I have a question, I bought a kamancheh because I fell in love with the tone and traditional style of music that kamancha is used in, I have been training using violin exercises for 2 years now, my question is, how do I get a different tone whilst playing? I'd like to achieve a warm, delicate, breathing-like sounding tone just as Mr Kalhor has in most of his yt videos. Please assist me, I love your culture and your music!

Is there a tuning in particular you recommend for ease of playing maqam hijaz (sorry, not sure what the Dastagh equivalent is)? Nahawand? Thanks, very informative.

This was a very informative video! I have an Armenian style kamancha. It's made of walnut wood (with no maple wood) and the soundbox is covered with fish skin instead of sheep skin. Kamancha is such a beautiful instrument!
