hello, i have a question. if i wanted to do validity test for SES, do i just test it between the items since it doesnt have subscales?
Yes. However, you really don't need to carry out a validity test as the scale is a standardized scale and its validity has been well established.

I have a question what scale of measurement should I put each variable as? I see that you put them as scale, but I've heard that they can also be ordinal.
You can keep it as ordinal as well but it won't impact the analysis.

Welcome. It depends on the scoring of each scale. Please check the scoring of that particular scale.

Hi sir. May i ask? I am doing this but only for STRESS scale. Do i need to multiply by 2 also? Cause when i try to do so, the result is quite diff from the actual result. Like it doesn’t really match? Hope you can help sir🥰this is for my thesis
Hi. If you are using the DASS-21 scale then yes, you do need to multiply the total score of each dimension by 2 to secure the final score. However, if you are using a different scale that is only measuring stress, then you need to read the scoring key provided for that particular scale. All the best.

Thanks Eduardo. I'm using Mac OS Ventura 13.4.1. Although pspp is a bit buggy right now, it works. I'm sure the developers will release a stable version soon.

SIR ONE QUESTION HOW TO SELECT THE PREDICTABLE VARIABLE SHOULD BE ONLY FROM DEMOGRAPHIC OR EVEN WITHIN THE SCALE ITEMS CAN BE A PREDICTABLE ONE
The predictors are independent variables that include the socio- demographic variables. The items in the scale together measure a construct that is treated as a dependent variable. Therefore, the items in the scale cannot be treated as predictors.

SIR THE OVER ALL DASS SCALE SCORE PREDICTS THE CATEGORY MILD MODERATED AND SEVER BUT YOU GAVE THE SAME SCORING FOR SUB SCALE ALSO WHY
This is because each of the three sub scales are separate constructs even though they are part of the same scale. This is how it has to be done as per the instructions in the scale.
Sir iam using a PMSS scale which has 3 subscales its over all score say 1_40 no symptoms 40_80 mild 80_120 moderate 120_160 severe 160 to200 very severe Can I find the predictors within this scale
@@Angel-rt3de Yes. Your predictors are your independent variables. This includes the age of the respondent, their gender, income etc.
