Life with Lisa
เข้าร่วมเมื่อ 8 พ.ย. 2024
Hi, I’m Lisa ✨
Welcome to My World 🌿
Nestled in Scotland’s breathtaking Kelvin Valley, where ancient hills meet the gateway to the Highlands, I share my life with my partner, our two spirited girls, a curious cat, three playful dogs, and two gentle rabbits. Surrounded by nature’s raw beauty, I find grounding and inspiration in its ever-changing rhythm.
For 24 years, I taught yoga-a practice that shaped my journey of self-discovery, transformation, and healing. Now, at 44, I’m releasing the need to please, embracing softness, and creating a life rooted in authenticity, vibrancy, and creative expression. When I can I offer Thai yoga massage sessions from my cosy garden cabin 💖
TH-cam has become my canvas-a space where I share my evolving path, mindset shifts, and all things transformational. This is where real life meets possibility-a place where growth is celebrated, imperfections are honored, and inner light is allowed to shine.
Thank you for being here ❤️
Love Lisa ❤️✨

From Consuming to Creating: Finding Peace and Purpose in Small Shifts
Hi, I’m Lisa. In this video, I reflect on the small shifts that have brought me closer to peace in my life-a life I’ve been living in a small Scottish cottage for years. As a mum, a former yoga teacher, and a lover of all things wild, I’ve spent much of my life seeking balance and connection. Now, as I navigate perimenopause and all the changes it brings, I’m learning that true peace isn’t found in consuming or constantly moving-it’s in slowing down, nurturing what’s already here, and honouring my own journey.
This cottage, this land-it’s been waiting for me to stop running, to reconnect with the stillness, and to begin mending what is broken within and around me. Small shifts, like rearranging my living room or tending to the garden, have allowed me to embrace the quiet beauty of the moment and create a sense of home.
I invite you to join me on this quiet journey of inner restoration. It’s not about making big changes all at once, but about finding peace in the small, intentional actions we take each day. Whether it’s in your home, your heart, or your own self-care, these small shifts can lead to a life of greater peace, comfort, and self-love

Why I Was Told Birthdays Are Evil Growing Up as a Jehovah's Witness
I understand this gentle awakening so well, Lisa - mine has occurred in its own time, after every grieving process following the loss of my nearest and dearest (two legged and four legged). This was a lovely video, beautifully narrated and filmed. Yes, it’s true - we are wherever we are - wherever we go, we take ourselves along with us. We cannot escape that, ever. ❤❤❤ Your home is beautiful 😍
Thanks for your lovely comment Desiree✨ sorry to hear about your loved ones ...hugs
A tough reflection to have in a way. Can relate.
Hey 😊 thanks for your comment x
I love this, thank you. I'm with you on the roll and crisps. Add some Branston pickle to take it to the next level! 😊
Love that! 😻
I live in the Surrey Hills, very beautiful but peace is hard to find, under the flight path for Gatwick, cars, motorbikes, off roaders, cyclists, runners, other walkers. I tend to walk the dog very early or very late to minimise contact with people, I seek out the less visited spots or I go to the busy spots on rainy days when no one is around. The joy of doing a walk and not passing a single other person is a rare and beautiful thing, but so is an unexpected meeting, stopping a while to talk, especially with older people. Before Christmas one sparklingly cold sunny morning I met a man in his 80s walking slowly though the vineyard I walk in often, we put the world to rights for about 20 minutes. He'd had a major heart operation and each day he walks through the vineyard trying to go just a few steps further every day before turning around and heading for home. I'm always aware when I take time to talk to people that they may not have spoken to another soul for days, you get a feel for whether people want to stop awhile or not. Often I meet widows/widowers who are quite elderly whether that's out walking or on a trip to the market or shops and you just know that they need that small talk, a smile and some connection.
So true.. I often find it very uplifting when a conversation begins ..and yes it's important to be aware that others may not have spoken to anyone for days..I think ultimately connecting is important for our wellbeing as is a walk in solitude 🌈✨ thanks so much for this reflection into words

Heeey! You're back!! Beautiful message, beautiful video, love this new editing style. ❤️❤️❤️ And fantastic shots and music ❤️❤️❤️❤️
Hey sally! Feel like there is so many ways to approach getting your message out into the world,I'm still experimenting ✨🌈
Your videos are so grounding, they bring me back to myself, thank you. I've spent years online looking at houses and places I'd like to move to, including my long held dream of Italy, I've wasted not just hours but months of time dreaming about how much better my life could be if we could move instead of looking at what I do have and appreciating it, having gratitude but most of all love for our home. Finally, slowly, little by little I am coming home, it's been a long road to get here but one saying I hold onto now is this, wherever you go, there you are. I was continually wanting to run from the imperfect, the stress, the problems and myself, and it's not possible. Even if we were in a position to upsticks and go, which we are not due to our business, I can't move away from me or my problems, they will exist whether I live her in the south, move to the cotswolds, Wales, Yorkshire, Scotland, Ireland or even Italy or France. That realisation has helped me to begin to find peace and acceptance and gratitude for all that I have in this present moment. This moment is all any of us have, the past is gone, the future may or may not happen for us, we must strive to live with awareness, gratitude, acceptance, peace and joy in each moment that we are given. x
Thank you so much for sharing. ✨🌈 And I'm glad this wee video resonates .. I'm still finding out all this myself so it's lovely to feel the support of each other xx

Oh Lisa, I got emotional with your video today. I loved it so much! You are right that the hardest thing of all is to start, but once you do, most of the times it all keeps rolling. Loved to see your cozy space as well. Great video, Lisa 💖 By the way, bun and chips? What is that??? 🤣🤣🤣
Love this!
I feel the same. I'm quickly overwhelmed when looking around me with everything needing doing and just like you said, getting started with one small thing can get the energy rolling and moves you out of that frozen still overwhelm. I like taking baby steps... actions so small you can't fail at them but they get you rolling in the positive direction.
Thank you to everyone who arrived at the premiere, means so much , godbless you all beautiful community🥰 let me know your thoughts in the comments below. This was the first voice over i have done on this channel, i really liked this way of editing and sharing my message, hugs ,appreciate you all xx

Hi, I completely agree. I have a TH-cam channel myself. I don't think I've ever said the words like share or subscribe in any of my videos LOL. Also my channel is monetized but I did not choose to have memberships and different levels. I make a tiny income from advertisements. For myself I cannot afford other people's memberships and I feel like I've been denied access to the most important things they have to say. I do not ever want any of my subscribers to feel that. I basically started my channel to find like-minded people to share my life experience with. I am happy TH-cam suggested your video. I like your Vibe and I have subscribed to see what else you have to say 🙂
Awe hey , welcome 🤗 so glad you commented .. thank you and I really enjoyed your share . I'm off to check out your channel too ✨💕🙏love Lisa. Xx
I think you're just more private person. That is ok. Introverts still belong but I get the feeling. My "not belonging" comes from living in 3 different countries throughout my life so far. My mentality is from neither here or there now. I'm my own thing... but I still belong with people I care about and who care about me, that's ok with me and the rest doesn't matter. Being authentic can also give a feeling of not belonging. You can stand out with your uniqueness (which we all have but some dim it down to fit in) this can cause the feeling of not belonging because you don't feel like or agree with conforming to social norm. I feel more people should display their uniqueness and that could be the norm. I don't know, it's interesting food for thought though. Craving solitude and crying to release the energy of our emotions is all normal, good and very healthy. Balancing needs has always been hard in family setting and taking time for you will help you to be better for others later on, otherwise frustrations can build up and we can show up as short tempered, frazzled and not the people we want to be for our loved ones.

Great video, thank you! I'm trying to cut down on my consumption of other people's ideas and words so I can hear my own. It's not easy! There are so many ways to distract ourselves these days. But I'm a few days off the Meta apps and already I feel more myself than I've been for a long time.
@@LindaHolmanNZ yippee!! Welcome and so glad you are here and have shared your thoughts! Thank you 😊
Your thoughts on "consuming" are something I've been pondering lately esp in relation to my creative energy. I love TH-cam for all the varied and in depth content. It's helped me grow as a person and a self taught artist. I've realized tho, in the past year or so, my tendency to look outward for direction, instruction. I have abandoned my own self, my own knowingness, my internal guidance and creative spark. I have lost touch with my own creative source, lost trust in my own process because I was so busy trying to figure out what other creatives were doing. I just stumbled upon your video today and am grateful to know that others are also on the path to reclaiming themselves. So comforting to know I have company on this journey. Thank you!

I can't believe we made a video on the same topic at the same time 😂, it makes me think there was something in the air for sure! I've always had more or less the same feeling as you describe: not being comfortable with a big group of people, feeling not understood... until I started to find people who did understand me. Then I started to wander that perhaps, it was the place that was "wrong". Maybe we'll find out our own answer one day. Great video Lisa, sending you lots of love! 💕

I can really relate to this, I definitely need time alone in nature to recharge and feel myself again! It is really difficult at times when there are so many different demands on us , and I get very influenced by the energies around me, nature can be such a soothing balm! I am fortunate to live mostly in a wild part of the west highlands , but today I am in Inverness. I still managed to go for a long walk by the river and saw a heron sitting on top of a lamp post . ❤

Giving/sharing without expectation of receiving - no hidden agenda to cash-in somewhere down the line. Is this what you are saying? ❤ If yes, you are on the right path. Letting your heart lead you. That’s the magic formula.
Yes exactly Desiree ✨🙏
Once again, you’ve hit the nail on the head! I couldn’t agree more. At 40, thanks to hormonal shifts, our brains really do change, it’s not just a saying, it’s backed by science. As one expert put it, we reach a fork in the road: either we go outward, into distraction or denial, or inward, into the heart and mind, where true transformation begins. And then you realise, all those courses and answers were already within you, just waiting for the right key. Life is the school, experiences the lessons, and people the teachers. Thank you for your grounded, cozy approach, your platform feels like a safe space in an often chaotic world. I loved the shoeless grounding, clever girl. I do the same here on Paros, and it’s so freeing and healing.. Maybe I’ll get to interview you someday. Until then, enjoy the day with your girls and every lovely moment it brings.

Somehow, your channel came to me. because it always does, just when I need it most. Thank you for being so down-to-earth, raw, adorable, and so truthful about this phase we’re all going through. You’re spot on about how all our inner stuff is coming to the surface right now. And let’s not forget the big ones, sleep issues and the anxiety that comes with them. It’s like, can we catch a break? But yes, the days are flying by, and in the middle of it all, self-care and self-love are so important. It’s a reminder that it’s okay if we don’t always have the energy, the best moods, or feel like being the fun-loving person we usually are. I’m also starting my own TH-cam channel, and let me tell you, I’m absolutely petrified about being judged. But I know in my heart I’m not doing this just for me, I’m doing this for everyone out there who feels lonely or is going through hard times. Some might be battling illness, some might be grieving a loss. Whether it’s sleep-deprived nights or just feeling stuck, I want to create something that connects us all. I’m planning to interview creators of all kinds because I feel like this is something I need to do, especially as I go through perimenopause. It’s a ride, isn’t it? But even though it’s wild and unpredictable, it’s also beautiful and exhilarating in its own way. I overcame chronic illness four years ago and healed myself, so I know that strength is already within me, and now, I’m learning to embrace this new chapter. It’s a rollercoaster, but I’m determined to lean into it. We really do need to embrace and support one another during times like these. Thank you for sharing this precious gem of wisdom. And yes, the music truly is divine, it’s like it knows exactly what we need. Here’s to peeling back the layers, finding strength in the mess, and holding each other up along the way. ❤
