Not sure what all came with the WCFB. I do recall it came on early Chevys. I know my brothers 61 Impala 283 had one. If memory it's full name is White Cast Four Barrel.
My father bought a new left over 1963 Belvedere station wagon for a the family of six. It was ordered for the fire dept. and the budget was cut, dealer sold it cheap. Push button took me to high school then at 310k the T-Chain let loose. They won’t hear of fixing it and pushed into a ditch to keep cattle in and dirt from washing. Fire engine Red, chrome everywhere with deflectors on rear corners to keep rear window dirt free. Fold up rear bench seats, room for 6. I wax it each Sunday when nice and the day they ditched it, would still burn the retinas in your eyes on a Sunny day! 😢 I went on to fix vehicles for 40+ years.
use berry carb cleaner, it will melt carbon away, im talking hard caked on gotta grind it carbon, melts it, wash in sink when done, i have used it in us cleaner as well
When you are doing a rering on the pistons you have shown, what else do you use to clean the sides of the pistons. Wire wheel come to mind or do you find that takes to much of the piston?
I use a nylon scrub brush after the ultrasonic. It gets everything but the stains. I try to avoid anything too aggressive.
What other products would you recommend to put inside the ultrasonic cleaners. Or do you know the active ingredients
Pinesol works ok but is less effective and purple power works but is more costly. Not sure about the active ingredients off the top of my head but make sure they are safe for the material.
Great idea😅😅😅
Thanks 😅
1st like😮
Thanks for liking
Damn!😮
OMG. Came up on feed... I had a 1971 Satellite Sebring for about 12 years. Put a 318 in it 😄. Came factory with a 383, but had a 273 with a 904T when I bought it... 😁👍
That's cool. I haven't gotten this finished yet. Still working on my editing skills which are non-existent.
@@mostlymopar "Wish I'd never sold'er.." Probably the most echoed words in the South 🛢 She's beautiful, Don't Stop 😎️ (watching again, just cuz)
Thanks for straight to the point video unlike some videos that gives us a whole autobiographical ramble 😂
Thank You.

👍👍
Great Idea. Thats redneckin it.
I have good luck using a vacuum cleaner and water with dish soap.
What did you do to fix the leak??
It was leaking at the rear of the carb base gasket and at the passenger side intake gasket.
I did this nearly the same way on a 2001 Chevy 4.8L, blocked the intake just after the air cleaner box with a rubber glove, input the smoke through the Brake boost assist vacuum line. Found the leak in the oil fill spout. It even inflated the glove, so i knew it was pressurizing the intake of the engine! I used Swisher sweets too. Good work!
what an idiot!!!! now his engine is addicted to nicotine!!! now, instead of just an oil change and gas, he is going to have to buy it cigars too!!!!
Great idea never thought about that enjoyed the video
That is redneck ingenuity atbit finest!
Thats a lot of messing around to do something simple. Almost any spray can will do, but things that don't make a mess like WD40 even deodorant. With the engine running, spray over the lines and manifold. When you hit the leak the rpm will noticeably change momentarily.
If u could spray in all places. The cigarette/ cigar smoke idea allows even the smallest or furthest (think evap) escape to be detected without explosion, messy fluids that may not react well with plastics or rubber or paint or other. Tobacco smoke is very easy to smell/detect.
You realize cigars produce contaminants and a sort of gross film right?? Now you have that in your entire engine
You realize the crankcase produces oil vapor that will coat the whole intake?
@@Steevo69 you can't be that stupid
You realize valves open and close only when the engine is spinning right 😂
@@fastinradfordable so you think something like the tar and other contaminants would only hurt the cylinders? Two morons so far. Go ahead genius use a cigar 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
PLEASE tell us you were joking!!!!
Great idea!!!
That's pretty fun looking!👍 What do you think about using that same idea on more modern engines?
It should work fine. Concept is the same.
The blunts were part of my GenIII Hemi starter kit! 😂 All i need is the pump. Will report back ...
@@re8672Able to report?
Sweet ride... good luck with it.
Sounds like somebody didn't do their research before the engine swap. At least you got a hold of it and figured it out.
Good luck and b safe 👍
Good simple and to the point 😊😊
Thank You.
Your wasting your time the gm modules are junk also, if you dont mind geting stranded in heavy traffic, poring rain,0 temperature, the middle of the night in dangerous neighborhoods then just go ahead and do it. Sooner or later you will learn. That very undependable!
Been there ,experienced the pain. But you did not state what was the better way to go.I heard the hei distributor epoxy layered filled coils hold heat which eventually disolves the epoxy causing layer shortaging ,which causes more resistance and slowly kills the ignition module. So it's best to change both or you could burn out the new replacement module on the spot .I purchased the msd 8401 coil cap and eliminated the coil in cap and installed an external oil filled 12 volt coil.Engine ran better had to touch the hood to see if motor was still running. Unless i go to points and condenser on my 1980 oldsmobile delta 88.
So again what would you consider a dependable ignition system i'm all ears.
Now do a 3 minute video on a 2024 model 😂
I don't think I have the skills for that. I mean, I can probably get them out in 3 minutes.
Awesome words .
I may be slightly biased in this but as a father and pastor, I was proud of him.
Nasty! Nasty! 🤮🤢
It creates the heat that helps soften the vinyl and glue due to the friction. The vinyl and glue are carried off in the eraser dust that you wipe off. It works like a pencil eraser.
So, is it heat that's taking it off, or the wheel? Does the wheel get dirty that it would transfer back as u build up more crud as u go around, more?
I replied above.
Did this in the 80s. Used a remote HEI coil and gm module hidden in a gutted mopar module. Stock mopar distributor. Worked great. 40 kvolts at 6k rpms...measured using a scope.
I did this on a bench, can't get a spark :/
Did you get it to work?
@mostlymopar oh yes i did! Actually went back to my chrysler ignition system, rebuild my carburetor and now my 69 needs its lighting re done
Good video. I'm using a mopar pickup in a chevy points distributor with a GM module. Blaster 2 coil. Works great!
Sounds great!
So, Edelbrock good? Or the different surfaces machined, but, not matching?
Edelbrock works fine. The only thing I can figure out is maybe the weiand was machined to fit a set of heavily machined heads at one time.
Correction. The Dodge Ram is an 83 model.
Good video. I’m building a run stand (Mopar engines mostly) and using an HEI on it, but I’m stuck on a wiring problem. I’m using an alternator on this run stand and the question is, do I need to use a voltage regulator on it? Is the HEI unit a voltage regulator as well? Thanks
I believe if you are running an original mopar alternator that is not internally regulated then you will need an external mopar regulator wired in line between the alternator and battery. There should be aftermarket internally regulated alternators available that only require one wire to the battery.
@@mostlymopar Thanks. I’ve figured it out now. I’m building a run stand with Chrysler components and decided to use an HEI, but for some reason I thought I had to have the VR wired inline with it or something lol🤷♂️. Thanks again.
imperialservices.net have an assortment of cables and other parts.
You just made your ignition system more problematic
Why?
But a lot easier to work on
Excellent video thanks for sharing
Lovely engine, will just swap the carb I can approve for a go ahead build ❤ U scored on this deal. Still fresh condition 😁😁
Swapped the carb for a new 750 Brawler and an aluminum hirise intake. Much better.
Fajny projekt , życzę powodzenia ! Pozdrawiam z Polski 🖐️😉
Exactly what I needed thank you so much sir.. ❤
Thanks!
