I don't think this would be allowed if you have city water supply and an application where backflow prevention is mandatory, e.g. filling a tank where the water can be dirty. In such cases, you must ensure a certain air gap between the max water level and the mouth of the filling pipe. That can be arranged with a valve with a separate float on an arm but I can't see it being done with this valve. If you have your own well, no such rules apply.
