I love old castles and castle ruins. With my videos im trying to share my trips and explorations. A short history lession is sometimes also involved.
Exploring Alttrauchburg castle ruin - Covering its history and architecture!
Nestled deep in the forests of Weitnau, the ruins of Alt-Trauchburg Castle hold centuries of history. Built around 1150, the castle became the seat of the Trauchburg family, with Berthold of Trauchburg serving Emperor Frederic II in 1224. Over the centuries, the castle changed hands several times, eventually becoming the central seat of the Waldburg family.
Despite surviving the wars of the 16th and 17th centuries, the castle was demolished in the late 18th century to build a new one nearby.

Exploring a mystical castle ruin from the middle Ages - creepy dungeon found! (full tour)
มุมมอง 5Kปีที่แล้ว
In this video I'm exploring a mystical abandoned castle ruin. It's barely visible from the outside and hidden at the edge of a forest. Going closer you get rewarded by a medieval castle ruin with the perfect mixture of decay, overgrown structures and intact buildings. It was build in the 13th century (middle ages) with the purpose to secure important nearby road connections.
Cool vid. I remember when we were playing Dungeons & Dragons there at midnight. Well, 35y ago Next task is "Ratzenried"? I'd recommend that and can't wait to see ;)
Sounds like a great childhood memory! Has the ruin changed a lot since back then? Thank you for the recommendation about ratzenried. I've never heard of it yet. You would say it's worth visiting and making a video? Thank you for your comment and watching the video!
@TimelessExplorations na Not really, the long bridge to the main Castle hast been abandoned.
@wolfgangbraun1604 I already did researches about the bridge. It's planned to be replaced. It had to be removed because it was not stable anymore and unsafe. Would you say ratzenried is worth a visit?

Thank you for your interest and watching the video. I'm happy you enjoyed it. It was my very first video and i still keep improving. Maybe someday i will go back and make a remake. What is your favourite castle or castle ruin?
Outstanding video. Exactly the same as myself. I love exploring old ruins. The narration adds so much. Add me as a subscriber

who took the roof?
The roofs of the houses? It was houses behind the curtain wall. 😊
@@TimelessExplorations but how walls are protected?
is this real footage or in blender 3D animations?
Hello and thank you for your interest. This definitely real. 🙂
There’s another Falkenstein in eastern Bavaria.
You are right. There is multiple Falkensteins. I found out that there is at least 3 in Germany. But France, Belgium and Luxemburg also seem to have one. I would love to visit all of them.
Have you visited the Falkenstein castle ruin you are relating to? If so, how is it?
acts 23 verse 32 on the morrow they left the horsemen to go with him, he returned to the castle:
It looks like someone did some small rennovations in the 70s or 80s (those wooden structures would not have been so well preserved after sitting in the elements after 700+ years). I kind of hope they go back and spruce up the rest, make it an operable castle again. Sometimes the best way to preserve history is to use it. ❤
You got good eyes, you looked very closely. 🙂 The doors definitely look like they got renovated. Apart from that I only see wood at the tiny tower? As far as I know the castle is owned by descendants of the original owners. (So still in hand of the family) Sadly almost no renovations have been done so far and I believe restoring it might be too expensive to be handled. I like the decay and state of the castle. But I also fear it might collapse in the near future. The holes in the roofs and very high walls without any support makes it very unstable. Thank you for watching and being here ❤️
(grat stuff, except the background music is really distracting and overdone)
Thank you for watching and your constructive feedback, I really appreciate it. I will be more cautious about it in the upcoming videos. Have you watched my newest video about Alttrauchburg as well? Is that better for you? I think it's a bit less loud during the video.
very cool, we need more for aoe2 castles
Happy you like it! I got a few more castle ruins on my channel! If you got friends who also like castles, invite them! 😍
Bavaria had to endure many idiotic rulers in its history.
People with a lot of power and money always do crazy things. At least we got some great monuments from it. 🙂 Thank you for watching!
is this AI generated or real?
Hello and thank you for your interest! All the castle ruins I make videos of, exist and are real of course. I would never post fake castles. I don't even think you could produce such long form AI videos yet. But I'm very happy you asked. I guess you weren't alone with that question. Have a good day ❤️

Nice video
The memory of those profound and orderly times
Well said my friend!
I actually know one of the recent Falkensteins😅😂 (And yes, my username does have meaning. My mother is a countess, therefore I am an actual princess. Not that that would in any way affect me except for having a family heraldic symbol or what it's called😄💖)
Hello my dear princess! I'm glad you found your way back to Falkenstein! You have always been a very welcome visitor, here at Falkenstein. Your beauty but also your wisdom is world famous and a joy for everyone here at the courtyard of the castle! Feel free to come back at any time you want and enjoy one of our best wines at the fireplace! Of course this applies to your whole family, especially the countess! I'm so glad you've visited us and hope you are going to visit us soon again. Thank you and greetings P.S.: To which Falkenstein are you refering to? I found out that there is at least 3-4 in germany and almost any neighbouring country has a Falkenstein as well. :D
@@TimelessExplorations I am honestly not sure which Falkenstein my friend belongs to, all I know is she has the name (and "title") Falkenstein😅 The castle I have visited was the one in Upper Palatinate/Bavaria, but that was unrelated to me knowing her, I was just in the area and I love checking out castles😊 (Sadly, we don't have one of our own. My mother is the Countess of Schönebeck, which isn't exactly glamorous or famous or worth visiting. I do like the fact that, technically, I am a princess, though😊 The thing is, in Germany, the names and "royalty" aren't really bound tothe property or land. We do not own anything in Schönebeck, but at least that also means our name does not tie us down. I can move wherever I wanna move, I have been living in Cologne, Bremen, Bielefeld, Homburg, I even spent half a year in Munich with my grandfather(father's side, he's not part of the von Schönebeck-clan.) Either way, "royalty" as such doesn't exist in Germany, I don't think it has ever existed since the start of WWII, but I am not sure. We have the names, technically we have the titles, also we have the I forgot the English word for it again("Familienwappen"), but all of that is basically honorary. We don't own land, we got absolutely nothing to say, we don't even get a difference in tax payments. (would be nice not having to pay a giant amount as it is) Anyway, thank you for your kind words, you really made me smile💖 I hope you have an awesome day(night?😅) and, as soon as I can, I will definitely be visiting your beautiful castle again! (Maybe next time I get a little dolled up and wear one of my beautiful medieval gowns, not because technically I am a princess but because that would be awesome to take pictures in or film myself walking through the castle🤯❤️❤️❤️ I already know where I want my next vacation to go, I just have absolutely no idea when I'll have a vacation c: )
The music is a little loud
Thank you for your interest and watching the video. I'm sad to hear that the music was too loud. But I really appreciate your feedback. It helps me to improve my future videos. Thank you and greetings 🙂
what is the name of this mysterious castle
Thank you for showing interest in that place! It was the first castle ruin I visited and it's a very important spot to me. The ruin is not publicly available and belongs to private people. Since I want it to stay in good shape and not get demolished, I cannot share its name. I'm sorry I can't help you further. I hope you understand that. Thank you for watching and greetings ☺️
Wow. Thank you for sharing
You're welcome. Thank you for watching!
Awesome! Thank you 😮
My pleasure!
I love the sound of the water drops. ❤
This is looking quite cold
It definitely was. Especially when you need your hands to take pictures. 😅
I love the sound of falling snow
Me too. Quite rare to only hear falling snow.
Relaxing atmosphere. Thank you for sharing!
Happy you like it!
Awesome! Imagine having a fireplace and some shelter.
I found a little shelter in the castles backery. Sadly nobody cooking there anymore. ☺️
Wow. I love how the drone provides a safe way to explore places you cam not reach because it would be too dangerous 😊
Happy you liked it. It actually was my first real use of the drone. It was quite scary flying it in such a tight place.
@@TimelessExplorations I bet it was!!! I flew under a bridge for the first time today. I am about to start editing the videos now and will hopefully posting them tonight or tomorrow. I would love it if you checked them out!
@@MyMaineDrone I will !
I absolutely love it! I used to dream of living in a castle 😊
Didnt we all do that? :)
Breathtaking views. I hope to fly a drone over places like this someday!
Its not impossible. But every country has its own great sites. USA has more industrial places while europe has the castles. Industrial places are cool as well. :)
This must have been awesome to film! Hopefully my drone piloting skills will be up to doing something like this in the future!
It was. I even went there several times to get decent shots. I wasnt really happy with my shots. I just took a look at your videos as well. You are doing a great job! Keep up the good work! We all are improving by trying new things - nobody has been born as an expert!
These videos are beautiful. Are you filming with a drone? What model? How did you get permission to fly in these places?
Yes im using a drone. I used a DJI Mini 3 pro in that video. For my newer videos i used and will use a Mini 4 pro. You are right - many places seem to require a permission to fly a drone or film. But this place is quite rural and publicly available. Also i didnt see any other restrictions somewhere - so its all good. Sadly many other places require a drone and film permission which i would have to pay for - or risk high fines. :(
Gorgeous
Definitely. Unique place with 2 neighbouring castles and great nature around. Loving it!
Just beautiful!
Thank you so much!
This video is fantastic. It is sooo beautiful!
Happy you enjoyed it! <3
What is it called
Hello! Thank you for your interest in that beautiful place! Sadly i cannot make this place public. Since it was the first ruin i explored i got a personal relationship with it - its one of my most favourite places. Making it public would make it quickly be demolished. I hope you understand that. Thank you and greetings!
@@TimelessExplorations That’s ok, I completely understand! Thank you for still sharing it through your amazing videos!

The reward for the hike up there. 😊
Very good and stable drone flight. Interesting shots. Great film editing. Good job. I fly too. Greetings from Poland. I liked and subscribed.
