Worst van in my opinion to use .these vans need the most expensive service or the cam belt dies and it kills the engine fords worst van ever

why don´t you talk with a creative person? They will fix your complaints in no time?

It sounds like the only mistake you made was to have a spray foam applied by a spray foam contractor who most likely sprays houses for a living rather than attempting to do it yourself with a kit, as you could then control how it is applied. I have watched other videos which have cautioned against using someone who sprays homes in thick coats between studs/rafters and isn’t use to applying several thinner coats? I guess it is possible you gave the contractor some direction but then they ignored you and did their own thing?

They did not deserve to be paid for that. No way that was a 'professional' job. You probably could have done the same (or better) yourself.

HI Great Video!! THanks for the walkthrough! Im currently working on my van, did you leave any gap between the window and the window frame? Im worried about movement with the frame so close to the glass, then with a gap how do you prevent things from falling thru? Oh my, so much to think about, any pointers?

This was an excellent and informative video and it's clear that the benefits outweigh the difficulty you experienced having to have your plan intact before the job was started and then having shave back the foam which looked like a health hazard. Knowing what you're potentially going into is going to be so helpful for so many future vanlifers. Thank you!

Caution Usa and Europe is not same engine, exemple Ford transit is good in Usa and is bad in Europe , Ford Engine Duratorq/puma diesel is bad, in usa you have not this engine

Great points! Do you feel two 6" MaxxFan Domes would have worked as well as your two 14" MaxxAir Fans? I've learned the DIY cardboard box spray foam kits Froth-Pak or Handi-Foam doesn't expand as much as the professional version, if applied at exact prescribed temperature, and instructions say to spray in VERY thin quick layers, and it is not as messy as the professional version, so if you had to do it over again, would you consider DIY kits like those? Or would you use pre-made foam boards, because you feel yours is too stiff? How many centimeters would you apply, if you had to do it again? Would you consider doing anything to the back door windows? I have a Ford Transit I'm about to spray foam. I do not have windows in the back, it's a cargo van - does europe require a window in the back cargo area?

Hello, Canadian here, I am enjoying your videos, and I agree with you about the spray foam for northern climates. That lady can stay in her lane. :) I just wanted to say, so many regrets you have here, and regrets of other van lifers would have been avoided with a conversation with an interior designer or architect. I'm planning out my own van build so I'm watching many regret videos, and for a lot of the regrets mentioned designers and interior architects have answers/solutions for. (Not promoting myself here, more advocating for the profession.) If/when people have time to plan a build before jumping into it, a consultation would not cost much, maybe 100-200$, to look at your plans and give you a couple of points of feedback would be valuable in the end. Since it is such a cramped space (a van in general), and as you know, every inch matters, it's even more important to maximize the functionality and make sure it's ergonomic. Obviously you guys are doing great and love your van, and plan on having it for a long time, and if you were to build again, you know what you don't want, so it's not so much a comment for you, but for those that want to do a van build themselves. Thanks for listening to my rant! :)

The worst spray foam application I have seen. Before getting this stuff applied it is worth stating in writing what you want ie depth and areas to a standard. I hope you got a discount from the amateur who did the job.
