1956 Presidential Campaign Songs
These are some of the songs from the 1956 presidential election, when incumbent President Dwight D. Eisenhower defeated Adlai Stevenson II in a landslide for the second time. This includes songs supporting the Republican nominee President Dwight D. Eisenhower, Democratic nominee Adlai Stevenson II, Democratic candidate Estes Kefauver, and American Third Party nominee Henry B. Krajewski (who also ran in 1952 for the Poor Man's Party). Irving Berlin wrote "I Still Like Ike", "Ike for Four More Years", and "We Still Like Ike" for this election, although I wasn't able to find any decent recordings of these songs.

Although the incumbent president Barack Obama lacked serious opposition within his own party, the Republican Party had a large field of candidates before they nominated Mitt Romney. The first US president to be protected by the Secret Service was Theodore Roosevelt, after the assassination of President William McKinley in 1901. This video doesn't have any obscure facts in it like my other videos do; I just wanted to show how different presidents and their families celebrated the holidays. In 1889, Benjamin Harrison became the first US president to have a decorated Christmas tree in the White House. On December 24, 1923, President Calvin Coolidge lit the first national Christmas tree on White House grounds. 0:00 Intro ...

Some presidents' phobias were influenced by the time periods that the presidents lived in (ex. George Washington's and Benjamin Harrison's phobias). 0:00 Intro 0:07 George Washington 0:13 Thomas Jefferson 0:19 Abraham Lincoln ...

JQA probably thought his song was so badass when it dropped.
I think it’s pretty obvious Regan hasn’t read the lyrics of Born in the U.S.A. past the title.
I remember seeing a comment about it here at some point but I can’t find it, but They Might Be Giants did a fantastic cover of Tippecanoe and Tyler too
Trump really emoted during a rally
Franklin Pierce didn't deserve a song.
Missed nixon now. Freaking bop
Adding for 2024: -God Bless The USA by Lee Greenwood -YMCA by the Village People
cmon guys we could’ve had brat on here 😞
"Row, row, row with Roosevelt, on the good ship USA...." Also, "Tippecanoe and Tyler Too".
Biden's was kinda ironic ngl 💀
Damn, some of these are playlist worthy
I was hoping to sing "happy days are here again" November 2024; instead singing "it's the end of the world as we know it."
Their wrestling themes 😂
Ymca?
Do they really count if queen and The Rolling Stones have threatened legal action against Donald trump for using their songs
For me, ‘you can’t always get what you want’ has always been perfect for trump
4:09 who won? WE WON! 🇺🇸
2:12 Thanks for including me too
Why do i feel like ive heard jeffersons and liberty before lol?
Tippecanoe and Tyler Too is underrated
Henry Harrison's song was one of the first to have the name of their VP as well. I love the "Tippecanoe" name.
U like ike I like ike and everyone still likes ike
11:18 Obviously Trump 's song should have been YMCA or Les Mis "Do You Hear the People Sing?"
These are all absurd 😂
Joe Biden being the first president to use a song by a woman (Lady Gaga's "Edge of Glory") for his campaign is... crazy?
And then trump is the “their eating the dogs their eating the cats” And Kamala is the “you think you just fell out of a coconut tree??!!”
Grant's song is underrated tbh
3:31 It sounds so similar to "Ami, go home". Guess this is the original.
This song is based off “Tramp Tramp Tramp” a US civil war song about a union soldier taken prisoner and then freed from confederate soldiers
Adam’s and Jackson went pretty hard
