As a survivor, this hits so deep. I had these conversations, I prayed for heaven. I went to church every Wednesday and Sunday and was so confused that the abuse didn’t end. I’m so proud I survived and broke the cycle, I know now God needed me here more and I will have my peace in heaven one day.

Absolute Power corrupts...and some "adults" who abuse were themselves abused...not that makes it ok or saying that all abused children grow up to abuse they dont but some do....there is evil in this world...anybody who gains a since of power or satisfaction out of hurting anybody or anything that is by definition and physicality weaker and defenless against.. is the worst kind of human...if they are even human

Breaks my heart...my son's dad was abusive..I finally got the strength, and courage to leave...then met a man..was great..for years.he raised my son like..his own..i had never let anyone close...to myself or son..though it was a blessing. .only for him to up and leave 10 years later..he abandoned him..I hate myself for letting someone in..and getting close to my son..because now still..he is hurting...no communication from..the man that raised him for all those years...I let him down..I let someone abuse his heart,,his feelings, now he is closed off..and won't let anyone in..

I lived this all thru my childhood and that preacher man was my grandfather who taught me about heaven and yet he couldn't save me

My father was abusive. I can remember telling a teacher I did t want to go home. Neighbors witnessed him beating my brother. My mom wouldn't leave cause she had no where To go and take us. I stood at his casket when he passed and I just kept asking why he couldn't be a good father.

First time I heard this song I was at work. I work on an auto assembly line, and damn I had to fight back the tears.
