Default gateway IP is for the router not the modem. You’re looking at a router configuration page. Now that router may also be a modem but in my case my modem and router are separate devices and this does not get me to the modem, only the router.
I had an 10 years old hp desktop pc which had restore partitions, however after creating a new partition for data, shrkining the windows partition, the f11 key for system restore on system boot failed. However your tutorial helped me to extract the wim file from the restore parition. thanks
You understand broadcast, it surprises me that you don't know the difference between a router and a modem.

Cool tutorial. This brings me thoughts.. So I can create my basic emergancy setup of windows, install fresh windows, install my most common applications that Im usually in imidiet need, install all possible drivers, wrap it all into .wim file, and have it somewhere on 32gb pendrive with winPE enviroment, ready to go.. Nice, thats gonna make my life easier by mitigating emergancies if I blow up OS. THANX!

Thanks for the video. The default gateway gets me to the router, not the modem. :-( I can remotely reboot the router, and what I would like to do is also reboot the modem. I've seen Mediacom and Comcast techs do this remotely - how can I?
They have a signal sent by the company, that resets the box and reboots it in the process. That's the only option other than physically pulling the plug on the modem and plugging it back in. Though if you're on Medicacom, they're app lets you send that same reset signal yourself using the Internet Troubleshooter. Not sure if Comcast has the same thing, but I would presume they do. Tons of resources online keep claiming they give instructions for rebooting a modem when it's really instructions for rebooting a router. Now I imagine it would work on modem/router combos, but straight cable modems have no remote reboot option for users, beyond the app-solution I mentioned above.
Good tutorial. I think the reason there are not any videos about "applying" an image with imagex is probably because PXE is used overall on all corporate networks out there, but nice to know how to do it manually on the one machine.
hi mate .. I'm trying an image.wim for my particular laptop which is existing on the flash drive I booted from but I'm facing problem with last command to copy system file everything else went smooth just not sure which other command I should type to copy sys files to drive to boot from . ur command gave an error failure when attempting to copy boot files can u help me passing thro this ?
