I grew up in Jonesboro it’s a nice town but the crime is getting so bad here
I was looking at a home on nestle way near a rice factory. If i chose to live next to a rice factory. Does it make lots of noise or smell bad? Im from south Florida tonados and storms dont scare me i currently live in brazil. Mosquitos dont bother me either cause theres plenty here
Too many skeeters.
Best area in Arkansas Is The Northwest Corner Of The State Little Rock Is Full Of Crime, Pine Bluff Is Really Bad, Hot Springs Is Nice I'll Say, Jonesboro Is Full Of Crime And Drugs West Memphis AR Is Bad As Well
They need to quit clearing out the trees in Jonesboro. That aggravates me so bad. It makes it look terrible! Also… why are there so few real doctors even though we have two hospitals and multiple urgent cares? Mostly nurse practitioners. 😔 no offense nurse practitioners. And yes we need sidewalks. More and more walk. Walking is good.
I hear the crime rate is bad in Jonesboro.
How’s Piggott my friend just moved there ,anything to do around there ?
Arkansas is the natural state you have to expect roadkill. fresh killed deer?? free food 😂😂😂
Make about half what you be making in another state
1. Roadkill happens all over Arkansas....especially deer in south Ark. 2. Construction means the city is growing. That is a POSITIVE. 3. Having a good school system is a negative people have to learn to deal with if they wanna move to Jonesboro????? 4. weather in Jonesboro is no worse than anywhere else and is better than in central AR. See Vilonia. 5. Sidewalks is not where one should be riding bicycles anyway since that is where people walk. 6. Utilities? What was his beef? 7. hahahah..mosquitos are a issue all over the state and Stuttgart has it ten times worse than Jonesboro ever had in its worst nightmare. 8. Crying about pollen? Either wear a mask or stay in the house. Pollen is also an issue anywhere there are plants/trees growing. IOWs...all over the state. 9. The heat..........ok....I am finally getting the idea that this guy is just a huge whiner crying about every little thing in life. None of what he has brought up is unique to Jonesboro. It is EVERYWHERE!!! 10. Politics......yeah........everyone hates the politics no matter where they live. A 20 min video of a Karen whining.
You spent all of that time typing that out 😆😆😆🤡🤡🤡 Thanks for the algorithm boost ❤️❤️❤️
I'm from WV so I'm used to conservative Trump supporters
Love your channel!!! It is sad that Northeast Arkansas always gets overshadowed by Northwest Arkansas. I wish there were more people like you that gives love to our side of the state!
Thanks for watching! NWA has set the bar pretty high. Hopefully we can catch up because I love NEA!
@@livinginjonesboroarkansas I hope we can too! I’ve been here my whole life and I love seeing all of the projects being worked on. I believe we are on average the 2nd fastest progressing area in the state! I know we are growing at a faster rate than the Little Rock area and the Fort Smith area. Maybe one day we (Jonesboro) will pass Fort Smith in population.
Jonesboro has some of the worst drivers there are anywhere.
Can we get part time jobs in Jonesboro in current time?
Yes. Tons of them available.
@@livinginjonesboroarkansas as an international student arriving their soon how can we find the jobs? Can you please help with that
I grew up in Jonesboro-all my family were born in St Bernard's and graduated from JHS (65) and on back and forward. I had a paper route with the Jonesboro sun when the Trouts ran it. I lived on E Oak Ave less than a block down form church. Yes I remember when the citizens bank was 4 stories and the main st with all the 3 dime stores. Growing up in that time was ( as I tell my son) was like Mayberry-my grandmother left the keys in the car and I did not have a key to the house if anyone gone just left the door unlocked. I joined the military and traveled the world and ended up in the People s republic of California-nice there but do not like the managment. I have some 8mm movies of jb that I converted to digital and also movies of christmas parades in the 60s-some movies of the first time Booker T marching band was allowed in the parade. My family goes back to the early 20th century.. anyway enough Jb is not the same as when I lived there thank you=I am scottabe395@gmail.com
Hello . Are you realtor there ?
Hey Juan, I am a realtor here. How can I help you?
I have been there too much crime I would not recommend living there not even for free
“Too much crime” compared to where? Where do you currently live?
stupid hat day?
Be so miserable in your life that you comment like a 🤡 on TH-cam videos day?
2 people got murdered today here in Jonesboro
They did, but context is key. It was a murder suicide. Sad stuff, but it wasn’t random violent crime.
@@livinginjonesboroarkansas yeah you're right.
I’ve been here since I was born, they’ve been trying to improve the city and it’s okay for me ever since the 2020 tornado that hit us horribly. The roads here are okay but Red Wolf, Highland, and Johnson is just a hell of traffic. I got stuck in one of those traffic jams due to an accident it was stressful.
They have really worked to improve the city, I agree. I agree on the traffic as well. Saturday afternoons and Friday’s from 4-6 it’s jam packed on Red Wolf and Highland!
lived there for school back in the 1980s...would have stayed in a heartbeat if there were any jobs back then. out of school and nothing to do for work. shame.
Dude you did an AWESOME presentation!!!!! I’m in St. Louis and may be moving there in a couples of years. Superb job man 👍🏿
Thanks for the input I appreciate it! We’d love to have you here in Northeast Arkansas!
They need 2 more thoroughfare beside Caraway and Red Wolf. very clean city. It look like they overhauled the city cause everything look new. A lot of new hotels and still building. Lots of restaurants. Dry town. Not bike or pedestrian friendly. Lots of Camaros, Chargers, and Mustangs. People are generally nice compare to where I moved from, NW Arkansas.
Thank you for your insight. That’s one of my biggest “gripes”, how we aren’t currently bike or pedestrian friendly. The city is working on it though and I’m sure it’s going to get better!
I was born and raised in Jonesboro JHS HS class of 65. Most of my family and my self were born at St Barnards-Dr Barrett-and grew up with Doc wisdom as my dr. I finally got out of jb in 66 when I joined the Air Force--and I was glad to get the hell out of Jb--Yes I stil have family there including a doctor. Growing up there was like living in Mayberry but no more. But God bless you folks but for me the West is the best-and I don t have to drive 15 miles for a beer
Where are you at now out West? Now we can have a beer at most restaurants but to have our own to take home you are right we have a 15 minute drive 🙄
Those skeeters will tear you up lol 12:58
No doubt! 🦟
I seriously doubt they are worse than the ones in Chesterfield, Virginia
My maternal grandmother was from Van Buren
Bill Halter was pretty liberal
I watched your video and as someone that grew up here i can confirm on everything you say here lol
I moved from Jonesboro after living there my whole life 17 years then now moved to st louis
I love St.Louis! Thanks for watching!
cool
I grew up in one of the small towns outside Jonesboro, so I spent a lot of time there. Back in the 80's, Jonesboro was a nice town of about 35,000 people. There were a lot of mom and pop businesses, and Jonesboro had a lot of character. ASU were the Indians, and that culture permeated everything. Now, it's nothing but a sea of strip malls and chain restaurants. ASU is unrecognizable. Even the roads are different. Jonesboro still has the tornados and mosquitoes, but a lot of the good things are gone.
Thanks for watching and the comment! I’ve lived here for 20 years and we love it. It’s a great place to raise a family in our opinion!
Don’t move there with your leftist progressive values. Don’t even waste your time.
That seems to be the consensus message among Jonesboro area residents. It’s a deep red area.
I've been a Jonesboro resident for 50 years. I can confirm that Jonesboro area schools are great. CWL rates are lower than any other electric utility that I know of. We do have tornadoes, but our local television station's Storm Team meteorologists are fantastic about keeping us informed. If you're moving to Jonesboro, you will definitely need mosquito repellent!
Take it from here folks! She’s been here longer than me! Thank you for the comment!
Is arkansas State University good for overseas student??. Please kindly inform me because I am a student and want to go there.

BRO I LIVE IN JONESBORO ARKANSAS IT SUCKS wait-- ive seen you OMG
Thanks for commenting I appreciate your opinion!
I been in Jonesboro Arkansas for 54 years
That’s awesome!
Pretty good video. Couple of points, the traffic could be made so much better by making the main roads controlled access, how we still allow left hand turns from anywhere is just stupid. Spiders; we are in the heart of Brown Recluse territory and Black Widows are now prevalent in Jonesboro. Don't under sell that fact. Next, Craighead Electric offers the most affordable and fastest internet in the area, you can choose fiber within CWL area but its an added cost. Finally, just say if you are a liberal, just dont move here, and I would agree. Best of luck
All great points! I have noticed more black widows recently too. I have ATT fiber and it is great but I’ve heard empower is great too!
Good video 👍🏻
Glad you enjoyed it!
Is it easy or hard to find part time/full time jobs in jonesboro ?
Jonesboro has a great job market! The diversity of industry has something for everyone. I see both full time positions and part time positions being advertised every day for various industries.
I was raised just outside of Jonesboro. Best thing I ever did was move away.
Cool. I moved here in 2001. Best thing I ever did was move here.
You’re right about the power of the dollar difference when comparing rent prices in Memphis to Jonesboro. I’m working on a move now, will be in Jonesboro within 3 months!
Nice! If I can help in anyway let me know!
Ohh my gosh, tornadoes and mosquitoes are deal breakers for me!! 😰😱😰 Nope No can do!! Where is it better in Arkansas??
There’s a few places that have way less mosquitos. Send me an email at derekjacobsrealtor@gmail.com and I’ll give you a lot more information that can fit in the comments 😀
What state has the most folks moving to Jonesboro?
I’m not seeing just one state that the majority are coming from. I’ve helped people from Tennessee, Arizona, Oregon, Japan. I get reach outs from people weekly that are in various states, but there’s not been one state that has quite a few more than the others.
@@livinginjonesboroarkansas interesting. Thanks for the response sir
What I never hear in these videos is how bad the violent crime is here. Yes Jonesboro used to be a great place to live and raise a family but there's not much for the younger kids/teens to do.
I’ve lived here 20 years and half of that I’ve raised a family here and I wouldn’t consider the “violent crime bad” here in Jonesboro. Do we have crime like all growing areas, yes. If the crime ever turned into random, violent crime then I’d be worried for me and my family. Thank you for your comment!
I live here
Hey I am moving there in June- wanna know more about the area- gonna stay with a friend
Coming from Alabama, tornados don't bother me. And the best meteorologist is Ryan Hall, Yall on TH-cam. I travel all over and he's the best. Check him out. Looking for a place in Jonesboro if I get a position I'm looking at.
Did you get the position and move to Jonesboro? I’m looking to apply for a job there and trying to get more information about the area. If you see this, please let me know your experience so far.
@angeleyes3396 No I didn't get the position.
@@tamarakelli687 Ok, thanks for your reply!
As long as there is rice farming in the area you will always have mosquitoes. Raised on a family farm just north of Grubbs and moved to Newport when I was 12. Graduated as a Greyhound and never went back. That was in 1969 and visited the area until dad passed in 2020. Home is never the same as you remember and that holds true even today. Jonesboro is by far the best place to live if you like the more populated areas, rural areas are great for those who don't.
Which are the best neighborhoods to live at in jonesboro? I'm an investor and I'm interested in buying apartments. Which areas do you recommend to buy at and why?
My favorites are: Sage Meadows Lake Pointe Ridgepoint Barrington Park Terra Hills If you are considering apartments there’s a few different areas that would work just depending on exactly what you’re looking for. There were actually a lot of apartments just listed. Send me an email at derekjacobsrealtor@gmail.com or call me at 870-882-3378 and I can get you info on them all.
Loved your talk. My mother used to be a realtor in SW Ark. She did the opposite of you, after a stint as a realtor she went back to college and became a teacher of civics for 25 years. She helps at a couple of food banks now. Volunteer. I guess I am proud of my mother for being like you.
That’s a great story. Does she live in the Jonesboro area now or is she still in SW Arkansas?
@@livinginjonesboroarkansas SW.
I live in north Jonesboro between Hwy 141 and Hwy 351 and am blessed not to have the mosquito problem that other parts of town has. You can sit out at night and not worry about being sucked dry by those devilish critters! Usually the only time that this is not the case is right after a thunderstorm, then we may have more than usual for a couple of nights.
No doubt about it. I live at Sage and they aren’t nearly as bad compared to when we lived in South Jonesboro. I have friends that live out at Terra Hills and they claim they never get bitten.
Traffic is nothing here. Try living by Tampa, FL.
I have a buddy that moved to Fort Myers recently and he’s told me all about the traffic from Tampa to Naples. For Jonesboro’s size it’s pretty annoying at certain times or day.
