Not to be hyperbolic or blasphemous… this is one of the greatest opening statements in DCI history. Easy grasp, not main stream, sets you up begging for more, but also feeling complete. I picture getting a glimpse of a great fortress or glorious oasis in the shimmering heat of the desert… waiting to begin an epic journey… which The Cut-Outs was certainly a perfect example of said journey. One of my favorite openers, favorite Blue Devils shows, favorite shows of all time. I think maybe my favorite BD opener is cabaret Voltaire, and this is right there… maybe better.
