4K CABVIEW: A run through history between Eidsvoll and Kongsberg
With this video I will start a run through history between Eidsvoll and Kongsberg. If this is something that you all want more of, please leave a comment, cause there is a whole lot more history to be told!
My plan was to make a huge video with different stops all the way to Kongsberg. But with the real life comined and with many hours of editing, my time just did not add up.
So I made the decision to just publish the video with what I got for now and make more videos like this if it is of any interest!?
Either way, we are travelling with VYs L12 service from Eidsvoll to Kongsberg. This video is shot around noon on a cloudy day.
I hope you enjoy this cab ride from Eidsvoll to Kongsberg, both from the rails and from the sky;)
As always, in 4K!
PS: My numbers where all off in my video regarding Oslo Airport Gardermoen. I need to get that corrected somehow.
11.4 billion Norwegian Kroner is aprox 1.3 billion US Dollars. In 1998, that would be equal to 2 billion USD today.

4K CABVIEW: Hovedbanen Commute With Type 72
I was finally able to record a trip with the historic Hovedbanen from Oslo to Lillestrøm. This was the very first stretch of railroad in Norway wich eventually ended up in Eidsvoll. I recorded the return trip as well, but I had serious problems with my recording equipment on the return trip so I had to cut it all out. But one way is better than no way, so I hope you enjoy this short video. The ...
4K CABVIEW: Return trip from Kongsvinger (VY L14)
I am still celebrating 1000 subscribers and want to show my appreciation with another video. This is a return trip from Kongsvinger to Lillestrøm. After Blaker you can spot some activity on the Urskog-Høland Railway. It is a narrow-gauge museum railway and went from Sørumsand, just outside of Oslo, to Skullerud station and transported passengers and goods up until july 1.st, 1960. In local parl...

I have finally reached 1000 subscribers!!! This milestone means a lot to me and I will surely celebrate with something good to drink and eat tonight, together with my new video and you! It is summer! And for me, that means vacation. So it has been quiet on editing and filming. But this is me trying to get some more videos out. Hopefully more frequent from now on! For the train though, it means ...

Winterly midday commute from Kongsberg to Eidsvoll in Norway is shot on a cold January day as we are boarding VYs local service in eastern Norway. Kongsberg Station is located on Sørlandsbanen, from there we will make our way to Drammen, Oslo, Oslo Airport Gardermoen and then the historic Eidsvoll Station. I love your videos, the history. My ancestors come from Norway, Germany, Belgium, and Poland. Please post new videos.
Thank you for this video. It is an absolutely fabulous video.
How can this ride take two hours if the speed is 200km/h? The distance between Skien and downtown Oslo is 140 kilometers.
You have misspelled the word "tunnel". 🖕 What are you, like five years old?
AND I 😂IT 😮😮😮😮IT WAS SO GOOD THAT I DIDN'T EVEN HAVE A 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉😮😮THAT IS SO AWESOME AND I HAVE NOT 44
So amazing, beautiful journey
Whay cant you use the horn like the french people do? High low high note?
We can use the horn however we like. High note, low note or both
You and RCG, the dynamic duo! I'm addicted to those 200 km/h sections! Norway is just plain beautiful.

Very Nice video. I really appreciate your making of this. I am sad that I just found your channel. I really appreciate this beautiful journey through Norway.
Cool to watch the landscape fly by like that. I wish we had electric passenger trains that go 200 km/h (just under 125 MPH) in the US. It’s not like we couldn’t, we just don’t. 😖
Nice videos
Avery good explanation on the history along the track. Thanks out Germany!
The only 200 km/h distance with train in Norway is between Oslo og airport Gardermon ! That you write som headline is Nonsens !
You my friend, are wrong
I really do love your videos. I have been watching RailCowGirl's videos for a few years now and just discovered yours a few weeks ago. I love being able to see the greater Oslo area and outer suburbs. All of Norway is such a stunningly beautiful country. I really wish I could spend some real time there but am just not able to at this point in my life.
I'm very glad I discovered your channel, GingerRail. Being able to watch cab rides in and around the Oslo area is a real treat. I had always wished I could move to Norge but, it never worked out. However, being able to see it from a train driver's POV is pretty great.
Will you ever go on the bergen line?
Espectacular 🌄

Where was «billettkontrollør»
It's lovely to see such a northerly country enjoying the sunshine and not endless snow and ice!
Norway did a mistake on names in the past bc this is L12 not how it’s today which is better than the past now it’s I think RE12 which is cool
Detta er 10 poäng ! Kan ikke fatta att jag missat detta. Härlig tågresa och historia lektion! 😊🥰👍
Seems to me the Norwegians have an awful lot of money.
…for the beginning: excellent film!
Great video, thanks. Ooh, those facing crossovers make me a little nervous above 200kph! I hope your maintenance teams do a good job!
Tusen takk for flotte videoer!
wonderful video
An really nice trip from the capital city to innlandet. Thank You.
Re - visiting one of my favorites. Hope you're doing well, Ginger. Take care🙂
Why do you drive so slowly in the tunnel between Asker and Drammen?
Speed limit is only 130km/h 😊
Great vid. Hope you can keep them coming. You are doing a fine job.
All the houses along the route appear beautifully maintained. But the Lørenskog station is a true gem. Its architecture and colors make it a joy to look at. It reminds me of the historic Kupferzell Station in Germany, which I used to admire from the train as a child. Thank you for letting us travel this enjoyable line with you, GingerRail ! Greetings from Georgia, USA.
Loved every bit of it. You do a fine job of it. Looking for more now.
Nice video. Keep posting and you’ll earn more followers
What is Vmax and is it possible to add act speed of the train?
Vmax is the maximum permitted speed. And no, I am sorry but actual speed will not be an option. Sadly I am no longer recording. More explanation in my community page here on YT.
I watched this video for Constitution Day.:) Thank you for all the information. Did the new tracks from Eidsvoll open on time?
The new tracks are open, but they closed the old one for upgrades. The whole ting opens in October this year:)
