All the carcasses can be used for cooking and tanning. IE Wolf carcass can be turned to wolf meat or can be turned to wolf hide.

Times on respawns were changed as of 11/14, as stated in the updates on the pinned comment. It is still a viable location for Pallas cats, and the other information is viable.

your pinned comment says that it may no longer be viable. Which, I think you're right, it's not. Same as the wolf spot east of Lion hold under the ruins. They spawn once on server restart, but not again. I was able to get the Pallas cats on server restart, and an hour later, they're not there. But grinding killing wolves will eventually spawn a huntable one. Which is I believe the intended method. This spot was probably a bug to begin with.

@@DT-hb3zu All huntable mobs were set to spawn at 3 minutes originally, they changed it to 30 minutes but they don't always spawn unless you kill other mobs first. There are some very good routes which I will be doing a video for after this weekends test.

@JaceGrimblade oh no, I get that normally. But not the glitched Pallas cats on the hill. I can't wait for a hunting guide though! I wonder what the spawn rate for huntable wolves is. I killed wolves in the grem hunting spot SW of lionhold at night, all night, and not a single huntable wolf spawned. 😂

@@DT-hb3zu From the last updated patch notes they stated 30 minutes was the respawn but I have a feeling that you have to hunt other spawns also to get the others to respawn. I have noticed several spots were they don't respawn in 30 minutes but when I would hunt others animals in the area they would respawn. This is one thing I am going to continue testing pretty heavily to see what changes there are in Phase 2.

I'm not sure where you're getting the levels mentioned are wrong. Also at level 5 your skill choice is very limited. So I don't get the mildly suboptimal comment either(we arent min/maxing to get to level 5). The build seems to work very well considering I solo 1 and 2 star mobs that are 2 and 3 levels higher at 12-16 with no issues and little to no downtime. Take a look at the solo farm video as it is the same build with more skills added and you can see that I solo pretty easily with the build.

​@@JaceGrimblade It works as expected for Melee weapons. If you plan on primarily using a Ranged weapon then you want to avoid it on every weapon, even on the Bow.

I am debating on waiting until phase 2 to do a full guide since there will be lots of changes and I want to be able to cover anything new also.

This game is already a solid mmo in terms of mechanics. Questing xp will be released next year

@@BW199 I have actually been testing the quests available and once they get those working correctly they will much more lucrative than mob grinding. Once the system is working as intenteded there will be more than enough to do to level that you wont have to grind mob. I have done a few quests that gave 40k or more xp each, of the ones that were working that is.

I plan on doing a full 1-10 guide when phase 2 releases. With the coming changes, I would most likely have to update the guide anyway.

Yes as long as you finish The Sweat of My Brow quest to get your tools and horse that is all you need to do.

Yea as I stated content and locations may change, they are making a lot of changes which is a good thing but will make some of these spots no longer viable for xp farming.

It's still viable to grab on your way around the map as cats are in crazy spots lol

Yes I do, as the game moves further into the phases and new content becomes available I will be doing updates to existing guides and do guides for other huntable animals and resources.

Yea its really unfortunate but at the same time I am glad the bug was found now and they already implemented a fix for it. Just have to look out for more now.

You have to do that either at a node or the corresponding crafting station in the world. To upgrade to Apprentice tools you have to do at a node that provides that service for the recipe to be available.

That has not confirmed, when I get confirmation during PTR testing I will update as needed. There have been several spawn issues which I reported this weekend. At least 6 different locations mobs are spawning inside of rocks and ground or not spawning at all. Thanks for the heads up but I also updated that in the pinned comment.

@@JaceGrimblade An update to this reply. I successfully farmed them three times today and each spawn set took well over an hour. I also was able to harvest two more on the other peak... trade secret how I got up there, and they took just as long to respawn.

@@scitigeronswitch4861 The difference from the update was supposed to be variable respawn times so they shouldn't be set on a timer at all which is what I tested this weekend. On Vyra they were taking a hour or more even if spawning at all. On the fresh start server they weren't spawning at all and on lyneth and resna they were spawning at half hour intervals when I checked. Thanks for that info, I will add that to my data, what server are you on? I don't expect that spawn times will go back to 3 minutes but 1 hour or more is a little unrealistic when other artisan skills have numerous things to harvest to level and that would be very limiting for hunting.

You have to do "The Sweat of Your Brow" quest in Lionshold or Samias Hope and you will get the basic tool to get started. You can see the steps to completing that quest at the beginning of my solo tank guide :)

You can do all the professions but won't be able to master them all.

Not even close , it takes at least 15 minutes to do the first quest run to Lionshold and do the starter quest to get your horse and tools.
