will spring to the outward position and can be pushed in and not a buffer that will spring to the inward position and can be pulled out.

      Neil certainly dropped a clanger with the buffer spring position. Must admit was a bit baffled straight out of the box. 🤣

    All the best lads thanks to you I ended up with the 0 gauge bug 😂, the black 5 is my favourite loco especially after the disappointment of the 00 hornby one that had to be sent back twice, I also found a local 0 gauge club that I joined, Id been saying for years I need to join a model railway club and your black 5 gave me the excuse to do that. keep up the good work. Tom

    You do right to stay small. Also, to keep your heads in the clouds but your feet on the ground. Thank you for the outstanding black 5. It was well worth selling much of my OO stuff for. Now some Stanier coaches to accompany it would be nice... As for a loco, a Jubilee wouldn't be too dissimilar, and several liveries possible, but a 4F would be more useful. Hope to visit the showroom in the coming year. All the best for 2025.

    As a big 4 modeller, the L.N.E.R & the L.M.S are, for me, the most interesting. Do you have different running numbers within each model, or are they fixed? I suppose in 00 gauge you can't really see them, but if you run a few, it's nice to know that they are different, and no, I'm not a rivet counter!

    Love the S&T version, but a slight correction. S&T livery was used all over the BR network not just the Western region. It may have started there but was quickly adopted by the S&T HQ as their livery. Very tempted to purchase one.

    FINALLY! A wagon with WORKING RINGS. That is brilliant and always overlooked!! Also... a big plus on this one over the Rapido version is that you can change the couplings without having to actually break the model (rapido!).

  • @StormmyStormmy
    @StormmyStormmy 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

    You should bring some to the Great Electric Train Show next month, preferably a departmental yellow livery model, Rapido’s model is very good indeed, maybe if you produced some Rail Head Treatment Train wagons or some FEA wagons would sell very well.

    I thought the Quad-Arts were a bit pricey, but would have to agree that compared to building a kit, which probably wouldn't look as good when finished. Anyway, I placed an order and look forward to seeing the results. So far it looks like they will be worth the wait and price.

    WOW, love the 'keep-firing-or-it-will-stop' feature. I've been wanting that kind of thing for a long time. When I first gave a steam loco sound I automatically tried to simulate the steaming up process by first setting the sound volume to zero and then gradually over time increasing the volume of the hiss. I would normally do this over about an hour, every so often playing the coal shovelling sound and at the end play the valve escape sound (they never judged it right :). Only then would I make it move. The steaming up process would be a nice thing to do next, after all, the fact that you could not just jump in a steamer and off you go was one of its disadvantages that caused its demise. It felt a much more real experience when I represented that. Anyway, well done for including that 'keep firing' feature. I hope that if you do fail to keep the pressure up and it stops it is a realistic slow down stop and not a sudden toy-like stop 😃

    I keep going back and forth on whether to buy one of these. They look amazing. Chris mentioned on the video that some are fitted with air brakes. Do you know which ones, please because the only reference I can find online is for 45212’s mainline working. Are any of the other models you have chosen (e.g. 45379) air brake fitted and would that restrict the coaching stock I could pair them with? (e.g. only Mk1s and not early Mk2s - as I’m thinking of creating a support coach for the loco to run with in preservation)?
