I have 3 that was growing very well until the Caterpillars found them -- they ate all the leaves off one so far and it died to the ground -- all were over 8 feet tall -- is their anything that will keep them away from the plants??? Maybe Mem Oil?? Those look Great -- have the Caterpillars found them yet??

I guess if it all grows from the original plant that you got, that it doesn't cross pollinate properly as incarnata is not usually self fertile. Perhaps it occasionally self sets a fruit or perhaps a bee that has visited another passion flower finds its way there

It's looking very healthy, James! Blue Java is a tall variety of banana, but maybe keeping it in a pot might constrain it a little bit 🤞. Although that being said I could probably do with a repot, although it might be quite hard with how tall it is now.

I think the aftertaste you were looking for is resinous, seems to be a common complaint about surinam cherries, especially unnamed seedlings. I think you could leave them a fair bit longer and they'd probably get even darker and sweeter 😁

That’s doing really well, James! Blue Java does get very tall; you might struggle to fit it in your polytunnel soon. I hope you can still fit it indoors for overwintering 🤞

Mine grow about 12ft to 15ft tall. I hope it fits in there. I've never seen one grow inside like that

That's as big as mine was when I got my first flowers and crop. I don't know if pollinators are necessary. Mine is out in the open but bees and wasps only seem to dine at the extrafloral nectaries, not the flowers.
