Hello! Thank you for checking out "Anthony Crouch Photography"! If you are new to landscape photography or just trying to pick up some good tips here and there on photography in general. Our goal with this channel is to learn all things photography starting with Landscape and Woodland photography.
I am very passionate about learning and love teaching others too, so I wanted to pass what ever information I learned along the way to others who are interested in learning.
I picked Landscape and Woodland photography first, because I love the adventures and exercise of going outdoors to catch beautiful shots of nature. It is a great way to exercise and lose weight. It is a great way to get out of the hectic lifestyles we live today and relax.
Besides showing the beautiful places we visit, I hope to teach you things such as: how to capture landscape pictures in focus, understand depth of field and how it relates to your composition, how to pick a good landscape composition, etc.

@@MihneaPetre thank you. Appreciate it 👍
does archival tape rip your paper after you peel it off and left it on for a very long time like 2+ years?
@@Sora-o it can, in my experience you can peel it off slowly without tear but in some cases, it might take a little paper with it, not ripping but definitely some damage visible only from backside
@@Sora-o I don't think it worsens with years, probably more easier to remove with more years, try your tape out on practice sheet, see how well it does at removal
@@AnthonyCrouchPhotography Thanks!
Nice video. Do you have anything on cutting the mats? Where do you buy the mat material from? Thanks!
I used to cut my own but prefer not to when I can find precut. You can always find archival Matt board on Amazon. See the description of my video to a link of precut kits.
👍🙂
What is a “v mount” battery?
A large battery often attached to a cage put on a camera for performing long form videography. It is often big enough to power your camera, external monitor, external microphone etc for hours all from one battery. A lot of folks rig up the R5, R5II and R5C for videography (cinema rig) vs photography.
Thank you so much! This is perfect to send to my elementary parents and older students who are prepping photos for a competition.
@@AA-MillerArt thank you, my pleasure. Glad to hear, thanks for sharing.
I have never used the T hinge type mount. Thanks for this demo video. I like and use the photo corners. I have several prints hanging in my home using these. The prints never buckle regardless of season. My only recommendation is to use the next size up photo corners. Looks like you have the smallest size. Those might work for an 8x10 print, but anything larger needs the larger size photo corners to give more surface area sticking to the matte.
Great advice, feedback. Appreciate it. Thanks for watching.
Nice review. I have the 100-500 and the 200-800 is huge in comparison! I'm kind of new to "super" zoom telephoto lens photography and haven't figured out what lenses I need to take out with me this year. I have the Canon "holy trinity," plus the thrifty 50 ("nifty" fifty is the EF version) and my most recent lens purchase, the RF 100mm macro. I know I won't be packin all of that for my out and about travels that aren't too far away, but will when we head west this summer/fall to visit a few National Parks. I shoot with one body, the R5 and don't see a need for an extra camera, but it might be nice to have if I ever come across one that won't break the bank. Enjoyable watch. 👍
@@TC_Conner hey thanks for watching and the feedback. If you are like me, it is hard to decide what to carry. I usually carry a version of the Trinity, 15-35, 24-105, and 100-500 but now that I have the 200-800 and I also have the macro 100 it makes it tougher.
I need to make better plans for my outings and vlogs this year. And thanks for the sub! Hit that button for you too. 😎
Glad to see a new video from this channel. Your videos are always an enjoyable watch.
@@supieorwolf4874 thanks bud. I appreciate you
I live here in Colorado, so where were you photographing here? I couldn't place it but maybe near Chimney Rock? I live in Greeley & 4x4 all over the state (when roads are open for that). And, since you live out of state, how do you select what areas you want to shoot? Keep up the work. I've got my favorite spots here too. :)
@@naturelvr123 This trip was based out of Ridgway. Mount Sneffles scene is off county road 7. Chimney Rock scene and Owl Creek was from Peg's meadow through Owl Creek pass. Out of state requires a lot of googling, Instagram, YouTubing, and Facebook investigating to find good areas, partly why I do these videos to kind of give back to those who do the investigating. It can take a couple of trips before I get comfortable with an area. This was my third year in this area so gotten to know a few places well.

What about for church work, if you have to record left and right and everywhere else. The crowd, the bride and the groom? Do you just set it once and you are clear to record everywhere inside the church?
Since you didn't get a reply - You can set it once, but only if the lightning is the same.. If light changes, the white balance usually changes aswell 😄 Note - If the walls are colored, that might give another white balance on your subject. Good luck filming! 😉
Thanks for being part of the TH-cam community and helping out with the questions. I completely overlooked it.

I hate people sometimes man. That's just so sad man.
so i am having alot of issues with this external battery. i tried the SmallRig 99vb battery and it doesnt recognize the battery then i ordered this FXLion and yet it still doesnt recognize the battery. do you know if there is some setting i have to make in order for it to recognize the power source do you know?
@@bhagyarsx how are you plugging it up usb-c or dummy battery. If usb-c, you still have to have the real battery in camera and the usb-c cable has to be one that supports power delivery. If you are using dummy battery into vmount battery then make sure you are using the right dummy battery and adapter wire to vmount hookup. Nothing special to do in settings. Fxlion and USBC should work fine, make sure u have battery in camera and plug the usb-c cable in. Turn camera on , if it's not working then u should try another cable perhaps
@AnthonyCrouchPhotography it's usbc. I even got a 100w usbc cable and still nothing. So I ordered the dtap dummy battery yesterday and it's coming today so hopefully that works. Crazy it's a brand new camera and having these issues. I've looked up some forums on reddit and a few ppl had this same issue. Seems like just some cameras happen but not all.
appreciate the help!
Hi Anthony from Down Under. Discovered you from the 617 Club with your posts there. Enjoying your natural candid approach with videography and your stills as well. Aspens are beautiful and would turn into weeds here.
@@davidskinner274 David, hi thanks for checking out the videos and appreciate your kind words. Yeah those Aspens are beautiful. I am based in Texas, they wouldn't do too great where I am at also I imagine. We love visiting Colorado each year, headed back with family in couple weeks for another fall trip. Can't wait.
For a portrait oriented print, do you put the t hinges on the top or the side? Thx
I recommend top
@@AnthonyCrouchPhotography thanks
Stunningly beautiful country. I've driven it a couple times. And I plan to be in Telluride in about a week and drive it again while I'm there. I'll be a little early for fall colors but it will be a great drive anyway if the road is in good shape like in your video. Thanks for posting.
What were the dates you filmed this drive?
First two weeks of October.
Look...I didnt want to fuss. But it is ridiculous that you have power for 8K60 in the title and thats not even in the video. It absolutely could use more power than the 4k settings bc it will also be running the continuous autofocus on the camera. We all clicked on this for.....Power for 8k60 using USB.....and nothing.
Both options will fully power 8k60, sorry that was clear to hundred plus people who thumbs upped and not you.
I love the relationship you have with your son sharing a love for photography! Really appreciate how informative the video and how you explain your process. Im headed there in the first week of October and was wondering if you could help me with locations the last 2 viewpoints you photographed of Mount Sneffels they were gorgeous!
@@mystic.eyes. thanks, take county road 7 out of Ridgway Colorado, can't miss it.
@@AnthonyCrouchPhotography Thank you I'll let you know how it goes!
@@AnthonyCrouchPhotography Thank you very much for the help. I'll update you with how the photo trip went!
Same. I need an easy button. I’m a simple man.
Thumbs down for the obnoxious music ! People create this beautiful driving videos and stick in some music they assume everyone will enjoy. How about a narative and road load. Road noise a beautiful sound
😂 people leave these obnoxious comments thinking they are the only people in the world and that their taste trumps everyone elses. And then they want to share their toxic negativity with the world. Be a positive force in this world, we have enough negativity out there. I did several videos, some with music and some without as A/B tests. It turns most people prefer some kind of music but if no music is what you wanted, then all you had to do was explore my channel just a little and give it a chance, like this video. But you would rather stop and spread your negativity. I hope you have a better less bitter week and try to be more positive. th-cam.com/video/NsLY-tD_zAY/w-d-xo.htmlsi=6SVsMKUWkWSA16o3
Thank you for this video. I have the RF 100-500mm lens, and I wanted a bit more zoom. (Check out my Starship and eclipse videos.) So, I got the RF2x extender but thought I had made a mistake when I couldn't attach it to this lens. I didn't realize I had to adjust it to at least 300mm first. Thanks for explaining that.
me too.
Just learning how to mat my prints. Very helpful and clear instructions. Thank you!
Glad to hear, thanks
Why did your matte cover your edition number and signature ?
It was year and signature. It was just a test print that I was playing around with at the end. Didn't even realize I had put a signature on it, just grabbed it from a pile of test prints. I often don't sign the front on these A4 prints but the back. If I were going to sign the front my border would be wider on the bottom of print and yes you would see it inside the matte window. I often only sign the back of these matted prints that I package up for local event sales as the customers are shop and go and you don't know their preference.
Thanks for this easy to understand video. Was that a squirrel on the side of the tree when you were switching between the top two pictures to see whether the tree or background was in focus? It is there in one picture and it isn’t in the next.
❤
Awesome! Thank you
Love Shady Lake!!
Did you have the anxiety and depression already before the sleep apnea?
Yes, it started long before... But I am sure the lack of proper rest and exercise adds to it.
@@AnthonyCrouchPhotography Sorry to hear that, was hoping that maybe it could have been solved with a better solution for your sleep apnea. Indeed, lack of proper rest is killing: hope you'll be able to find some ways for improvement of quality of life. Ever talked to an ENT doctor about possible improvements for treating the sleep apnea? Sometimes there are physical obstructions in the ENT region and doctors overlook them because they've assumed from the start that obesity is causing the problem. Even if that's not the case, maybe there's better equipment out there by now to help you sleep better.
Hello fellow N. Texan! Found your video very helpful. I am a fluid acrylic artist, and have recently begun to mat some of my canvases. Thanks for sharing your tips! Next vendor event is at the Keller Senior Activity Center on April 20. Come by if you can. Would love to meet you.
Thanks for sharing. Do you remember the date you visited silver jack? We are trying to plan our fall trip for beautiful aspen color. Thanks again.
I have visited the last two years, the first and second week in October. See my videos from this year. Highly recommend Last Dollar Road and County Road 7.
Can you unzip the window from the inside? If you wanted to reach for something in the backseat
No, not really, you would need to add something like this part to it. softopper.com/products/dog-window-diy-cutout-kit-clear-universal/
Some very nice photos. Use Photo Pills? Might help with sun direction, time to get there & if a mountain or object will be blocking the sun earlier or later than the rise/set times. Suggestion, when doing video like showing the camera lcd screen for the polarizer, the vid is way to much camera shaking. Need the kids to help or a second tripod, or something.
All good input, thank you. I do use photo pills off and on but evidently not as much as I could. Definitely will work on the shaking. All good input. I very much appreciate you making the time.
Some wonderful video in there and you definitely walked away with some great images! I may need to start planning a Fall trip out there! Those Aspens simply look amazing!
Hey Jeff, thanks much. I appreciate the encouraging words. If you have never been, I would highly recommend it. We have went the first or second week (second this year) for last two years and have highly enjoyed it. I enjoy the west side of the mountains more. We have spent a few trips near Colorado Springs (east side), it is nice but I find the west side much more beautiful (Telluride, Ridgway) . We stay in Ridgway each time.. easy central access there. Never been to RMNP on east side, it might be better than Colorado Springs and Pikes Peak.
@@AnthonyCrouchPhotography I'd like to return to Fort Collins with my wife to scout it out as a possible future home (probably just dreaming, but...). But not sure how the aspens are over that way. But could make for a great October trip for her and I to combine scouting it out and some photography.
Where'd you get the cards from?
