In Yunnan Province of China, the important function of the fire pond is to roast tea. Southwest of China is the birthplace of tea trees in the world, and the local ethnic minorities have the longest relationship with tea in Yunnan Province. For example, the Bulang people in Yunnan Province, descendants of the Pu people, are the first people in the world to discover and use wild tea leaves. They have lived on tea for generations. The Bulang people treat tea as both a dish and a medicine, and drinking tea is more important than eating. When they drink tea, they put the tea in an earthen pot, roast it on the fire pond at home to fragrant, and then boil it with water to drink. This is the most primitive way of drinking tea in Yunnan, China. It may be much earlier than boiling tea in the Tang Dynasty and whisking tea in the Song Dynasty.
