Well the cannon was more of a saluting gun, the only example of a Nelsonian period frigate, it was rather interesting from a historical view. Comparing it with the Victory which has two advantages, Nelson and Portsmouth. I thought they had tried hard to make it as visitor friendly as possible, and certainly had made it interactive for young visitors.

You missed out the flighting ships thats the best bit, have a look next time you go its a hourly show thats guided by a video guide and ends with what it would be like on a battle on board with special fx. To be fair we used to have a yearly pass as we are local and my daughter used to like the seasonal activities and play park, but they arent doing a great deal anymore. It does need some money putting into it as some of the galleries and outside areas are looking really tired. Plus, I wasn't impressed with the plaques people could buy to commeorate events such as visiting ships from the past two tall ship events, the plaques were just left ripped off the wall on the ground. Dont think we will be renewing our pass
