Do you need to use an oxygen absorber?
I don't, they are not really necessary when vacuum sealing as you are already removing the oxygen from the bag. We have them to use with mylar bags when not vacuum sealing. Brother, i am trying to get the thumb bar to engage when i push it down but it moves very little. What can i do to fix it? The reel belongs to a boy i teach here in my hometown in South Africa and the family is struggling financially so i want to hrlp him. He loves bass fishing but now his reel is not working. I cleaned it last night and spooled it with some braid on it but the freaking thumb bar is "tight". PLEASE advise me what to do.
If the thumb bar will not go down at all, the first thing I would do is to look close and make sure there is nothing under the thumb bar lever preventing it to be pressed down or nothing is broken. More than likely you will need to remove the handle and the side cover, Take you time and lay the pieces out in order so you can put them back in the right order, take pictures or video if needed. There are some pieces the thumb bar connects to that engage it when pressed and disengage it when the handle is turned. Sounds like one of them is not aligned properly or has slipped out of place. Some times debris can build up in a reel inside that haven't been clean in a long time and cause problems as well. You are doing a good thing by helping the young man in fishing, glad to hear things like that. I hope this has been of some help to you to get the reel back working. Excellent idea with the caribeaner!! I got those same clamps from harbor freight, and have the paracord, just need to wallow out the hole and put the caribeaner on it, I am thinking of 15-18 feet of cordage, that may be to much, but will check it out, I have a small 10 ft. Sundolphin kayak, and also a 15 canoe I fish from

What is never specifically said anywhere in the video or comments below, is that when you are vacuum sealing a powdery substance like flour or sugar, or any light powdery substance, whether in bags or jars, it can be sucked into your machine and gum it up--or even kill it dead! You need to put a coffee filter on top of the powder in jars, to prevent it from being sucked into your machine. The paper bags work well, too, or even poking holes in the original packaging and vacuum sealing it in the original packaging inside a vac bag. But don't put flour, etc., into a vac bag and just seal it; it needs to be prevented from going into your vacuum sealing machine, which will happen when you have a lightweight powder. One good workaround for brown sugar is to only store WHITE sugar. Just add some molasses if you want brown sugar. That's all it is, anyway. There are many "formulas" online stating what the ratios are. And research the product APEEL--a shelf-life extending product put on literally all fruits and vegs by the packager, whether organic or non organic, Globally! IT CANNOT BE WASHED OFF. While it starts out as a benign vegetable product, it picks up heavy metals in the manufacturing process. Heavy metals are toxic and accumulate in the body. No labeling is required. FDA says it is okay, but used the manufacturer's info--a company owned by Bill Gates. Look online, research, and decide how to handle this for your family's safety: peel everything, protest, whatever. But RESEARCH it!

Yes, There is always fish in this area around Cocoa Beach. There a lot of areas along 520 and A1A you can pull off and fish, this was beside the 520 causeway. A lot of people fish from shore at the bridges, some you can drive under. Port Canaveral and don't forget the beach. People wade docks near Melbourne, just shuffle your feet if you wade there are sting rays never been bothered but stepping on one would ruin a fishing trip. Google Earth is your friend, you can see areas before you get there find places to park ,fish etc. Good Luck hope this helps. Thanks for watching and the comment.

10 pounds of sugar would last me about 10 years / I like the bag idea but I think if I’d buy a bag I’d just take out a couple ounces and then just vacuum seal up the actual sugar bag if it’s in good condition

Yes vacuum sealing long term it will be hard as a rock. Most of what I vacuum seal is for short term. For brown sugar, leave it in the plastic bag it came in, poke a small hole in the plastic bag with a knife. Then place it in a vacuum seal bag and vacuum seal it. Do to the molasses in brown sugar it will dry out and become hard as a brick. To solve the problem, take the brown sugar out of the vacuum sealed bag and the plastic bag it came in a day or so before you will need it. place the brown sugar in a zip lock bag with a piece bread, close the bag and place it in the cabinet for about 24 hours. The brown sugar with draw moisture from the bread and become soft again. Hope this helps. Thanks for watching and the comment

Watching guys play video games= boring. They’re going to keep losing more and more viewers like me. Unless, they consider having some tournaments without advanced sonar and some with. I would watch the ones without.
I agree it is not as fun to watch, they should at lest split it up so it's not all Forward Facing Sonar tournaments. I enjoyed seeing some of the guys chunking and winding a spinner bait, etc in all those cypress trees. That's my style. Thanks for watching and the comment.

Gotcha. I’ll be down visiting my mom in April and hoping to get on some fish in this body of water.
There is all ways fish in this area. Try around the 520 and A1A causeways. 1000 islands, The Indian river is good as well, Port Canaveral and the beach as well. I just like fishing inshore with light set up, I use a 7 ft medium rod with 2500 spinning reel 10 lb braid with 20 lb mono leader most of the time. Hope this helps good luck.

I have heard that if you freeze your meat 1st then Vacuum Seal them. Nothing will get into your machine.
I have found that to work well on items with a lot of moisture in them. I have put things in the freezer just long enough to get firm then vacuum seal them. Doing the same thing works well on meats, it makes them slide in the bag easy. I do it a lot with things like brat worth sausages when packing them individually. What about boxed Spaghetti noodles? Can you vacuum seal them?
Sure, just put the boxes in the vacuum seal bag and vacuum seal them down. You should be able to get three 1 lb boxes in a gallon vacuum seal bag. Check them occasional sometimes boxes ( as well as other items ) can cause a small puncture hard to see and lose the vacuum seal. Thanks for watching and commenting, hope this was helpful.
