Audibles with Jason Scarborough: Episode 11 Season 6: Hu Meena
We rolled on with another episode of “Audibles with Jason Scarborough” this past weekend, all across the state of Mississippi on all 10 of our TV affiliates.
Episode 11 features C Spire chairman and CEO Hu Meena. C Spire is based in Mississippi and just last year celebrated their 35th anniversary. C Spire has grown to become one of the nation’s largest providers of broadband connectivity, managed and cloud services. Meena is responsible for the strategic direction of the brand and setting the vision for the company.
Prior to joining the company, Meena served as the general manager of Southland Systems of Mississippi, Inc., a long-distance telecommunications service provider. In 1987, he became the general manager for C Spire’s (then known as Cellular South) first market on the Mississippi Gulf Coast and was responsible for the company’s start up in February of 1988.
In 1990, Meena was promoted to vice president of operations and development. In 1997, he was named president of Cellular South, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Telapex, Inc. Under his leadership, the company has grown to become the largest privately held wireless carrier and the sixth largest carrier in the nation. Meena also led the start-up of Telepak Networks, Inc., a fiber optic based broadband networking company that today operates as C Spire Fiber and has served as a catalyst for the company’s geographic expansion over the last decade.
Hear from one of the greatest minds in business and one of the pioneers of the telecommunications industry, Mississippi's very own Hu Meena.

    In 1969, I was 11 and was an avid Cubs fan. In my mind's eye, I still see #11 ranging to his right, grabbing a grounder with eyes for right field. He would then jump in the air, twisting back to his left, making a fantastic throw to first (while still in the air), and the runner is out by a half step. It was so much fun watching him play shortstop. Nice interview. I would have liked it if you had inquired about some of his experiences with Leo Durocher. This interview could have easily gone on for another hour.

    • @tampazeke4587
      @tampazeke4587 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      You had five healthy players CHOOSE not to play for their team, their coach, their school or their fans. Whose fault is that? Ole Miss? What do you want? A handicap start? A participation trophy? A pacifier? As for the officiating, Ole Miss got screwed by the officials at least as much as Penn State. Two horrendous bad calls in a row resulting in taking a touchdown off the board. Ole Miss had some of their best players unable to play due to injuries but you never heard anything about them and you wouldn't have even if Ole Miss had lost. Hell, Dart was hurt on the first play of the game and played the rest of the game injured but you didn't hear a peep out of him or out of Rebel fans. All the excuse making and whining is making Penn State look really bad on the national stage. Build a culture where your players feel loyalty and play to the very end for their team and when they don't OWN IT and stop crying about it.

    • @aaronrider4051
      @aaronrider4051 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@tampazeke4587 I like how Penn State having more draftable players than Ole Miss is somehow a credit to Ole Miss. And that isn't me bitching. It's just the TRUTH that Penn State was hamstrung by players sitting out. Secondly, sorry, but I said the officiating was terrible. Essentially you're just agreeing with that. I wouldn't care at all but for the fact that insecure Rebel fans keep showing up in Penn State comment sections.@tampazeke4587

    • @tampazeke4587
      @tampazeke4587 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @aaronrider4051 check your facts. Ole Miss had a NUMBER of draftable players who CHOSE to come back and CHOSE to play in the Peach Bowl. AGAIN. WHAT IS IT THAT YOU WANT with all your pitching and whining? Do you want the game forfeited because your players CHOSE not to play? Did you think that the Ninny Lions should have been given handicap points? Do yall just want to bitch and whine and make your school look bad. None of you seems to have an answer to what Ole Miss or the NCAA or the Peach Bowl should have done to make you Ninnies happy. I've got news for you. If you think Ole Miss made you unhappy this year, you're gonna be absolutely MISERABLE next year! But hey, you'll always have your excuses and your dreams to keep you warm. That's the last moment of my precious time I'm to waste on any of you. Say whatever makes you feel better. I won't see it. Ta!

    It's been the same issue all year long. You don't need to be a coach to diagnose the problems. Receivers who can't get any separation. We play between the hash marks. The offense relies totally on the running backs and tight ends. Early in the game when the score is close and we can lean on the run game and defense, we are fine. If we get behind and we have to pass to convert third downs, we get into trouble. We cannot drive the ball down the field against the top teams, and it shows. Let's put the blame where it truly belongs. I like James Franklin, but the buck stops at the top. For whatever reason, Penn State has not been able to recruit and develop talent at the wide receiver position in the past few years. Our offense against the top teams then becomes predictable and non-explosive.
