See, now THIS is what I'm talking about. You, sir, and maybe one or two others on all of youtube correctly play those 3 A notes in a row (the 'if I lay' part). Yours is so beautiful sounding. I've watch SO many people on TH-cam just now play this song, and everyone does the same thing on those notes, back and forth, up-down-up-down. It's so CHOPPY and terrible sounding, or wrose, they cheat and play A-B-A! What's up with that!? But you, ah man, it's so smooth, all of them on the same bow stroke. I've only been playing the cello for 3 1/2 years. Self taught aside from youtube vids (probably a mistake). I really am lazy about practicing, even though I don't want to be, and I should be MUCH further along than I am, but it is what it is... In any case, I know a good cellist when I hear and see one, and it clearly takes a good cellist to play those same A notes in a row without changing the bow direction. I don't know what technique this is called, or how you really even perform it, but I am starting to learn this song (in the same scale as yours also since its obviously the most prettiest scale for it ha) and I REFUSE to sound like a mid-range cellist. I've been trying to figure out how the heck it works all on my own. I'm slowly figuring it out though... I think...It seems it's a combination of dropping weight on the bow with the elbow and slightly pulling up with the thumb and middle finger bow hold, but idk, it's sometimes difficult figuring out techniques without a teacher. But I'm gonna get it one day. Hopefully... Wow I've rambled on for a ridiculous amount of time. Totally listening to this a few more times now and studying your bow movements. Cheers!
