I have no clue how do find my real strengths. I am kinda "ok at everything". I have a few degrees including a PhD in mechanical engineering, working on artificial hearts. I always enjoyed building things, I have a a good amount of software dev experience, I love cooking and peopole seem to like to eat my stuff, I love sports, martial arts, I speak a few languages fluently (German, Finnish, French, Japanese, English) in the sense that I can chat and explain things rapidly in any of the languages, but I am Shakespeare at none of them. I have done research in biomedical fields, getting a broad view on cell biology, human medicine and drug development. I have a solid grasp on many "other" fields, like differential geometry in mathematics to finance, economy, etc. I love to draw and compose music (but I am bad at it both of it). I have won teaching awards at my university for lectures that I held. If I list it out like this it sounds kinda neat, but I deep down I feel very lost and useless. I feel like I have not achieved anything yet, and I have no plan on how to go further. I never had much ambition in life, I just did things I liked. But now it starts to feel like a mess and the older I get, the more I get the urge that I should channel my focus towards doing something more ambitious. But I really feel monumentally lost inside. I have talked with my friends and wife about this too, but I hope that writing it down as an anonymous pixel will help sort out my thoughts. Sorry for anyone who wasted time reading this.

There is truth in what you are saying. But sooner or later, for the majority, they will encounter things that they have to do which but don't want to. Incremental discipline is what will guide you through the hardship. You cannot escape discipline. Ever. Only the incredibly lucky can.

Once upon a time I was behind on everything, school didn't work for me and I had no idea what I wanted to do when I grew up. Then I discovered game design. I realised then that my entire life, daydreaming, drawing, crafts, video games, had been set up for me to be good at game design. Now I am in university and I am one of the best game designers in my course, and I can't help but enjoy it.
