Never seen such a disjointed pile of word salad. Constant wordy meaningless descriptions and crap metaphors, derailing any chance of providing pace through the story. The use of extremely confusing character names is plainly dumb and just another mistake. I really regretted putting up with it for as long as I did but no way could I put up with the increasing level of crap and clumsy melodrama. 47 minutes was as far as I could stomach it. Utter garbage.

So... Is Zorlon the captain of an advanced ship, receiving a message from Earth's primitive, level 1 civilization, or is he the captain of an Earth ship? In the beginning of the story, he's the first. At the end, he's the latter. One could imagine a story where that wasn't absurd, but this is not such a story. Things like this need to be explained, through the story. If there are other human civilizations, on other planets, that are somehow more advanced than Earth, that needs to be made clear and be explained. The heavy lifting of making the story make sense must be done by the author, not left to the reader/listener. The reader/listener is there to explore the fictional universe, not to construct it. The mistakes in this story are of a type that's easily made by AIs, but hardly ever by human writers; not even bad, human writers. You need much less AI, and much more infusion of human creativity. I've heard one good story from Stellar HFY, after which I subscribed. Now I've heard several bad stories, including this one, after which I've unsubscribed. It'll probably be a good while before I click my way to another of your stories, but it's likely to happen, at some point. Nothing would please me more than finding great improvements. Do the work, and people will come; don't, and they will leave.

Yeah, this was weird with the human vs. alien names. The story feels like this is a part 2 of something. Then thi gs speed up very fast. If the systems were built in mass secret, how did The Council have ships right where the human ships just started showing? Not going to lie, the names kept making me wonder what side was talking. The biggest thing, what was the reason humanity hid its tech as it was just a throw-away line when being visited on request? This story might have been at least a good 2 parter. Develop the underlining why and who. Feels like a rush from thing to the next. Was there a spy networ for humanity to gauge and boost why they were superior tech compared when this was "first contact" according to Council dilpomat? It's one thing to let the reader fill in the blanks for small occassions, another to try and fill in all the what-happened-earlier statements too.

W... t... h...?? Pretty incoherent storyline. Varne is the commander of the councils fleets, right?! Damnit, another waste of time..

Repeat starts at 39 minutes, changes what came before; however, basically same but less straight forward. It seems that around 40-50 min is the sweet spot for the stories, less to little repeats at that range. It does tear you out of the story when it goes to repeat as minor things change but have a heavier impact on the earlier story. A little more quality control. :(

Why does the story repeat

What a nonsense ... hiding in asteroid "fields" and "nebulae"! Asteroids are objects far apart from each other, and on an orbit around a bigger object like the asteroid belt (not field) that is in the place of a failed planet between earth and mars; you could hide by landing and even digging into one, but not jump from asteroid one to the next or stage a wild TV hunt like "Rapid and Furious". Even worse is the fog in space - oops, no fog, it is called "a nebula" only because when they first objects appeared in telescopes of low resolution, there were foggy spots, like the Andromeda Nebula - which is a galaxy about ten times the size of our own "nebula", the galaxy or "Milky Way" (no chocolate in space). So having a small nebula a few miles or a few hundred miles to hide your ship is just plain nonsense. Maybe the author should write pirate stories, 16th or 17th century in the Caribbean, there he can have sand banks, cliffs, nautical challenges to chase gold fleets and be chased by the British navy.

Thanks for creating this. However, I really can't work out who is who with this one. Voss and Kyle seem to transform into the same person. Then the humans are defeated but then it says teach them not to underestimate humanity. Could you check the plot maybe and see where the disconnect is, maybe it's me and it's fine but you never know. Apart from that, the action and descriptions are a lot less clichéd than many others which is a really good sign of things to come.

The story starts to repeat at 38 min. It's like watching DBZ on Toonami back in the day, just all of a sudden back to where the portal just opened again.
