Are You Using Meditation As A Way Out? - October Monthly Meeting
มุมมอง 3714 วันที่ผ่านมา
What place does meditation have in your life? What does taking time out of your day to sit and formally practice meditation do for you? What sacrifices do you have to make to be able to engage in formal meditation practice? Are there duties, people or things that suffer as a consequence of your practice? How do you justify this? It is not uncommon for those who are committed to the path of self...
Transcending Phenomena & Living Life - September Monthly Meeting
มุมมอง 3714 วันที่ผ่านมา
As practitioners, we want to be sure how we are practising is the right way, the most effective way. Consequently, we search all around us for support and help. More than that we seek out reassurance. This can lead us down all kinds of paths. It can result in all kinds of experiences, favourable and unfavourable. What we are looking for, all the while, goes ignored, unseen. #september, #purusha...
Transforming the Ordinary into the Sacred - August Monthly Meeting Talk
มุมมอง 592 หลายเดือนก่อน
What does it mean to see life as a ceremony - a ceremony made up of a series of ritualistic acts. What is the role of ritual and how does it function to help us find significance in the mundane. Through exploring our relationship to life as a tapestry of ritualistic acts, we can reflect on the process of meditation both as a formal practice and informally as a way of being at one in the world. ...
Experiencing Meditation and the Practice of Entering the Subtle - July Monthly Meeting
มุมมอง 682 หลายเดือนก่อน
Regular meditation practice gives us a chance to explore reality as we experience it at a more subtle level. Over time, although we are likely to become familiar with the meditative process and what it allows us to observe, there is always a great deal which remains beyond our capacity to define. How then, are we to measure our progress as practitioners? #meditate, #experiencethesubtle, #beyond...
Knowing What We Want & The Pain It Causes - June Monthly Meeting
มุมมอง 804 หลายเดือนก่อน
The human condition can be characterised by an endless pursuit of satisfaction which is in direct conflict with an ongoing experience of discontent. Navigating these contradictory forces causes a tension in the life of every human being which quite often results in suffering. While we may know at a conscious level what we want, how we think, speak and behave might fail us in being able to find ...

Restlessness and the Human Condition - May Monthly Meeting
มุมมอง 685 หลายเดือนก่อน
This life is one of movement and change. What drives this movement and change lies at the core of the human condition. It is what causes us restlessness. How this restlessness manifests and expresses itself is relative to our capacity to understand its origins. As we gain greater insight into the origins of restlessness we empower ourselves to channel and direct it in ways which are of use. A d...
How Do We Overcome Distraction
มุมมอง 345 หลายเดือนก่อน
#kriyayoga #paramahansayogananda #royeugenedavis #theyogisway #yamasandniyamas #yogadublin Distraction is a consequence of how we relate to our minds. In yoga what occurs at an energetic (emotional) and physical level is determined by what is going on at a mental level. If we find ourselves unable to engage in life without becoming distracted it is as a result of the noise in our minds being so...
Benefit of Therapy for Yoga Practitioners
มุมมอง 196 หลายเดือนก่อน
The objective of psychoanalytical psychotherapy and yoga are comparable in that both aim to help the practitioner to understand who they are in relation to the I function or the imaginary ego. People can be drawn to psychotherapy for many different reasons. Fundamentally, however what attracts someone to psychotherapy is the same as what draws someone to yoga - to want to overcome suffering. #f...

Thank you for these series! 💚🙏
You're welcome Alex.
Much gratitude♡
You're welcome

It’s perfect for opening up the pathway for kundalini.
Thanks Nicholas for your comment. Please say more.
Kriya yoga is a scientific spiritual practice that is structured in a way to allow one to experience higher states of consciousness and evolve spiritually experiencing and abiding as the eternal Self. Mainly being taught from the Gita and the yoga sutras.
Thanks Marlon. Your contribution touches on some valid points. Specifically Kriya Yoga as a scientific process. But also your referencing the two core texts which form it's basis. Your reference to higher states of consciousness, spiritual evolution and the eternal Self. These are ideas which merit a lot more discussion. Great input. Thanks for sharing.
Namaskar, thank you!
You're welcome 😊
Looking forward to it! ☺️
Thank you very much!

Thank you!
Ur not supposed to show the kriya technique openly . It has to be learned from guru n privacy has to be maintained to maintain authenticity as it came from babaji .
Thank you Sir 🌺🙏🌺
You're welcome
Hello David, I'm looking forward to purchasing reading your book next month Most grateful to You Jane☆
Thank you Jane. Wish you every success with it.
Great❤Tnx a LOT🎉
You are very welcome.
This was so helpful David! Thank you so much. I had just recently learned of this practice and it was described by my teacher just as you did here, but I still didn't feel like I quite "got it!" This video was the very clarification I needed! Thank you for demonstrating the Kriya Yoga Pranayama Breathing Technique!
Delighted you found it of use. I should clarify there is some difference between the Kriya Yoga Breathing Technique and the technique I share here.
❤❤❤❤

❤❤❤❤
David, which translation of Patanjali Yoga sutras you would recommend?
❤❤❤
Is this done during the Kriya breathing practice itself?
Thanks for your question. A more rigourous variation of this is performed.
Most people regurge stuff they heard on TV or TikTok. I don't have either for that reason... I'll hear it anyway, sans advertisement. I'd give my life if the world shut the F up for like a week. 😂
What is a good amount of time to do this?
It is not time specific. For a better understanding of why watch the video series on the breath.
@@davidmcgraththerapistthank you!
Looking for a video editor? 🌻✨

Thank you David for a most insightful presentation.
You're very welcome Brendan. If you are interested in joining the monthly meetings email me or check out the details on www.davidmcgrath.ie
Thank you David 🙏
You're welcome
You never demonstrate how to perform as you promised, you gave instructions like others..
From the outset I clarified I would not be providing instruction on how to perform the technique. I am sorry you missed that and were left disappointed.
@@davidmcgraththerapistWhy does no one demonstrate. It’s like everyone knows how it’s done on text but can’t do it themselves. Just record yourself for 5 min breathing. Why is that hard
@@JohnSmith-wr7lg A question worth asking. Indeed it would not be hard to make a 5 minute recording of someone performing the technique. I explain why I haven't done so within this video series.
@@JohnSmith-wr7lga lot like asking, where are the God realized people from doing this technique in the first place?
Very good to hear. 😊
Subtle, flowing, energetic tutorial. Thank you!
Another warm insightful lesson. They are great short for us beginners. Thank you!
Thanks for your comment. It pleases me to hear they are use.
Thank you for your very warm and lucid tutorial on Kriya yoga. I am just beginning, so I deeply appreciate your sharing this.
Thank you for your feedback 😊 You might like to check out the Kriya Yoga Preparation Course I offer. You can find out more about it on www.davidmcgrath.ie
Thank you!
You're welcome Michael
Well said!!!
Thank you
Great explanation brother, thank you.
Very good. Delighted you found it useful. Thanks for your comment.
Exhaling through nose as well right...
Yes.
Thanks alot..you explained very clearly..
I am glad you found it useful. Thanks for your comment.
Thank you friend. Peace!
With pleasure.
Thank you for sharing the yoke between yoga and reverse meditation! I did the 8 week MBST training in 2010 and this is actually the type of meditation I am more attracted to, and I had been practicing yoga long before I got the RYT 200 in 2019.
Thank you for your comment. I'm delighted you found it of benefit. The meditations offered as part of this series are to be used more as supplementary practices to support your primary formal meditation practice and the informal practice of living your day to day life.
Thank you 🙏
You're welcome
Thanks!!!
You're welcome
Beautifully said..
Thank you
I have been practicing Kriya for couple decades. What has always confused me is when Yogananda writes about doing an hour of Kriya. As taught to open mouth but even with lubricant the throat gets dry. It seems more natural threw the nose. Any advice one this would be helpful.
Thanks for your comment. From where I am sitting, I would say, do what is most comfortable.
Thank you
You're welcome.
Thank you
You're welcome.
This style of meditation came to me out of the blue the other day. Turns out it was already a practice! Love this series, where could I find more information on this style of practice?
Thank you for your comment Ryne. I consider these practices as a means to challenge our ability to stay alert and attentive at all times. Paying attention to what goes on at an emotional and mental level when our senses are engaging in the the world around us, forms part of the practice of tantra.
Thank you David for this brilliant presentation. I have been involved in Yoga for the past 30 years or so, but having listened to your presentation I am greatly inspired to take my practice to a new level. Suffice to say I have ordered your book and am very much looking forward to reading it and following the various aspects of the process in every day practice. Many thanks 🙏
It pleases me to hear you have been re-inspired Brandon. Thank you for your comment. I wish you continued success in your practice.
This is wrong…Omkar Kriya is part of the higher Kriyas, there are way more details in what the omkar Kriyas are then what this video actually says. It really sounds like you are speaking without direct experience, I don’t mean to be rude but you shouldn’t mislead people.
Thank you for your comment Victor. Why do you feel like you are being rude?
@@davidmcgraththerapist simply because I’m being very forward in the way I’m communicating that I’m against someone teaching without direct experience or without at least being able to go into Samadhi. I’m open to the idea that I may be judging you incorrectly but never in your channel have you spoken about how does it “feel” to go into Pratyahara, Dharana, Dhyana or Samadhi
@@victorgerardmelendez6323 if I spoke more about how they 'felt' (as opposed to the means to achieving them) would you be less inclined to judge?
@@davidmcgraththerapist I’d be less prone to judging if you gave examples of your direct experience otherwise how can someone teach if they haven’t directly experienced what they teach. I don’t talk to my piano students only about how the great ones played piano, I also talk about my direct experience and actually play for them which really makes a difference. What I’m saying is that anyone can teach by giving examples of what Yogananda experienced but few can actually say they’ve had the same experiences as Yogananda and talk about those experiences
@@victorgerardmelendez6323 in the teaching of yoga, oneness-consciousness nothing can be demonstrated it can only be pointed toward. Expecting otherwise is likely to lead to disappointment. Have you a trusted teacher you can turn to for personal guidance?
Is this the kriya yoga taught by mahavtar babaji
Yes - as shared by his successors.
