I usually use a sole hardener, the brand you use really depends on where you are in the world. In South Africa we use Endeavon Sole Hardener, which has iodine solution and formaldehyde. But try this routine as well: pick out feet before and after pasture time (and outside the stable so it's not in your horse's bed), pick out feet before and after riding as well. The sole hardener should be used before rainy season (whenever that is in your country - South Africa it's usually a few months before our spring season for example). Another thing to look into is hoof strength supplements. Hope this has helped!

Yeah my sister left SA as she didn't feel safe anymore 😕 I've been preparing for 2 years now as I need to make sure my horses will be safe and evacuation protocols in place if ever there is a situation here. I love the nature and the beauty of this place, but I have to think about my future as well

Chihuahuas have so much personality 🤣🤣 Narnia is such a city slicker whenever she joins me at the stables. Absolutely hates the flies, the smell, the furry giants with big eyes on either sides of their skulls!

@@myskarideshorses lol... character they have in abundance. I can't even swear in a nice voice... he knows the words... yet he chases huge black bears out of the yard but rustle a plastic bag and he cowers, shivering in fear. They are too much really... well just enough anyhow. Love em.

I'm not entirely sure 🤔 I don't see why not, but you'd have to speak to the person in charge of the welfare of these horses and convince them you'd take good care of them, similar to how adoption processes usually work. They also love donations so the town can keep these horses in oats and vaccinations and sterilisation
