I enjoyed the crap out of the anime and the movie both, but don't get me wrong. I never understood why the Earth didn't use the opportunity the lull in combat with the Gamilas that the Yamato provided to retrofit more old ships such as the Missouri, Iowa, and North Carolina to give the Earth some defense. I get they were short on resources but the lull in attacks freed up a good chunk of the remainder.

It's a shame the movie doesn't hold up to the anime in my opinion. Imagine if they had done a full fledged series whith this, I would have watched it ten times over by now. Still, the movie had some very badass scenes and I wish there where more space operas like this instead of basically just star wars.

Do you know i think they want to make the ships looks more realistic but i think they kinda screwed up, the ship for the EDF/UNCF/UNCN looks like the Garmillas ship in Anime, and the Garmillas ship in this movie become some kind of Convenet ship, big brain
