Reminds me of a tropical storm like the ones we'd get in Florida.

God it was bad. I had someone do a Marketplace pick-up, and i kept telling them they may wanna wait till the next day. Nope.. came anyway, and left 2 minutes before it hit. I still wonder if she made it home okay. Didnt have power for 3 days, and internet was out a week.

If i experienced a storm half this intense i'd be in ecstasy! I've had two thunderclouds this year with ten lightningbolts between them... shouldn't live in sweden if you love storms :( Great footage!

@@Tyameister Of course, this can vary, from one location to another, due to topography, man-made obstructions, and, where the stronger pockets of the storm strikes. Are you aware of California's Santa Ana winds? These happen in dry, CLEAR air, low to zero humidity, and often hot, happening from Fall to mid-Spring. Here in Northern California, I'd experienced one where gusts were hurricane strength--at least judging by power flashes, chunks of airborne tree and other debris. They are associated with STEEP High Pressure System gradients. They are also responsible for catastrophic wildfire spread. A Santa Ana event can last a whole week, where it may diminish to 25MPH for a few hours, then ramp right back up. They are offshore winds, not the more typical gentle onshore winds from the ocean.

Glad you were not hurt & there wasn't more damage than there was. I love these type of storms, like the abrupt uptick at around 8:02 & almost exactly a minute later another one. I'm from East TX though so severe storms are rarely scary but I'll tell ya that Memorial Day weekend we had an insane storm system pass over the entire DFW area that caught even the meteorologists off guard. I live in The Colony now & we were under the gun from approximately 4:45am until 6:15am with nonstop torrential rain, pea to ping pong ball size hail, and then a brief tornado and that freak storm actually unnerved me which almost never happens. It seemingly just wouldn't end. My friend & neighbor was gone to work by 4am & her 3 kids were home, oldest is 17, & so I was checking on the dog in the bathroom here while monitoring the insanity outside & trying to capture it with my cell, and texting with the 17yr old letting them know it was going to be alright, just stay hunkered down in the safe zone. Texting their Mom with updates as well. At any moment I expected the walls to blow in or the roof to be ripped off. Luckily neither occurred but the sounds this house was making wasn't reassuring whatsoever. When it finally passed I had to then warn my Aunt, Uncle, & nephew that the tornadic storm would be over them in less than 15mins but no answer on anyone's phones. Finally a txt back saying ty & they were in their safe zone. Trees and fences were broken busted and slung everywhere. My back gate is wooden and had brand new iron hinges and hardware, the bolts & hinges were mangled like they were made of playdough 😵‍💫 What a morning that was. ⛈️🌪️

May 6th 24 and F-4 Tornado came straight at my town. I was very depressed and was tired of life and planning to call it a night since invitation present itself. I stood out in my front yard and got a 1.6 mile wide roar by me 100 yards away full of power flashes in pitch black dark. That's insane most insane thing I've ever done.

I lucked out and only had a small portion of my fence come down and a few medium sized branches from my maple tree. 250k without power for many days though. It really wrecked Omaha as a whole.
