How can a car have "organic" styling?

The F1 "creator" had it all figured out all along but still has his knees against the "instrument panel" and the steering wheel rubbing his thighs. As he sits "front and center" in a "supercar" driver seat with absolutely no "side bolster" and no "Formula 1 feel" whatsover when it comes to the cockpit and seat "wrapping" around and keeping him uprignt regardless of "cornering forces". Stupidest fucking "engineering" ever using the "arrowhead seating arrangement you've NEVER SEEN SEAT "3 ADULTS" AND WITH TWO OCCUPANTS ONLY WOULD MAKE IT THE MOST POORLY "BALANCED" SO-CALLED "SUPERCAR" EVER.

is that jeremy clarkson narrating this?

I wish they'd make this same car with modern tech and see how much it improves.

That V12 BMW engine! The sound gets me every time! Still my favourite car. Also, still the world fastest street legal NA car, only cars to surpass it are supercharged or turbo boosted.

I honestly think if maclaren did 7 years of free servicing like ferrari people wpuldnt be so afraid of owning one. F1 is as fast as my 992 turbo 100-200kph and thats 25 years younger. Bonkers

If I had to choose one car only, I’d choose this McLaren F1. This car is still the most enthusiastic car ever built.

I think Derek has forgotten, we never had a carbon fibre kit cutting machine and didn't want one. I calculated and was later proved right at all of my subsequent companies (Flight Refuelling, Lola, CTS, Caparo, Axon) that the kit cutting machine would slow down the factory. It would be what is called in the lean world a monument or bottleneck. To overcome this you would have to cut kits in advance for stock and that would have cost us an extra £70K in raw materials which would have just sat in stock. We were told by the machine and software salesmen, who sneakily told the bosses first, that their machine would reduce scrap, it never does, the offcuts are determined by geometry and our skilled kit cutters would use offcuts across the jobs because we had strict batch traceability which was at least as good as that in the space industry. The composites factory at Shalford was lean and based on a complex set of algorithms called the theory of constraints and I don't believe it has ever been bettered. We made 1 body in white set every 7 days like clockwork. None of the F1 body or chassis parts were designed on CAD, the cost of CNC based tooling would have been horrific. Nobody ever asked about what we did or why or how we did it. And don't forget the team we had at Shalford, they were the very best in the business, and most were trained by McLaren. I fitted a BT mobile phone kit in a new one of these and got to do a test of the kit around Shepherds Bush in West London, UK. Still remember thinking no one will want these things with this seat in the middle😂silly me. Least I’ve driven one😊

This is the best car ever ! It has only 1 default to my humble opinion : too soft suspensions and no anti roll bar ! If I recall even Gordon Murray admitted it ! And maybe slightly wider up to 2 meters would have been a bit better for aerodynamics and as well for comfort inside !

The footage at 25.50, after technicians adjusted the rev limiter, that' reeeeally Awesome! Its' indescribably astonishing hearing that V12 revving so high, touching the magic quote of 8000 rpm.. It's something UNREAL, and I honestly prefer this sound with quite silent exhaust, instead of F1 race cars, so I can enjoy that gorgeous intake melody
